- This is an overview of my 1991 Ford F-250 Heavy Duty. It has a fairly new 351 Windsor (5.8L), a K&N air filter, and otherwise, is completely stock. I will be painting it soon, and would also like to upgrade the exhaust and various other things. Start up and exhaust is at 3:50. See under the hood at 5:17.
Nice ride 👍
90 F350 "work truck" owner here (has the 5.8) Solid trucks. Easy to work on
Jonathan Bradley Thanks! That’s for sure.
I’ve got one too 91 f250 it’s been a work truck right up to present day. Original engine with trans rebuilt 20 years ago. 330k miles
i gotta say the truck looks like it was used in the army thats cool
i got an '87 f-150 xlt lariat. i love that truck only 69k original miles it has a 5.8l motor like yours
Nice truck, my friend just got one and is going to customize it a bit
The Histoadian Thanks! I wish I had the time to customize this one some more.
Heard the 351 can handle power
......and kryzi man i lov
Dash lights are extremely easy to fix.
How fuel economy roughly Do you know how many mpg's?
Haha, not many. I used to go through a quarter of a tank in 50 miles.
is the 351 good? i live in sweden and im thinking of getting one :p
It's a pretty good engine. It depends on if you are getting a crate engine or getting a an old truck with the engine. The 351W isn't the best engine for power, but it works fine for what I use the truck for.
Swedish_Steel Old truck motors are all torque. I’ve got a 1996 F-150 with the 302W (I’ve got videos on my account of me gunning it) and there’s a big difference in driving it and driving a truck that’s just a few years newer. If I’m in Overdrive and I press the gas down just enough to get some speed, you immediately feel all the torque it makes.
@@chimichangapoops6244 And you can make these older motors make more HP easily with just a cam and heads.
I own an 1987 izusu 26 foot box truck with a 5.8 diesel and I think it's this engine
The ford 5.8 wasn’t diesel. You may have a Chevy 6.2 diesel or a ford 7.3 non turbo
Nowadays I don't see too many of those boxy style Ford trucks out on the roads like I use to.
Kevin Richards Same here. This one is still runnin!
@@AJSWoodworks I have a 1994 Ford F-150 Lightning which has a similar body style to that one there & recently I just put a new computer in it. 11 years ago I had the motor, tranny, & differential all 3 rebuilt & also 1 year ago I had it repainted the same original color black. So yep I've poured a lot of money into it.
M5r2 conversion?
Nope. Stock ZF-5
how much did it cost to replace your engine?
Sorry for the 1 year reply, haha. It cost around $7000-$8000 including the engine, I believe.
AJS Woodworks 7k? Isn't a 351w like 2grand all day?
Is it fuel injected?
dev_web Yep, it’s one of the first years to have EFI.
AJS Woodworks ok cool thanks
yes, thats why its also called, 5.8l efi v8
@@AJSWoodworks actually it was founded in ford trucks in 1986
You no de problem elimination secundari pump in change aire valve because the airo is to mach check in change intake gasket good lock✌
Cats are probably clogged asf
Ha, probably
Chase Howie Only one cat. And it’s right there under the truck so you can cut that sucker off.
Remove the K&N, the filter element lets alot of shit through.
@CJ Malone You should learn about it before replying.
Skip the spray paint and switch to Plasti Dip.
Heinzkitz Velvet Haha, no thanks. I don’t particularly like the way it looks.
AJS Woodworks You prefer the look of cheap spray paint flaking & peeling away?
To each their own. ✌️
Heinzkitz Velvet It was primarily peeling off because I didn’t spray on a primer or sand the surface well enough. I have repainted it more recently and have had better results.
