I met this really nice guy at some local event in southern NC. He let me pan some dirt he collected from Reed's Gold Mine and I got a really chunky flake and another average-sized one out of one pan. The dirt is really rich around there. You should see if you can find anything in some of the rivers if you are ever passing through the area.
Does the hand dredge not count as a dredge or not considered mechanical in the national forest or is it a don’t ask don’t tell type of thing? I don’t understand their reasoning behind it not being legal when a full sized shovel will remove more material and do more damage.
I think it’s a don’t ask kind of situation, I’ve had forest officers stop and watch me and they didn’t say anything, and I didn’t want to ask just in case lol. From my understanding you have to find it like the old timers did, and they could make a hand dredge out of metal if they had wanted to.
@@X4PROSPECTING i live 5 minutes from Gold Hill near Little Bear Creek. Do u think that Little Bear Creek is worth taking a look in? I'm more of a rockhounder but thought I might can get my 14yr old interested in going gold prospecting ....
Certainly worth looking at, if y’all need some assistance let me know and we can come out and test the area to see if it holds gold! Shoot me an email x4prospecting gmail
@@X4PROSPECTING Thanks brother. I live in NC too and I've been interested in trying panning for gold. Finding your channel has been a blessing. You've helped me answer a lot of questions. Thanks 🤙🤙
No lol. It’s legal to sluice. You can pretty much do anything you want on private property in NC. It only gets more strict when you get to the mountains where there are natural trout streams.
The thing I am not too thrilled about with your video. You show the spots you are going to dig in but you don't show the actual things you are digging up, or the process of placing what you place in the Bucket.
I like that he reclaims the area and puts it back how he found it.
Really nice gold for short runs. Quality over quantity and your explanation was really good bro.
Great information. Loving the videos
