I always look for the line of big rocks in rivers. I find in between the big rocks is good as well as to the side where it widens out in the low pressure zones 👍❤️💛💚

My furthest hike in 5 yrs is less than two miles from my vehicle..
At the end of the day heading back ?? The closer to your vehicle you are , the closer you are to ice cream 🍦…lol

Love it Gary! As others have said, your advice and tips have been very helpful over the years! I’m a desert prospector but I look at those dry washes with boulders, dense rock and light, and think to myself, ‘what did Two Toes say I need to be looking for here?’ Lol.. It’s helped me in the past, and between the trip I’m about to make 5 days from now, and my last trip 6 months ago, a TON of water fell and completely rearranged several washes in one of our favorite areas! I’ll be using my Gary goggles! Hahahaha😂

The gold is always shinier on the other side of the river, looks like it was worth crossing the river, pants and all for the better gold. Nice chunky little nuggets. What's the consens this year with the 2023 gold rush? The media had it out several time early this year that folks may be striking it rich in the Cal hills from all the storms and high water. I'm thinking at least an improvement for most prospectors. I also realize most will keep it a secret but... What do you think? Any braggers out there?

I didn't know that Lingcod flesh can look a little greenish, but turns white when cooked.
How is gold panning there in February? I am taking some time to drive up early February for "time off from work' coming up from Victoria BC. I am wondering if there is someone who could show me areas that are good, and possibly join me.
February is not a good time for panning, the rivers are normally very high them.

Unfortunately ALL Good areas where they are actually find gold on the north Yuba are Claimed so No place for us to go there :( . Only the few who have claims or know people with claims are making videos about finding gold it seems lol.
It's always great to hear how you take the guesswork out of finding the better gold Gary , And that information is something we always like to take onboard . But i'm always happy if i go out and find any gold , some gold , whatever gold , even a little bit of gold , lol , now might be i'm starting to think like Jeff . Seriously though !!!
