If your so worried about how the door sounds when closing and go to all that trouble , you should take advantage of sound deadening material while you had the door apart. It actually makes for a much quieter door and helps with road noise and overall interior comfort.
@@RayNLA I think a possible solution is to add the additional door seals that should soften the closing but would need more slamming to close. Can’t beat soft closing though
My comment on adding sound deadening was addressing your comments between 15:52 -16:03 about "luxury door closing sound" I have worked on over 6000 cars over the years customizing them. If you were to take apart a Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, you will notice significant sound deadening .. The model 3 doors may even close better because you will add mass to the door. Also you wouldn't hear the door close motor as much. That's my two cents. Nice job on the instructions on the door R and R of door motor . Very clear and good video.
PHUUUUUUUCKKKK! “Lower the window!” Damn, I wish someone at hanshow had given me that tip when I installed my MYP’s auto present handles!!! Accessing the window clamp bolt was a nightmare because it was above the access hole. I was terrified I’d break something trying to access it! All I had to do was drop the window a quarter inch before tearing everything apart. GREAT TIP!
I watched because at the beginning you said, "It's an easy install. There is no need to run wires." Then I watched you completely disassemble a door panel. Clearly your estimation of "easy" and mine are two completely different things. LOL. However, I would think about this improvement if I could farm out the installation. I suspect there are more people like me floating around out there. Definitely NOT a DIYer.
After installing the auto presenting door handles this is a walk in the park. It looks challenging but since Tesla is so poorly made/or for assessment/disassemble however you want to see it, every panel just snap out and into place easily. Each door takes about 1 hour to install. You can just try one door first and do a door one at a time makes it easier.

I have the opposite issue no one close the door hard enough and 50% of the time passenger always don’t shut it completely and not aware until I start driving off
Although I did not go with “Handshow” products due to reviews, I bought the door handles, the soft close latches and Dynamat sound proofing all at the same time. My thoughts is once you take the glass out and have access to this compartment you should just get it all done. It took me longer gutting the door, wiring the B-pillars, adding Dynamat sound proofing, installing the self presenting door handles and soft close latches. Now that I am finished, I see I should have thought about some new upgraded door speakers since I had access. Another thing I did is buy a huge assortment of push pins and clips before I started. It was another ten bucks but it save some downtime running over to our new service center here in Bangkok and trying to buy a part.

@@megawatts Its a bit worrying that no supporting beam in the doors. So, in cases of side accidents, hoping that most of the energy is going to absorb by battery pack side rails. If the point of impact is above the battery pack from side, its a disaster.
Easier just to get the inner panel unplugged and set it aside instead of it hanging around scraping the paint of the inner door. Also the inner door panel bolts are metric. 8 & 10mm.
DANGEROUS!! Emergency release not working on 3 of the 4 units I installed. One of the door installed it on, I may not have plugged it in correctly or not at all. I closed the door and I am not able to open it using the button. I tried to used the cable/emergency release and it did not work. Test the other 3 doors and only 1 worked. This is the V4 delivered on Oct 2022. Now, I am locked out of the front passenger side door!! Hoping Hansshow will have a solution! Test your emergency release before and after install!!!

@@megawatts Thanks for the video. As I mentioned 3 of 4 did not work. The rear 2 are direct pull on cable and no handle to attach to. So, rear 2 is not installer issue. The front 2, I actually took the cover off under the lever. I remove the cable from the lever and pull directly on the cable to confirm it was was not working. Hansshow has reachout to me to try to troubleshoot. Reasonable response time!

I have worked at auto an auto shop working on transmitions, AC, troubleshooting electrical wiring, etc. I have owned 10 cars ranging from ICE, hybrid to EV. Of these 10 cars, I have only paid for 2 service amoung all of them - 1 timing belt on a van and a hub bearing on another vehicle. I am a pro by any since but neither am I a beginner. You must have a better build one. I don’t have trouble closing but passengers and others that don’t have Tesla does. Also compared to our model x, 3 and Y feels like eco box doors, so this install helps makes me feel like it’s not a 70k ecobox pinto.
There is no way these new door latches are compliant with roll over airbag deployment, perhaps not even cross tbone forces. Sure the slamming of doors can be annoying but so is your door opening on impact.
I don't know why soft closing doors aren't standard on all teslas. For how much you pay for them it should be a given. My BMW seven series I owned had em and still worked 15 years later. '07 model. And bmws are money pits...everyone knows. Also, power close trunks. I think that's now standard on all the models but took em a while to do that. My old 2013 ford cmax has an automatic liftgate for crying out loud and it's only a $12k car! Haha. I love tesla but think they could up their game a bit since you're paying high end luxury car prices for them. All the seats should be heated and cooled. Heated steering wheel. Massage seats. Etc. Reclining rear seats would be nice too. Maybe they have that on a model x/model y? I'm not sure.

Warranty for what? It’s just a door latch that is a 1 to 1 swap. If you are worry about warranty don’t do any mods and stick with simple accessories or swap back if there is an issue with door hing.

Their argument is that whatever is wrong could have been caused by wherever the person did when they took it apart so it isn't a "manufacturer defect". In some cases even if what the owner did couldn't possibly have caused what the thing has a warranty claim for.

I thought such issues in the 1980s & over with. Tesla has been making cars for 10 yrs now and with all of the brains/geniuses working there, I would think the manufacturing and assembly process would have dealt with these things by now.

The argument is that all the cost went into the battery, motor, and computer, rest of car is probably on par with a Camry material at best at worst is a Sion if they still make them. I just got annoyed with people slamming the door or not closing it hard enough, so this solve that issue I can just tell everyone you only need to gently close the door now 😂
@@Aizman87 not good comparison we had bmw x7 and m5 before after 4 years and only 40k miles lots of issues from oil leak to radiator cracks to electrical issues you name it huge issue. The model 3 we hand over 100k 5 years no issues, no oil change not electrical issues it’s really just keep going will see my concern is when we need to replace battery 😢

Not worry too much about sound it’s more so that these doors requires slamming to shut close that’s the annoying part.
Fun fact…The door takes a little more effort to close because the seals are new. After a few months or so you won’t notice a thing.

DIY or just take to local aftermarket shop ask if they can install it. Also Hansshow has recommended installing you need to contact them for the info

This doesn’t interfere with side airbag sensor or control, it’s a mirror swap of the door latches.
it has the manual lever too, so it’s a 1 to 1 swap with added soft closing
