    Having owned both machines, I will say that unless you are doing a lot of towing, the compact commercial is the best bet. Especially if you're a 1 man operation. The smaller frame size is easier to work around.

      Makes sense. To be honest even using the compact I wanted a 2nd person there to load the lift and get stuff away from the machine too. Both machines are so fast.

    Great side by side comparison video Bob! I learned something. So many great models it’s hard to keep them straight 😂 Great work once again!!👊🏻

    Great comparison video, Bob! I love my 28c because of the simplicity and smaller footprint. I have added the table extension and the oil cooler to the original magnum package.

      @billobermeyer660 which part of the splitting process has the table extension helped? More time to grab the splits before the fall off the ground? Am looking at adding the table extension to my 28C with a farm conveyor, with the table extension serving as a set of grizzly bars.

      @@thefirewooddoctor Thanks for asking. Mainly to keep the splits from falling to the ground. Also, to have a holding area when splitting very large rounds. Last, to have room to stack a pile of splits before moving them to a secondary location. Not sure how the extension would work as grizzly bars...

      Thanks Bill! I think the sorting table extension is a must for me.

    I love my 35C. If I had to do it again I would have gotten the electric start so I could add the oil cooler.

    I'd love to get a 35HO or SHO with attached covneyor. Hopefully WR makes one within the next year.

    I have the 28C and can load the log lift very easy from either side of the lift. It looks like the fender on the HO might restrict loading on the fender side a bit. If I were taking it on the highway at all I would have bought the HO but that's not the case for me. Another good vid Bob!

    I like the smaller foot print. Lot easier to walk around. Less space to store. My splitter stay in the yard all but couple times a year. Then it cost less as well I thought was best fit for me.

    Nice machines. I convinced my neighbor "Dave" to cut loose with some cash and he decided on a 28C. I'm looking forward to when he gets it in Sept. (I think.) Will try to get a video when it arrives. Pretty sure he decided against the suspended axle as no plans to tow it far.

    If I were to buy a $10,000 log splitter, I would absolutely upgrade the cheapo $25 Quick-Pin No-Latch coupler that comes with it to a more rugged coupler like a Demco EZ latch. It's only $50 more.

    Is there a small difference in beam height between the 2 models?
    .
    Mabe just a optical thing?
    but there seems to be a slight difference between them in the video.

    • @BacktoBob1
      @BacktoBob1 Місяць тому +2

      Yes actually I should have mentioned that. The beam height on 28C is 31 inch, and the 28 HO is 32 inch.

    • @BGWenterprises
      @BGWenterprises Місяць тому +1

      @@BacktoBob1 it just seemed like there was a minor difference.
      Tire size changes, could make 1 inch go ether way.
