Just tried this today. I’m 50,
I have normal to dry skin.
I used a moisturizer but no primer and applied with a beauty blender. I don’t mind it so far but i found i kept removing it when I’d go over it with my beauty blender. I had to really wring the blender out first. I don’t mind this stuff but found it did settle in the wrinkles around my mouth :( and didn’t hide my pores that great,
It seams to have a matte finish. I will try it again a few different ways to see what works best. So far it’s not too bad. One of my faves I’ve been using for about 4 years is the Chanel one in the beige bottle sorry forgot the name of it.... Angie uses the one in the black. I find the stilla one very close to the Chanel one. The cons on this are about the same as my Chanel one. Good points so far are that it is very skin like and doesn’t feel cakey or that I have makeup on, Smooth finish but even the Chanel one settles in my wrinkles ... I think as we get older there aren’t many that don’t do that :(. Side note...I’m using a 8x magnifying mirror to see the settling in my wrinkles...looking in a normal mirror I don’t really see it :)

I bought some and used it today....wow! It held up in 89 degree heat and humidity all day! I have horribly dry skin that constantly gets flakey, and this didn’t make it flake :) my skin looked radiant! Thank you! 👍🏼👍🏼

I Love this foundation . I’m 59 and have Titian red hair so I’m very fair skinned . I disliked all foundation until I bought this one I just wore my tinted sunscreen and maybe a dab of cover up if needed . Stila looks so natural, feels great and my skin looks better then it ever has looked! I wear Fair 1. It doesn’t change color or cake or get dry or shiny! Thank you !
I am so glad you reviewed this foundation. I tried a sample on my hand in an Ulta store and was surprised to see how watery the formula is. I was curious to see if any of the reviewers on YT would do a review but no one I watch regularly did. Thank you for this great review.

OMG I love this foundation! I paired it with Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder and wow! I think it will be replacing Estee Lauder Double Wear as my holy grail foundation - and I didn’t think I would ever find a foundation I liked better than that. Thank you for this review. I'm amazed at how nice it looked in natural light. You've done a lot of foundation tests where it definitely looked like a mask of foundation in natural light, and this looks so pretty and natural.

I love this foundation. It is just the right amount of everything. It also feels so light and airy. The only foundation I like more is Nyx Born to Glow. That's just because Nyx dries down to feel like a powdery silk and its a bit more luminous. Oh, and it's 10 bucks!! I honestly never would have even tried the Nyx if I hadn't received a sample with my Ulta purchase. So glad to have both these foundations.

OMG, ❤❤❤, mature skin med/ Neutral skintone, with very scattered fine lines with a few deeper lines from a lifetime of unprotected sun damage, ( shamefully) but it's also what prompted my career of 30 years as an Esthetician/ Esthetics Educator...NEVER, wore foundation till 6 months ago at age 64..Yikes, I now own an arsenal of them trying to find just ONE that looked better than my natural skin regardless of the sun damage, I tried Nars sheer glow,Lancomb Renergie,Chanel Lumere Velvet, It your skin but better CC, AlmaySmarr Shade, No 7 airbrush away, Loreal, Two Faced Foundation/ and matching concealer, Makeup 4 ever, Bare Minirals,..OMG 🤯SO MANY... Angie you did it !!! You convinced me to buy ONE more and YES,YES,and YES it is the holy Grail, I cant believe, a foundation that's like skin, does not dissapeare wrinkles but does not hi- light them either, and its exactly what I needed to have a more well blended even toned looking, real skin look...I dont mind going OFF on fun eye makeup looks even to the extreme just for the fun of it, BUT !!! FACE !!! Foundation, if it's not complimentary at least as good or better than the skin we live in A La Natural then why Bother ???

Went to get a sample last night. HOLY MOLY!!! You are so right!! I look great! Leaves my skin feeling like soft skin, not tacky with foundation or dry. I do love my AmorePacific Cushion Compact. And the Tarte Foundcealer actually worked quite nicely for me. But this Stila works on me the way you always describe the Chanel working for you. Doesn’t look like makeup sitting on my skin. I used a sponge. Looks beautiful. I’m awaiting delivery of my BK foundation brush and look forward to trying this Stila with that brush. Thanks Angie!!

watched the video and immediately went out and bought it. OMG, you are right. Amazing. I have used the Chanel since 2016 on your suggestion, then bought the new version when you posted your video. I like it because I don't have to powder the final product, but the fragrance can be overwhelming and can really sting if it seeps in my eyelash line. Stila doesnt give me the eye sting issue (so far) and no scent is a blessing. I do have to set this, I don't like my skin to feel tacky, but, so little powder is needed I don't mind at all. Thanks again, you knocked it out of the park in this recommendation. You are awesome.
I originally watched this video when you first posted it and wound up buying this foundation during the pandemic...and never tried it! I finally used it yesterday and WOW, I LOVE IT! I used a brush to apply, about 2 pumps for my full face. I have very dark under-eye circles and I felt like it covered that area well, too. Very nice to find a light, smooth, hydrating but non-oily foundation with moderate coverage that looks and feels fresh. Thank you!

I am 63 and I tried this foundation after this review and it just came off way to dry on my skin. I tried with and without sunscreen and also with and without primer. Same result so I took it back. For me the Maybelline Urban Dream Cover you did a review on works much better for me and is cheaper....win win! Thanks for all the info and research you put out there for all of us.

I haven't watched your videos in about 2 years..your videos helped me find my "holy grail" which "used to be" Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Ochre. Unfortunately as so many do they reformulated and now it is NOTHING what it used to be..so back to searching (again). As much as I hate this process of buying expensive foundations/moisturizers to find "the one"..your videos are the BEST. You seem to have the same color match.."ochre" was not a color I would have gone for but it was my favorite color on me..your skin tone seems to agree with mine. I dont always have the same experience as you (I personally do not like Chanel or IT Cosmetics)..Chanel feels heavy and "itches" my face, IT separated and also felt heavy. But you are so thorough it eliminates me from alot of guess work and expensive purchases. It still is painful to now look for a replacement but so glad you are still here. THANK YOU for all you do..your videos far out do any of the others (Im 59 by the way so appreciate how you talk to more mature faces).

I walked into Ulta today + put this on my face with my fingers from the sample rack. Holy cow, this is MY holy grail. Light 1. Looks like my skin only worlds better. I asked a salesperson and she said, I can't tell where you put it. But can I just say, I could totally see HER foundation. Cake face.

HotandFlashy will do! A recommendation from you and Lisa sounds like a winner for me. My holy grail is EL Double Wear. I’m a 46 year old ICU nurse and need my makeup to last 12 hours + and not smudge/smear with face masks/shields and if I get sweaty from CPR or turning/bathing obese people! But on my days off I want a more natural foundation that doesn’t need to hold up as good as the Double Wear. This could be a good foundation for non work days. As it is, on my days off I just wear Bare Minerals. I like the extra mineral sunscreen in it and natural look. I can wear it to the gym too, because it actually looks better with a little sweat. But it’s nice to have options! Sometimes I want a lighter foundation with no sunscreen just to wear at night if I have a dinner to go to as well.
Also on sale at Macy’s right now $33.15 (someone posted about Nordstrom before), free shipping once you hit $49, Nordstrom offering free shipping. Macy’s has nice description of each color, Nordstrom doesn’t. Macy’s has 8% back on Rakuten (Ebates) while Nordstrom doesn’t have any cash back on Rakuten. Since I can do store pickup, and will be at the mall tomorrow anyway...it’s Macy’s for the win!

I have to tell you that is my favorite foundation on you ever! It is the most natural by far. Maybe flash test fail was from the powder? I don’t wear foundation because they are always too heavy and settle into pores and wrinkles (63 years 🙃). Might have to give this a try after investigation of all ingredients. Contact allergies. Angie, I just purchased this and applied it for the first time. I have deep wrinkles and applying it with my fingers doesn't work. I used a brush to try and smooth out the settling and it helped but it was mostly dry. I have not worn foundation in many years so I am a bit rusty. I will continue to practice because it did reduce the appearance of dark areas and evened out my skin tone. I am 67 so this will probably be the best type of foundation for my wrinkles (and ruts LOL). I'll report in again... Love your videos & vlogs!

I was @ Nordstroms a few weeks ago during the 15% of beauty sale. My plan was to sample and possibly purchase the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation while it was on sale. I went to the Chanel counter for a foundation application. While the Chanel rep was applying the perfect Velvet shade on my face, she mentioned the formula of the foundation was recently updated. She claimed it was even better now. I was excited to see how the new foundation formula was going to outdo itself. I wore the foundation while shopping in the mall and checked the coverage a few times. I'm sad to say it was starting to move around on my skin a bit. Which never happened to me with the original foundation. I was not happy about it, especially with the price point. I remember thinking; "Wow. I wonder how Angie feels about the new formula of her holy grail Chanel foundation?" Well, lucky you :D Looks like you have a new holy grail foundation to rave about ;D Good for you. Next time I'm in Nordstroms I will give Stila Hide & Chic Foundation a go. Thx for recommending it.

I tried this and was super excited. I love your reviews and how thorough you are about the tests. Very trustworthy! But I’m going to be one of the critics of this one. I went and bought it and tried it a few times and hated it. I tried it several different ways, thinking maybe it was my technique. And every time it was cakey and accentuated my lines and wrinkles. It’s a big no thanks to this foundation. 😞
Angie, you were not imagining! This foundation looked great on your skin. It is something to consider because Stilla does not market its brand as much as other brands. On a different note, I have ordered the Sephora foundation and I am loving it. It is not drying and has great staying power, except I chose a shade that was darker than my skin. Angie, another Great foundation video and hopefully my holy grail foundation. I can’t wait to try it. I have normal/dry skin and really appreciate that even though you have normal/combo oily skin, you don’t limit your reviews to just your skin type. Like many others who subscribe to your channel, not only do we appreciate your honesty but your in depth research of all products you test. For example, when we go online to review consumers views on products, half the people say it’s the best product they have ever used and the other half say it is the worst product. I purchased this foundation a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I bought the Light 4 and it is spot on. I have tried a lot of foundations and this one is definitely my holy grail. With that said, it also minimizes the look of my textured skin, stays fresh looking for the majority of my day, doesn't fade, doesn't break up in the usual places and doesn't settle into wrinkles! I was so surprised by that. I use PC Skin Restoring Moisturizer SPF 50, ELF Poreless Primer, foundation, Cody Airspun and Maybelline Lasting Fix. I previously used IT ByeBye Foundation in Fair Light which was okay but didn't last the day w/o fading and breaking up a bit and wasn't as perfect of a match. I do want to try the IT ByeBye Pores powder for a little extra minimzing of the pores. Thank you Angie for the recommendation!

Sounds like I could really be in luck. It will be a while. I had to stop buying and start using....I have way too much of everything. Noy saying it will be so so long....but a little while. My purchases are now well thought out. It is hard to not run and buy what your preferred influencers reommend. Really hard.
Finally one that doesn’t have fragrance! I have combo skin, I’m 53 and extremely sensitive to fragrances. Thank you for bringing this one to us, Angie!

HotandFlashy YES!!! I LOVE the Stila foundation! I was waiting at Ulta’s door this morning, it was nice to go in before it got busy! I ended up buying two shades, the price is great and I couldn’t choose between the two colors. I like that it’s buildable, it will be great to use when I’m in Belize and want a light coverage, and back home in Oregon I can build it up🤗 I’m so thrilled, thank you so much Angie!
