I built mine (based on Earl's instructions) several years ago ... mine has a level embedded into the table and a scale (both imperial and metric) on the aluminum angle. For the 'stop', I use a brass stair stringer gauge, available at most home centers ... a pack of 2 costs about $6..

Jim, this is an excellent video. However you failed to include the links to Earls Small Shop and the Chefware Kits in the description section. Yes I know you posted them in the video but I cannot link directly from that. Copying the information to paper and entering the info by hand is a real pain. What was that about lining up the next ring without measuring? He just put the piece up but did not explain what he was doing and why?

When the edge of the next ring piece is aligned parallel with the edge of the completed ring the outer edge (the new ring's radius) will be in correct position. Move the stop to that location for adding additional segments. This method works when the outside dimemtions are correctly set to the drawing and any additional material wanted (needed) is added to the INTERIOR of this ring. See the video at 14:45.
