This! I'm not a youtuber interested in how the foundation looks in a bright studio lamp light (spoiler alert: the worst crap looks good in it), I want to know how it looks like outdoors. This "real life" footage is priceless

Even though I'm almost 70, I still have "issues" with foundations on my fussy skin. Sometimes it's winter-dry skin, sometimes, I have my oily spots (usually my nose). I'm trying out a new technique, which is simply combining two foundations to match those areas. I set out a contact lens case and put Lancome's Teint Idole (longwear) in one, and Loreal's Super Blendable in the other. Now, I can dab my finger in each, applying and blending them as needed. I used to love Maybelline's Fit Me Poreless on my skin, so I'm wondering how combining that with their Dewy & Smooth might work.
I also like Charlotte Tilbury's Setting Spray, which really does seem to extend foundation wear. I think that's always been my biggest issue with foundations. I agree with many others here - the Loreal Foundation looks great on you!

MAC Face and Body is my holy grail. I get tons of compliments on my skin when I’m wearing it, and I have roseacea underneath! It’s lightweight and the coverage isn’t heavy but it’s buildable. Because it’s hydrating, it won’t last 12 hours on your nose and chin but I set it with powder in the T zone and it can be easily touched up throughout the day because it’s so buildable. And has an SPF of 25. They have another makeup in a tube (forget name) that is similar but more coverage for evening. And NO fragrance! 🙏🏼 I don’t know why more UA-camrs don’t talk about MAC foundations? After 20+ years I keep coming back to it, and it doesn’t make me look cakey or cracked. I have combination skin and it’s just luminous yet lightweight, which is great here in the humid south. I love it, but I don’t mind glowy finish vs matte. It’s much more youthful if you ask me.

No. Exact opposite. My skin has never looked better. Sorry if that sounded like I'm gloating - I'm not. Co-vid coincided with me starting a proper skincare regimen at 50 for the first time in my life. And glad I did. I got to be a bit experimental during lockdown too and dip my toe into stronger actives when I didn't care if there was down time as I wasn't going anywhere anyway. But my teenage daughter's skin has taken a hit. Badly. She has KP and mild breakouts normally. We've just had months of continuous breakouts at this stage.

@Sweet Serenity I'm doing intermittent fasting for years. Haven't lost a pound. Mind you I'm almost bald now (female, 50) and thyroid tests showed underactive thyroid. GP did second test and came back normal and he REFUSES to do another test. Meanwhile my hair is falling out, I could sleep all day (but not at night) my heartbeat is irregular and my kidney's are starting to fail.

No 7 Beautifully Matte is a great foundation for mature skin. Use it sparingly around the mouth and chin, where the most movement occurs. It is almost full coverage so use sparingly. It reduces redness so much, which I find is very aging. Yes, it is matte, but does not emphasize wrinkles. Looks like velvet on the skin.

Recently tried another foundation that is getting Beautiful reviews and after wearing it a few disappointing times, I’m back to light double wear. I love your foundation round ups! You are correct however in stating the Chanel velvet does not working for very dry skin...it looked awful on me no matter what I did. However, I LOVE the new IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation. Incredibly natural looking! On my super dry 61 year old skin it has a satin, skin like finish. To give it more luminosity, I use the Charlotte Tillbury Hollywood Flawless Filter as a primer or even a little mixed in and I can get a gorgeous luminous glow with the IT Foundation. My other HG include Georgio Armani Luminous Silk and the L"real Pro Glow. Both are beautifully radiant on my very mature, very dry skin. I'm super interested in the Estee Lauder and the Rare Beauty foundations that you mentioned. Thanks for always posting such detailed foundation reviews!

Update! I had a bottle of the Chanel Velvet that I save for special occasions (it’s expensive) but, hey, 2020 isn’t giving us any reasons to dress up. I decided to do an “Angie Test” on my 68 yo face. I used a moisturizer, sunscreen, and primer first and no setting powder after. It did feel like velvet going on and looked really great on my complexion. I don’t have spots or freckles to cover but I do have wrinkles. It held up well for about 7 hours with absolutely no settling into the lines around my mouth. But by that 7 hour mark I noticed my complexion looked very dry and my blush looked like it was just sitting on top of my skin. If I DID have a special evening out, I would definitely wait until late afternoon to apply my makeup for the evening. If I could have given my 50 yo self advice, it would have been start Retin A now before you actually need it. Angie does such an amazing job testing and reporting on products!

This is so timely and my most difficult makeup issue at the moment...what worked at age 60 is not working at 68. Everything seems to just sit on top of my skin and not blend anymore. I’ve been attributing it more to sunscreen than my actual skin, even though I try to wait at least 20 minutes. So far my best luck has been Chanel CC cream, but I will start working my way through your new list. Thanks Angie!

Hi Roxanne, I tried the Chanel CC a few years ago and thought it looked heavy on my skin so it could be that product rather than your skin or sunscreen... Hope you find something better! xo ~a.

Wow!! Watched this last night & went out to try Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue today. Every place in Minneapolis was out of the color I needed & couldn't get it till February , but finally located it on Bloomingdale's site PLUS got the special gift. The woman at Macy's gave me a trial container, so went home & tried it on half my face...LORD what a difference. My husband was super impressed...yay...since at 70, it is hard to find a game changer like this. THANK YOU!!!

I so agree about how I feel when my makeup is done. I do my makeup before I go to a water exercise class and the one thing I make sure to do is wear waterproof mascara. You didn’t mention the EL double wear , but that is my go to if I will be wearing my mask for awhile as I find it doesn’t transfer to my mask. When we no longer have to wear mask I may burn them! I know it will be awhile but they are hot and breathing isn’t great. I just had to get that off my chest! Thanks 😊

Hi Angie, first I have to say that YOU are my "Holy Grail" when it comes to UA-cam videos, makeup, skincare and clothes. I have a couple of questions I'm hoping you might address in an upcoming video, or possibly you already have. 1) Do you always use primer when you wear foundation? 2) Do you apply primer under or over your sunscreen? 3) What is the difference between setting powder and spray? Thank you so much for all of your information and inspiration.

You have spoken directly to me in this video. Thank you Angie! I am a WFH accountant doing a lot of Zoom calls. I find that putting on my makeup makes me feel human and pretty. I just plain feel better about myself as you said. For me, my holiest grail for foundation these days is Chantecaille in Ivory. The color match is perfect for me and doesn’t transfer much on my mask which is super awesome. I have a fairly prominent reddish/pinkish undertone in my skin so a good color match is very tricky for me. On your recommendation I tried Estée Lauder and the newer IT Cosmetics foundation and those are great on me too, although I think the Estée Lauder is a better color match. I tried Stila too, but that one the color match wasn’t working for me. Thank you Angie, your videos are so helpful and I look forward to each one.

I've always loved your conversational and friendly delivery of content. I like that you often share a little about yourself personally and what's going on in your life, but unlike me, you don't ramble-just pretty much to the point. Again, thank you so much. I've been with you all along and have always loved you! You are a great lady and i truly appreciate all that you do. Lauren

Tho I don't know Why!!! I don't go anywhere, EXCEPT to my first Actual Doctor's Appt. And two days later...JUST getting into a shower, thanks to catching the Flu!!! From Sunday til 4 pm, today, I have slept, with fever, sorest muscles, and chills. First time I've opened my computer. Thankfully, I had easy things to eat, but barely ate. Was too sleepy and miserable to get up and fix anything. So, wear TIGHTER masks! I wore a semi-loose one. And had not yet had my flu shot this year. But Flu shots usually always give me the flu!!!

Angie thank you for doing these! I have always wore minimal make up. Up until I turned 50. Except for special occasions. And if I wore foundation it was the regular bare essentials. That I had been purchasing since it first came out. I turned 50 and like overnight it was like my skin changed or I just decided to look at it closer. Anyways, I love watching your videos and how much research you put into them. And for the first time in my life I am wearing sunscreen (two of your Holy grails) using Curology that I absolutely love. But was so afraid to try but have had no bad reactions too. And I purchased this foundation to start using so I can play with it some before my daughter gets married in October. Also I’ve noticed we wear a lot of the same shades of foundations! So thank you for getting me starting on my healthy skin journey.
