My uncle is an officer and so was my grandfather, I didn’t really want to be one. However I been looking into firefighters and it seems like I will enjoy it. I’m doing firefighter 1 and also EMT training. I plan to volunteer first at a station hopefully. I want to help people like those before me.

So Sebastian the firefighter in the video said he is assigned to fire attack and patient care, so essentially first contact on most calls? Wondering how much time on the job Sebastian has to be doing these roles. Is this day in the life of a junior firefighter, or a experienced firefighter or somewhere in the middle?

Fire fighters are true hero’s. Not even getting to finish making lunch and off to fight fires/ medical. What people mistake firefighters, is they only fight fires. This is not true, they also act as ems if none is present. They also could be police assist is needed

My grandpa was Chief, for many many years for Dallas FDP waaaay back when. When they went in with a wet towel on their face, no mask.. no o2. He said you never sleep or eat on a full moon. If you sit down to eat, gurantee the bell will ring! 😂 and hot summer days, get alot of stabbings. I have the upmost respect for our first responders, fireman.. nurses... cnas... caregivers EVERYONE! it truely does take a special person. Thank you for taking us on your day! Amazing Video. Firefighting is one of my career paths that I’d like to go I to after I graduate, due to their duties, pay, and my uncle who was a Firefighter Paramedic down in Grants Pass. I thank all firemen for their service and hopefully I can one day work for Portland Fire and Rescue, or TVFR.

Do you guys are doing really good work?

I have always had massive respect for firefighters and paramedics. My grandfather, who is a veteran, had a heart attack about ten years ago, and if it wasn’t for the firefighters and paramedics getting to him so quickly, he definitely would’ve died. He is still alive and well today, and even though I only 11 years old at the time, I remember it like it was yesterday. 🫡🫡🫡

The TV shows are totally glorified crap. Firefighters have it so soft it’s unreal. Paid to sleep on night shifts enormous amounts of time off huge wages for a non educated job only less than 5% of their calls are even fires most of their call are minor are medical aids and in some places they chase along with the Ambulances. Yet a cushy life indeed.
