  • Welcome to the 12th episode of #MakerBreak Season 2!
    Measurements: beltsandboxes.com/wp-content/...
    This week we found the perfect chair to use by the fire, but not at the perfect cost. So we made one of our own out of a $20 piece of pine! Now we just need to make three more for the rest of the family. Put down your tools, it's time to take a Maker Break!
    You can find the full article right here: beltsandboxes.com/build-a-fir...
    Don't want to make one? These guys sell them on Etsy! www.etsy.com/listing/27392281...
    Special thanks to ‪@HARTTools‬ for sponsoring this episode and reminding us that we can build anything we can imagine, if we #DoItWithHART

    What a neat design. Especially when you get to choose what angle the back is. Keeping this video!😊😊😊

    Great build. Totally agree with outside winter activity. I grill outside all winter long, even in blizzards and the sub-zero temps we're getting somewhere to the west of you. Snowed every night I grilled the last month and a half, beautiful. May have to check this chair out for a grill-side seat.

    Looks like a great way to sit down in a puddle of rain lol. I’d either drill some drain holes or space the seat away from the back a little bit so the incline gives the rain somewhere to go instead of pooling. Nice work none the less though. One-board projects are always pretty neat!

    Nice looking and functioning chair. I would cut a hand opening in the backrest top, glue on a horizontal reinforcement, round it all. Then radius the back bottom of the legs. Then add some aluminum or sheet steel cover over the rounded. Then just pull it around. But then again, I haven't owned much I didn't modify. Again, its sharp! And the tall back will be good for a windbreak, seeing ya sit upwind...for the 2 minutes until it changes 180°.

    l One suggestion for your chair
    Make a handle at the top of the chair so you can carried easy in-and-out 😆🍻🍺😊

    • @MakerBreak
      @MakerBreak  3 роки тому +2

      AGREED! This is NOT a light chair, and we'll want to be able to move them based on which way the wind is blowing the smoke. Great idea Konaman! I'll add the handle to the plans.

    sweet build , looks a little small for your frame size. Wonder if it could be deeper with a few mods. Also you could make the back slid into place like they do viking chair builds and would make it super easy to store.

    This is a great video. I'm on my way to Lowes to buy my 2x12.
    What I'd like to know is the height measurements for placement of the sea between the supports, and the back support on the backrest. Oh, and the set back for the seat from front of supports. Can you add them to the pdf?

  • @Thejrb11

    I think to modify it add armrests with a cup holder, and make the seat a bit deeper by attaching the backrest to the back edge of the seat. Will give another 1.5” of seat to sit my fat ass on!

    • @MakerBreak
      @MakerBreak  3 роки тому +6

      Hey Brian! I'm working on them. I decided instead of the Sketchup file, I'm going to just make a simple PDF you can download since the cuts are so simple. I should have it up tomorrow.

    • @MakerBreak
      @MakerBreak  3 роки тому +1

      If you don't want to wait, just know that the seat (and back support) are cut at 25 degrees, the side supports have a 15 degree cut in the front just for looks, and you have to angle the backrest 11.5 degrees back (or close to it). Good luck!

    Sooo why can't a log do the job? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Fires are synonymous with sitting on a log.
