I spent today, one of the hotter humid days, out splitting with the 17VS. Never had any intentions of even splitting wood today. I ended up filling a stacked basket and was drenched in sweat. Great workout and a blast of a machine to run. Thank you Bob!
I hate to sound whiny, but you guys have got to update the "17VS:" decal - It looks homemade while all of your other branding / decals look great, very professional
Good video 👍 Thank you for showing how the 17VS trails behind your pickup. That last part showing the trunk rounds was nasty and gnarly 😂 Good splitting
At 23:36 when you let the one log laying down have it about 3 times before it gave in was pretty funny. Have to add that to my repertoire for those twisted ones :-)
:) twist it, flip it, turn it, flop it, spin it, rotate it, - 17vs is WAY more fun than a horizontal. Good vid, Bob! Excellent point at end (not worth it).
Love these videos! I’m very interested in this machine primarily for smokers and fire pits. I’m curious what the process would be for making chunks…split and then take it to a bandsaw or some other saw or start out with smaller rounds?
Great job Bob, I was waiting for this video. I wonder if you could do the 17 VSC show us how good that tows down the road. i’m very interested in the 17 VSC thank you. Hope to see it in a video coming up soon.

Yesterday we had nice weather, cool in the evening. Hope its heading your way, thanks for watching Doug!
@@OneEyeCustoms how is the VS to use on a hot and humid day compared to other splitters you've used?
@@thefirewooddoctor they all suck to run on a hot humid day, but something about the vertical splitters that just makes them more fun to run.
@@thefirewooddoctor they all seam to be the same, Hot and Humid…
This is the real world use that I want to see. Splitters being used.
Thank you for watching! Will try to do more content like this as the opportunities present themselves.

Thought you stole my splitter it’s identical. Great splitting Bob.
Fun fact - your splitter was the first one that I ever did video with at Wolfe Ridge!

Haha yep, some good stuff in there.

Thanks for watching, I really wanted to show the ease of good logs and the hassle of nasty stuff.
Just brought the same splitter home from Faith Farm in NC.
Now I gotta get to work!
Awesome, what color did you get?
Good to know how well the VS tows! Great video Bob!👊🏻
Thanks Todd!
Hey Bob , nice splitting with the 17VS . 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks Del!
Great video on the 17 VS. I think you cover all the bases. Great job
Thank you Ricky!
Some good splitting with the 17vs.
Thank you!
Another great video Bob, keep making more. Awesome equipment guys!!
Thank you for the support Pat!
Did not know you did split wood house calls! 😇😇😇
Me neither haha, multitasking. Helped a friend and got some good demo material out of it.

I tow my SHO all the time, and i get looked at just about every time it leaves the yard. I can say it tracks behind the truck at 70mph no problem..
The suspended axle on the HO, SHO, and VS are really nice!

I towed a VSC 600 miles to SW Mo and it tows great. Lots of people staring wondering what it was LOL.
I get the same thing when my SHO is out. Especially when I am at 70mph
Thank you, like Chris said it tows just as well. The suspended axle helps a lot and the weight balance is really good with the VS and VS-C.
One bad a$$ splitter!👍💪👍
Thanks Jeremiah!
Nice job Bob. How critical is it for the 17VS to be level?
Not super critical. They are super stable, even without having the legs down. Thanks Brent!
Thanks Brent!
What did your friend have to say about this style of splitter?
Well, they were both impressed but one wants to sell firewood now too!
What is the maximum length you can split with this machine?
Standard stroke length is 20", we also offer a 24" option, thanks!
@@WolfeRidge thanks, 24” is preferred for my outdoor boiler!
