It's good to claim your quest reward first upon entering a city, which might influence how you spend your gold.
Hah, loved it! Totally recognized your voice from the Dice Tower vids too (you helped me buy Black Sonata), despite your image never appearing (to my knowledge). The bit at 25:00 broke m heart, though - that Pleasant Weather was a positive effect! Extra movement and easier to succeed at Navigate rolls! Heh.. for better or worse, however, this is a game where I too pass up positives just because the added accounting isn't worth it.
Great Video .. Rule that was missed: If you move to the edge of the map, ADD a new HEXtile. Also, when rolling a HEX during the skill check there are benefits (nothing was really missed during the survival critical success; but just wanted to mention).

So, you NEVER ditch pleasant weather!
Giving you a -2 on your skill roll is good as you need to roll low :)
And the +1 mouvement is aweosome to be able to move farther away while being cautious.
Also, there are spots on your role mat to write the actual value of your masteries. You should use them.
Otherwise, great video !
Besides I suppose that a Nature card can not be avoided, as written in the manual. If you think raining or snowing it is not related to your movement (reckless or cautious)!!
Plus its "Unavoidable" so you can't ignore it
And the -2 would have made that roll for the first Navigate quest a Crit Success giving the bonus to Explore skill
@@LordTalismond Not quite. The bonus only occurs during the skil phase.
Generally there is a reason to ditch nature condition right from the getgo. But not within the first edition and with the second only if you are playing with return to the valley. Things get dicey quite quickly with early weather.
That's a deep game, yet sandboxes enough, thanks for teaching. I like roll-random games more and more...

Ok so Im pretty late to the party, I just picked up the game and your play through was just what I needed. I do have a question about the column left of the back pack. Im following the rules book and using the Troll Sorcerer example they use. In the book the values for that column from top to bottom is 12, 6, and 1, For the top value it says attack + first mastery x2. Which should be 3+2x2 = 10. But in the example in the book its 12. Then for the second value it shows attack + first mastery so 3+2 = 5, but they show 6? The last value is second mastery /3 so 5./3 rounded off = 1. Which is what is displayed. I cant figure out how they came up the the 12 and the 6. But I noticed your role card for your character during your play didnt even have any values there. So is this something I dont need to worry about? Thanks!
At this point you’ll have to ask on BGG-I don’t remember the rules in detail anymore! :(

Just let the marker dry a bit between making notes and it should be ok! I am a teacher and use white boards all the time. This is my main trick. ;)
I could get lost in this game.
Not very visually pleasing, hope the gameplay is fun.
