    The explanations may have been simple but there is great depth to unravel. Thank you

    Inspiring! Here there is no separation between body and mind. I love it. Strength seems to come from relaxation. Speed from quietness... Philosophy in motion.

    An well done piece on what appears to be an exemplary teacher. That he trains, going on what is shown above, in alleys and teaches in what looks like a parking garage brings to mind all those people who insist on lavish health clubs with juice bars and other 5 star settings and facilities. A good example of how it's not what you have but the will you have to get what you want in this (strength and health) or anything else.

      So, I wanna ask a question here. I heard that Bagua Zhang is so opposite from movie. In movie, Bagua Zhang is striking while in reality, Bagua Zhang is throw and takedown martial art. Is that true? 😅

    Nice, but was hoping for a more direct comparison of the spear movements to each of the five elements.

    There's an old Xingyi form called "San Guan Ch'uan" that has some of the primordial foundations of what later developed into some of the Elements and Animals. It's apparently so old that no one knows where it came from. I think it's name is perhaps a variation of "San Quan" from the Three Fists from Dai Style Xinyi. Anyway, I have only found this form in one family. None of the others has heard of it. Any input? Has anyone heard of this form?

    • @roselischool8554
      @roselischool8554 2 роки тому +1

      San guan. It’s not a variation of san quan. It’s a short hand description of force transmission though the body. Secrets in plain sight.

    Why Xingyi is Neijia Quan? Why I only see powerful external movements only? That emphasise on strength?

    • @shankarsatheesan6846
      @shankarsatheesan6846 Рік тому

      Do you think he's going to magically channel lightning through himself to punch someone? He's striking with good technique, same as any good kickboxer or Muay Thai practitioner

    • @MasterZhang
      @MasterZhang Рік тому

      Because the internal/external divide is arbitrary nonsense that Sun Lutang invented to market his hybrid xingyi/taiji style. All "internal" arts use "powerful external movements", and all "external" arts use the whole "use the enemy's strength against them" schtick that internal arts claim are their unnique attribute.

    • @NotReallyHere198
      @NotReallyHere198 9 місяців тому +2

      Because while this video had a strong emphasis in external movement, it's the breathing part the key element (in Neijia), see how the Sifu puts a strong focus on his breathing when deploying his movements, external has that as well but internal has a mind focus, a meditative aspect, he even explains the internal slapping motion key in internal styles.

    Between ages 5 and 25 I was in a dozen fights, some serious, some multiple opponents, after one attack I needed stitches to close a wound on my face. Then April 1, 1998 I quit drinking, quit tobacco, ran, lost weight, ate right, and started studying Chinese Martial Arts (plus other arts including Ju Jitsu, Escrima, etc.).
    After four years of daily practice I became very good at fighting, fought in a tournament, bounced at bars, and twenty plus years later can report having never had to use my skills on the street. It has come close twice, once in USA and once in South Africa, both times there was two of them. However my complete willingness to fight convinced my opponents that this was a losing engagement so they declined and left me alone.
    I am now in my fifties, happily married, enjoy good health, respect from others, and have an abundance of chi. So my advice for any young person reading this: please start training today, pick whatever art interests you and is close to your house, then practice. The results take years but the benefits are better than gold.

    I don't like to practice Xingyi. It is too linear and aggressive for me. I did start to develop a little Monkey and Eagle Boxing though, which is cool. I am one of the Dragon and Crane energy experts of Boxing and Fencing. Silat and Escrima. Now, Taiji and Bagua.

    If you are honest to yourself, you know you can't do anything in a real street fight or mma competition. Learn Yiquan of Wang XiangZhai and also, experience mma training and sparring. Do not lie to yourself.
