    "Krasvetelia. The sun sets on this cold and desolate place. Once a beautiful land of craggy mountains, fertile valleys, and deep bottomless chasms, it has now wilted like a rose in winter.
    The small kingdom, tucked away from the rest of the world, has had few rulers in its time. None certainly as evil as their current. It is rumored that Mirza Noctis came to power some two-hundred years ago. Eternally youthful, the man is whispered to have controlled the bloodlines of this place, carefully arranging unions between noble families and culling those of weaker bloodlines.
    Now, the peoples of Krasvetelia live a harsh life, starved of happiness. Writing is outlawed and the caste system in place prevents all but a handful of nobles from holding titles and land in Noctis’s name. Up until recently, starving to death was most of Krasvetelian’s worries. But more and more, people are going missing in this land. Devoured by darkness, some say...
    The scholars, left to themselves in their remote monasteries, have recently unearthed a terrible secret: Mirza Noctis is working tirelessly, his agents harvesting blood from the local populous. Years of unattachment to this land have left the people mostly unaware of his actions. But a terrifying fact is now clear: Noctis is working towards a massive blood ritual. He has all but locked away any tools that could be used to defeat him, and the scholars worry he is just beginning. A greater threat is about to befall the land..."

    Thanks for the playthrough Adam! I have the first 3 volumes but am yet to get Sands to the table. The theme of this one really appeals to me (probably my favourite of all of them so far) and some of the new/altered mechanics are cool too. Told myself I didn't need this one too haha but it looks good!

    played this game for the first time last night and it was pretty good, a LOT of rules though, by the time we went through them all we ran out of time to finish the game
    we did run into one class question that i was hoping someone could help with
    i was playing as *The Medium* so i had spirits that i used to fight with against other monsters
    the problem is the Spirits are monsters that inflict status ailments, so do status ailments affect enemies?
    if so, how does that work? can the enemy get rid of the status ailment? so if i can inflict "frightened" on an enemy is it permanently stun locked? cus according to the guide, frighted targets can only defend
    or do i not deal any status ailments listed on the spirit. and just do the flat damage?

    Cool I like the game narrative, nice touch!!! Quick question: do you think expansion are worth it? or just go to the base game for each volume... thanks

    • @klinktastic
      @klinktastic 3 роки тому +2

      I have all the expansions to date, and will get this one. However, i have yet to even open one. However, I see myself playing DMN quiet a bit, as I love the gothic horror genre.

    • @patriziopastore9895
      @patriziopastore9895 3 роки тому +1

      @@klinktastic thank bro i will consider that... just i have a feeling that the core box will be enough as usual if i will take the expansion is just for collection purpose

    • @klinktastic
      @klinktastic 3 роки тому +1

      @AspiretotheStars I mean the expansions add some extra layers. But bear in mind that there are already multiple win conditions/ways to play the game, 100s of race/role combos, etc in the base game. I have only played maybe 15 total plays among the 3 games I have. Barely a scratch on the surface of the content. I would say, the expansions have great content. I'm just not there yet with my amount of playing. I have young kids, so my gaming time is not what it once was.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  3 роки тому +2

      For me, I consider them worth it. However, if you're unsure, the base game is more than enough to get you going and to determine if you like it enough to invest more. If you know you typically like adding more layers, customization and variety, then the expansions will bolster the game for you.

    • @patriziopastore9895
      @patriziopastore9895 3 роки тому +2

      @@RollingSolo I will like to add more layer but time is not on my side... as usual if you have kids.
      I will go with the core boxes and lets see in the future release.

    Hey Adam don't know if you've stated this but do you have to play the other hexplore it games to understand this one? Or is this game standalone?

    • @amberknight6585
      @amberknight6585 3 роки тому +4

      All Hexplore It games are standalones. However you gain experience by playing previous iterations and it benefits you at the setup of the next game. You may also combine them into one mega-game!

    • @klinktastic
      @klinktastic 3 роки тому +2

      @@amberknight6585 correct on all accounts. Core mechanics are the same across all the games. But there is quiet enough unique aspects to each game that there is a ton of replayability.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  3 роки тому +1

      Completely stand-alone or mixable. You don't need any other entries to enjoy just one of them. They'll add to what you have for larger games or extreme character customization. Cheers!

    • @klinktastic
      @klinktastic 3 роки тому +2

      @@RollingSolo Yeah, while it sounds appealing to mix the games. I find that each game has so much to explore (pun intended) that you would need to play many games before needing to start mixing and matching to extend the replayability.

  • @genPredator
    @genPredator 3 роки тому +2

    Adam, playing and already knowing Mirza Noctis, would You recommend to pick up during the campaign also previous Hexplore games for a beginner or do You think that this game would be fully enaugh to be satisfied? Is Mirza Noctis missing some very cool mechanics from the previous Hexplore games or would You say that it so far the most complete and satisfying Hexplore experiance?

    • @klinktastic
      @klinktastic 3 роки тому +2

      Hey Marcin, as someone who owns, and has played the first 3 games in the series, it seems like Mirza Noctis is maybe the most straightforward of all the games. Outside of the core mechanics though, the various win conditions and special features are unique to each game. However, you can merge them together to bring mechanics from game 1 into game 2, if you wanted. I'd say this would be a good entry point. Then when they release game 5, you could pick up the rest if you like it.

I am 100% sure they will reach their final objective to have all 6 games in the HexploreIt universe published. They have been very, very consistent.
