I feel like this movie went way under my radar when it was released. The found footage format is particularly alienating for me because it's my LEAST favourite way a story is told (don't come for me PossessedByHorror) but the story in this movie is pretty compelling. I think 2014 was a good year for horror, this movie definitely got better with time and it's nice to see it holds ten years later.
This is my absolute favourite found footage- and by far my favourite movie to watch videos on!! Thank you for making one 10 years after it came out! So cool to hear different perspectives on it :)
One of my favorite movies. Not a typical horror movie, but like you said a deeper story about redemption and who you are. Doesn’t get the love it deserves
This movie in essence sound like, and me of Medieval “Mystery and Morality Play” (separate genres in vernacular literature with overlapping themes) in English Literature cannon where the allegorical attack on “human soul” by the personified Seven Deadly Sins. Very skilfully dissected by the way! 😊
Great analysis, Sarah! The movie is excellent. A few days ago I saw: The Tunnel (2011) (Australian), it is a bit lower in quality and cost than As Above So Below... But they seem similar. Both could be cousins films.
I did enjoy the movie. That said, I will laugh and roll my eyes every time some old language is translated perfectly into modern English. This time round the poem even rhymes despite the translation. Translating ancient languages, even older forms of current languages into English rarely provides a perfect translation.

This is such an underrated movie. I recommend it to friends all the time. I think it's been getting more praise as the years go on.
This has always been on of my favourite movies. I always return to it every so often

One of my favorite found footages!
If you don't post another video before then, Merry Christmas to you & your family, Sarah! 🎄
Great deep dive! I really enjoyed this when I first watched it but I've been meaning to give it a rewatch. x

This movie terrified me with the imagery and the message

I remember it being pretty unnerving and creepy first watch 😮 not a bad movie.
Underrated. Indiana Jones found footage
I saw this when it came out and thought it was terrible. Been wanting to try it again
As above ONLY above.

Not a horror filum... An 'Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider' adventure filum.
Can't tell if you're making a joke, but every website refers to this as a horror film.
