What a fantastic insight into the working life in your position. A very different system to Australia. Here, Fire department and ambulance have always been two separate entities. We don't have EMT level, all emergency ambulance crews are paramedics. Obtaining a Bachelor of Paramedicine is a three year university degree followed by a year as an intern. As you can appreciate, not every firefighter wants to commit to that much study. Ramping is a real issue here too. If you find a solution, let us know. Best wishes and stay safe out there.

Just because your resources are stretched thin doesn't mean you should change your customer service, maybe if you can't handle calls volume merge with somone who can

ESF is a merge of Eugene and Springfield. They don't change their customer service but focus what resources they actually need to help the patient.

@ethanhyder4044 could you tell me for sure how many ffs you gonna need on every call, no because you don't know what's really behind that door till you open it up. Better to have the resources rolling and not need them than to need them rolling and not have them to be

@@K_ber1 In an ideal world sure its awesome to have more resources then will probably be needed, but as he says in the vid healthcare was a whole is stretched thin and cant afford to use so many resources if they don't know that they will be needed.
