Wait does this mean Bubba Ray and Devon aren't brothers ?
Jack B Nimble 🤣🤣🤣
Next thing you know, they'll tell us that the Dirty Davis Brothers weren't really brothers.
Bubba Ray Dudley, Dances with Dudley, Big Richard Dudley, Sign Guy Dudley, DeVon Dudley, Spike Dudley and Dudley Dudley were all brothers weren't they?
They did have the same Father, but different Mothers. You do remember that ECW Storyline?
I remember when Edge and Christian were brothers.
The artwork used for these videos is hilarious. Tells a great story with a single picture that perfectly complements what JC talks about. Great work by Travis Heckel.
I'm now 52 years of age. I was not a toddler. I thought they were brothers. WOW!!!
Gorgeous Jimmy was a fantastic heel in world class. The fans would chant, "go, david, go!".
Jimmy would sink in a chin lock and reply, "he's not going anywhere!"
The strange thing is that Ole and Arn Anderson are not really brothers yet actually looked a lot a like.
Arn was Ole's "nephew."
Can't remember the full name he went in an earlier territory, but do remember it was Marty something
@@CoyoteDuran1 nope,
@@jonathanwaters2624 Nope? Arn was billed as Ole's "nephew". Also as a "brother" to Ole. Just depended on the storyline.
@@scottfrye7882 Marty Lunde Ole liked him because he Wrestled like Gene Anderson Ric Flair introduced him to Ole
Wasn't Lars Anderson a babyface while Gene and Ole were heels more often than not?
The Jimmy Garvin/ Ric Flair / Precious/ J J Dillon story line was one of the hilarious storyline of all time.
I thought Jimmy and Ron Garvin were brothers when I was younger but they seemed more believable as brothers than Road warrior animal and Johnny Ace in real life
Randy Fowler ron was Jimmy stepdaddy in real life
@@davemcvey9966 who is Randy Fowler
@@chrischar9428 Randy Fowler is the original poster that Dave Mcvey was responding to.
Did anybody believe that a Johnny and Jimmy Valiant were actual brothers?
Billed from New York, one with Pittsburgh accent and the other with Tennessee drawl.
They were stepfather and stepson. Ron was married to Jimmy's mother at one time.
Ewww lol
Agree
Still gonna listen to these separate clips 👌
I thought they were brothers as a kid.
I thought they were brothers until this minute. I always wondered about Terry Garvin as well, especially when he stopped using the last name in GCW when Ronnie came in despite the fact that they were both face.
I thought Ronnie was his dad
@@momosupremacy8349 Stepdad. That makes Precious Ronnie's stepdaughter in law.
@@momosupremacy8349 I think Ronnie was married to Jimmy's mother. There is a video of Ronnie talking about it on UA-cam.
The same..as wise man once said, Say Whaat??? lol
Well, one was gorgeous and one was rugged. It was clearly a beautiful family.
I'm so old i remember Jimmy Garvin when he was Beau James.
I remember when he was World Class champion good ol days
@@charlierobles316 what year was that?
@@johnrotuno1077 1983or 84
@@charlierobles316 even before that. Late 70's
@@charlierobles316 i remember Jimmy as far back as his face run in Florida Championship Wrestling. Once he turned, he became pretty difficult for me to watch. Never really cared for his gimmick after that. Never really liked Ronnie either. JB
That Thez story is hilarious
Man i keep backing it up. Hilarious 😂😂😂
The Garvin stomp is an underrated move
Orton started using it for awhile
Way before one Heart break kid did it
Far better than that this Jericho is using as his finisher these days. LMAO
Randy Orton's Version doesn't look nearly as impressive as Ronnie's. Plus you could hear his chops and punches through The Mics.
Their feud with Rougeau brothers was one of the best ever.
I remember that so well. Great segment. It was kind of emotional for me because I thought they were brothers. The fireball to the face looked real. Jimmy's emotion and jumping on you looked real. Good stuff
I loved this episode of NWA! It was awesome 👌
Jim has a memory like no one else in wrestling
He was smart enough to write things down and take detailed notes.
@@nathanielbaxter533 very true
No doubt
The sound that door made when Jimmy kicked it in sounded like a gunshot! One of my favorite angles as a kid.
Yes, it was a great angle. They had a lot more matches at House Shows than we got to see on Television and Pay Per View.
Jim makes me wish that aforementioned was on Lou Thesz promo was on UA-cam! That promo may be lost in someone’s attic right now.
Just like people still think Undertaker and Kane are brothers 😂
wait what
Favorite channel on UA-cam right now!!!🔥🔥🔥
i believe the ecw angle he was talking about was when dreamer accidentally knocked sandman's cigarette in his eye. the whole locker room emptied out for that and then sandman played up that he was blind and was going to retire. then he tore the bandages off over his eyes and caned the crap out of tommy from behind. loved the lou thesz - terry garvin story there at the end. laughed my ass off.
I thought they were half-brothers, same father, different mother.
Jim and brian, keep up the great work!!!👍
Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin was CRAZY over as a heel or face. I remember when they wanted to put him over Magnum soon as he went to Crockett from the AWA
Man, you made a true statement...then totally fabricated a supporting statement that kills your credibility. Jimmy Garvin was fantastic, heel or face, and Dusty saw him as a great talent...but Magnum was going to be his Hogan, the one to take down Flair, and Garvin was the stopgap story to get him to from Nikita to Starrcade.
The things I imagined about Precious.
She wouldn't have had you.
I would have settled for Missy or Sunshine. I was 10-11 years old at the time, so anything really would do. pro-wrestling illustrated with pics of any of the female valets or that one wrestling magazine with the glossy paper that had adds in the back of it for vhs tapes with women in bikini's fighting.
@@denniswhite1317 Precious was a woman who stuck by her man, both in kayfabe and in real life. That's why Jim and Patti are still together now in old age. It's also in kayfabe why the Garvins vs Flair feud was such fun - Gorgeous Jimmy had enough trust in Precious not to be bothered by Flair's mind games and eventually the three of them had fun turning the tables on Flair until in the end Ronnie actually won The Belt from him.
wait... you mean I'm NOT Hulk Hogan's brother, Brother?
Hulk Hogan and Dizzy Hogan!
I saw Jim Garvin, manager. Never realized it was Jimmy.
Ronnie is like 75 today.
Damn, I feel old .
Loved the Garvin Stomp
This is funny I never even thought they weren’t brothers
The fireball was real
CGI
good ol' flash paper, ronnie made jim use too much though
Ronnie was one of my favorite wrestlers.
I'm the dude playing the dude who's another dude.
the dude abides
I had seen Garvin outside Crockett and when he arrived, I wondered but never thought they were brothers because no one ever said anything about it.
Then the Cornette angle happened and Jimmy made that whole thing work and for the first time, I was really into Jimmy Garvin and I liked the bad guys back then.
Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo were brothers, but the WWF never mentioned that back in the 1980s.
I loved the whole Garvin Brothers Gimmick.
Wrestling was big at the skating rink during these days and I dont remember this ever being questioned.
That was the angle that hooked me as a wrestling fan.
I believe he went to ICW with the Poffos
Wasn't Ron Jimmy's stepdad
Yeah that's it !!! That's what it says on Wikipedia !!!
Ron is Jimmy's father in law.
@@MrRudyc85 Was, he and Jimmy's mom split long ago
The burning angle was great ... everything after it went downhill ... the Rougeau vs. Garvin matches were amazing though.
Great Shoot Today Jim!!😎🐐🐐
Paul Orndorff had a kayfabe brother as well.
Another one I didn’t know until more recently though Is that Superstar Billy Graham began as (& quietly just stayed as) kayfabe Brother to Dr Jerry Graham & Eddie Graham.
All the Grahams except Eddie and Mike were unrelated.
All the Andersons prior to the 1990s were unrelated. Then Gene and Ole each had a son join the business (Brad/Brian respectively)
Walter Siebler and Lance Vaughan were not related to each other nor the Adkisson family.
On the other hand, the WWF never told its audience about Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo (although all old Memphis and ICW fans knew) and didn't reveal that the British Bulldogs and the Hart Foundation were all related until 1992.
Ornforff had a legit brother
other famous fake brothers: Joe Leduc and Paul Leduc
Bought into the undertaker/kane relation as a yound lad, the dudleys as well. Hell Edge and Christian were brothers in my head canon. As a kid, tag teams were always family in some kind of way . Dumb lol
those are real though.
get this: everytime Hogan says Brother, I KNOW he means me.
figure THAT out!
...i'm such a mark LOL
No really !!! Gosh you must have been very young at that time
Adrian Carlos yea i was born in 94
Identical Cousins is a great gimmick too
The question makes little sense to me, as it isn't like they were billed as identical twins. I have an older brother, and I can count the number of people who could see any sort of family resemblance to ask if we were related. We don't have the same name, and accents can be dictated by immersion in an area for awhile.
I remember Jimmy Garvin aka Beau James as Ray Stevens manager in 70s then 2 years later returning as Jim Garvin wrestler
There was another Terry Garvin (not Terry Joyal) that was Terry Garvin Simms. He wrestled in WCCW, USWA, GWF, etc. He passed away about a year and a half ago.
Yes, Terry "The Beauty" Garvin and Mark "The Beast" Guleen
And he took the secret of YOMAMBA to the grave.
Simms became a half decent grappler after he dropped the "Gorgeous Jimmy" image, really thought this guy was gonna head to a bigger promotion in the 90s...
Lars was still a babyface after Ole turned on Dusty. Ole cut a promo on him for being a "goody two shoes".
The Garvins had a big feud in Georgia with Ricky Gibson in the early 1970's.
Mark Lisenby That was Ronnie and Terry Garvin
@@alexxx679 yes, and Jimmy was with them as mainly their mouthpiece. Ricky and Jimmy had a few matches in Columbus against each other.
Yep, people really thought they were brothers. I remember arguing, "no way, he'd have to be adopted", with relatives.
I think it would be a pretty good angle, to have brother-vs-brother- one heel, one babyface; you could either have them begin on opposite sides, and say that they fell out- possibly because of the evil brother’s association with some other heel wrestlers; or you could actually have them begin on the same side, and have one turn on the other, and side with his brother’s enemy- with the heel brother claiming that his brother had either always hogged the limelight, treat him like shit, stood in his way of becoming a star, etc.
Then you could do the old Undertaker/Kane angle, where Taker refused to fight his brother; the babyface brother could try to persuade his heel sibling to stop hanging out with the other bad guy/s, who he says are responsible for turning them against each other.
The heel brother could then go out of his way to prove that he’s the best, and goad his brother to fight him, like by attacking other babyfaces- particularly those that are close to his brother; but the babyface brother refuses to fight him, until he finally goes too far, and does something horrendous.
The feud between them could go on for a good while; perhaps, after a bit of goading, the babyface brother reluctantly agrees to fight his sibling; but, when he gets in the ring with him, the audience can tell that he can’t actually face doing anything that will hurt his brother, and ends up losing because of this- possibly due to a bit of interference from the heel brother’s friends.
After his first loss, the babyface brother could then say that he made a mistake getting in the ring with his brother, and that he won’t do it again; he then pleads with his brother to stop listening to the other bad guys- who he says have poisoned his mind.
But the heel brother isn’t having any of it, and is completely incensed, that people think he only beat his brother because he let him win/had help; so he vows to go after everybody his brother cares about, until he agrees to another fight.
It could then go on like that for a good while: with the heel brother, and his bad guy comrades, doing everything they can, to make the babyface brother’s life hell, until he agrees to another match.
Then, once the heel brother goes too far, and does something unthinkable to a person his brother cares about: whether it be his tag team partner, manager, wife/girlfriend, etc, it sends the babyface over the edge, and he agrees to the match, vowing that, this time, he won’t go easy on him.
The second match could either be the big blow off: possibly inside a cage, or a street fight, etc; or maybe the second match ends in a DQ/no contest, when the heel brother’s faction of bad guys attacks the babyface brother before the match starts.
That could then lead into a cage match, so none of the heel brother’s team can interfere; this would probably be the big finish of the angle; though this would end up being a really brutal affair, where they both went at each other hard, at times, the babyface brother would still be reluctant to hurt his brother, despite everything he’d done to him.
But it would end up with the babyface winning the match; he’d try to make up with his brother afterwards, and shake his hands, but his brother would either refuse and walk away; or he’d pretend to shake hands, and hug, before once again turning on him, and hitting with his finishing move, before walking away, and, once again, joining his evil faction.
You could then either carry on with this storyline; perhaps the babyface brother goes after other members of his brother’s faction, and makes them pay for turning them against each other- though that could have been part of the original program; or the two brothers continue their program- with the babyface brother refusing to give up on his sibling.
Or you could go on to other matters, and storylines; but, if you wanted to, after a while, you could do a redemption angle, with the heel brother; where he possibly comes to the eventual rescue of his sibling, after he’s brutally attacked by members of the heel brother’s old group- then have a program, where the reunited brothers team up to take on them…
But those are just a few ideas, which I’ve cobbled together by stealing from many other well-known wrestling angles…which is what it’s all about haha.
Ronnie was Jimmys stepfather even though they were less than 10 years apart in age
Yeah I always thought they were brothers.
Jim Cornette: every third word out of his mouth is "fuck" but won't say "faggot" even in the context of a direct quote.
He's a liberal goofucky
Why are two brothers fighting to hard to believe?
It worked with Bret and Owen.
We are all brothers in Hulk Hogans eyes..... Brother
Jimmy Superfly Snuka was another one who would always call you "brother".
Ronnie wrestle for Angelo Poffo..Randy Savage nemisie ICW
I legit thought Edge and Christian were brothers
he'll I believed it had no reason to doubt it
I was a kid watching WWF in the late 80s, and I never knew what all the references to the "Terry Garvin school of self defense" meant until much later!
Wtf! Lol I’ve been fooled for 30+ years! I have a harder time believing MachoMan and Lanny are brothers then Jimmy and Ronnie not being brothers.
As a 12 year old i never seen or heard of Terry but i would look at tbe garvins and think Ronnie must be his uncle or older cousins i just knew they couldn't be brothers but obviously related tbey were in same place with same lastname
The brother angle would have been better if they executed it with the mulkeys
Well y'all got me,cause I actually believed they were brothers..as much they pushed it.
I don't think having one face brother and one heel brother is that hard to explain in kayfabe. Just have the announcers mention their relation and then make some comment about how the relationship is strained. There are tons of real-life siblings that don't get along so it's believable.
Lou getting kicked in the butt story is funny.
LOU THESZ was a former 9 or 15 times world champion (depending on how they count them) and one of those reigns came at the expense of GORGEOUS GEORGE!
no. Gorgeous George Wagner, who despite the gimmick was actually a shooter, won the old Boston AWA in a doublecross over Don Eagle in 1951. A few days later he challenged Lou Thesz for the NWA title and got his butt kicked but the AWA title was not on the line. Don Eagle did win back the AWA belt after promoters paid George a vast sum to come back and do the job, but the damage was done, the NWA champion had destroyed the brand new AWA champion. The Boston AWA died soon thereafter.
@Kurt Van Der Bogarde\If your info is correct you could have been a source for the Gorgeous George Biography! ua-cam.com/video/B-b58yx0Cu0/v-deo.html I'll watch it again just in case I goofed from not paying attention!
I always believed it and I prefer to keep that belief
The Garvins looked nothing alike in the 80s, but in the 70s it was a little different. Ron had longer hair then and Jimmy was thinner, clean-shaven, and with blond(ish, dyed) hair, they looked a lot closer.
I think we all know the "step son" stayed behind with Terry Garvin...
So what you're saying is... Lou Thesz wouldn't have worked well with Goldust or DX?
Anyone know the date on the episode when garvin gets burned.
Early 87
bothers in arms?
Wait they aren't really brothers?
How is Corny going to eat that turkey without teeth?
Brothers don't have to sound alike, Ronnie could say he was raised in Canada,(like Chris Jericho who was born in New York) they looked about the same age ,same type build. It's not totally out place
Whats up with Terry Garvin
Momo Supremacy he was apart of the WEF/E Cream Team which was a pedophile faction.
@@Mr.Majestic77 daym sounds like a winner. Has Ronnie ever commented on it?
He ran a very successful school of self defense. Steve Lombardi was his most prolific graduate.

Who cares Jimmy Garvin have one of the best movies of all time and if you challenge a dealer's Brothers it was funny Ronnie Garvin would hit you
The Garvins vs The Andersons ( Ole & Arn) = 2 fake family teams colliding. I miss the 80's😢👍

Triple H 2000 is one of the greatest years a wrestler has ever had, the physique, the matches so underrated and overlooked.
Because he worked with Steve Austin, The Rock and Kurt Angle.
