Hell yeah, I'm just now doing this. It's been 10 years since I played Standard, never played Commander and am looking to start now. Somehow have held onto two decks. A Red and a Red/Blue. Broke em down and found 60 - 70% of a start. Gearing up to seek out the rest to fill. Dunno how it'll work out but it's a start and thankful to have had these cards still sored to start off.

are you sure ?? LIke I've started building my first commander deck last october and at least the Professor had already 100s of guides online when it came to mana base for example ect. (how to build a 3 colore EDH mana base, it's like 4 years old)

There are other guides for sure, including the professors. What I couldn't find was the tips on number of card draw, removal and such. It might be that I didn't look hard enough, but it just seemed as everyone knew these numbers but the wasn't a place where you could learn about it

@@joeylras You shouldve dug into the Command Zone's catalogue of content. Theyve done a couple videos on general building tips including general suggestions for card proportions (ie. ~8 sources of artifact ramp, ~5-6 removal, etc...). Those numbers are usually a good place to start and can be tweaked once you're more comfortable with building decks depending on what the goal of the deck is, the way you pilot the deck and who your commander is (not to suggest you're not comfortable with building decks now, just more of a general point for other noobs who may come across this comment).

This was very helpful. I feel very out of place trying to learn about Magic and building a commander deck to enjoy with friends for the first time. This video gave me a great starting point to tackling my first step in deck building for Magic.

Thank you for a great video. Your videos are entertaining, informative and you are an awesome presenter. I bought my first Magic cards recently. I like winter, snow and all that goes with them. I bought two Kaldheim draft booster packs and soon after bought a draft booster box. I have a lot of cards now. I asked the store owner what was most commonly played and he told me Commander. So, I'm putting together my first deck. Finding this video and watching it, a number of times, has been very valuable. I am not clear though on whether I need 100 cards or 101 cards (including the commander) as the rule appears unclear. Thanks for your time!

I've brought a Commander Precon (Edgar Markov). I have used a decklist from Jumbo Commander channels and tweaked itto fit my playstyle a bit more (Torbran). I also had a deck built for me by a friend to learn to play Tempo (Gadwick). For the first time, I've decided to build a deck from scratch with deathtouch/blink synergy. My friends help me to discover Sydri and I'm very excited to build it. It's great that as I'm going through this journey, I saw the notification for this video. Thanks Prof!!!!

Brilliant, brilliant video. I'm just getting back into MTG and have decided to go Commander as other formats are too expensive. This was a great into and I REALLY appreciate the explanation on EDHRec and that amount of data of the site overwhelmed me and I wasn't sure how to use it. Thanks SO much! Subscribed!
