    Idk where to start...so 1st lets give credit where it's due. I absolutely LOVE this build!! I've been keeping my eye out for a neck saving solution to stargazing for a while now. One that doesn't involve laying on the ground or the need for a waterproof blanket, especially since the nights are already getting pretty chilly in the N.E. states. Second, the sheer simplicity of the design is outstanding; made even better by the space saving breakdown. I also love that (almost) anybody could build this. From no experience to someone who only has access to a few basic hand tools. You guys have more than earned my sub w/this super short video. Looking forward to seeing what other gems are on your channel...after I make my own chair of course! 🙃

    love these African birthing chairs. YES!!! That in fact is what they are. Introduced to Europe in the 19th century.

    • @FridayWorkshop
      @FridayWorkshop  Рік тому +4

      It turns out we’re probably both right. Ha these chairs are much much older than that. The source is difficult to prove and historically debated. Some examples of these chairs are found around > 2000BCE in Babylon. It’s very possible they are older and were discovered independently in multiple societies.
      Great post and thanks for letting me research some fun facts!!!

    Malawi has the most carvings on the style of chair.

    Great chairs awesome videos what is the thickness of the board you used and does the hole have to be on an angle

    • @FridayWorkshop
      @FridayWorkshop  Рік тому +1

      The hole is not at an angle. That’s what makes it grab. We use standard 2” construction lumber.

    Is this the normal playback speed?

      In 2022 we tried to speed up some of our videos to make them more exciting. We have over 250 videos now and have learned a lot about video editing. I’d check out some of our newer stuff. Please subscribe and enjoy.

    Those are on my list of to dos. Maybe make it out of compressed sawdust and syrup or salt so you can leave it in the woods for the animals after?

    Those are nice! Okay.. I have a suggestion (it might be difficult). What about a computer made out of wood? Like the case is wood and it has an actual computer inside.

    • @FridayWorkshop

      Thanks. Oh a computer case, or a raspberry pi case sounds like a fun build!!!
