Thank you for tagging my DOS gameplay @yopachi in the comments! A few things to note: The Amiga and Atari ST versions had no level music. Atarti ST was the original version and the DOS version was converted by Frédérick Raynal, creator of Alone in the Dark.
Oh, no, no, no... Thank YOU! For playing the game and dropping the recording. It helps to preserve those games for the future. :) And you're also tagged in the video throughout the whole segment your footage is on. So a bit over a minute. Thanks for the interesting note, it may actually come in handy in a future video if the game ever gets featured again.
It is, isn't it? But not always what's groundbreaking for one reason or another is popular. And often what offers easiest and fastest fun, is most well known.
These games look great. There are probably 10 000 games over the last 50 years that are hidden gems, to be excavated in the next 100 years, if they are not forever lost already.
Well, given how many platforms we had so far, and how many games released on them, there's definitely few a couple thousands rare games. No doubt about that.
Heck yeah, "Enemy"! I bought this very late in my Amiga phase and really liked it a lot! A pity it came out so late, otherwise it would have been very well received and sold a lot.
Alpha waves is an incredible achievement 4 years before Jumping Flash. I don’t speak German but I do know a German person I can annoy with screenshots I want translated at 3AM? Enemy: ToV looks fantastic! I was wondering why I’d never heard of it until you said 1997. Definitely one to check out. Good grief! Monsters of terror is not one for people with photo sensitive epilepsy! Speaking of Elf, would you consider a worst Amiga/C64 games when you have the time? Vector Storm is one I’ve played & loved. Highly recommended for Tempest fans. Some games for me to check out for the first time, thanks. This does look like a hell of a list.
Yeah, many of those really obscure games were either PD or released after Commodore ceased to exist in the form we were accustomed to. Elf is not the worst on the Amiga, Pro Soccer 2190 is. And I will fight to defend that notion for as long as I can stand. I could make the worst C64 game video, but I'd have to do quite a lot of research and go through quite a few baddies as honestly I can't even think of one.
Mine Runner - I could be mistaken, but I think I only had a limited shareware version of this. I remember I had some other Amiga clone of Lode Runner, but it never worked properly. Vektor Storm - I had a pirated copy of this. I had followed a magazine article to mod an Atari trackball to function as an Amiga mouse (it could also be switched back to normal), and I used to use that to play this game. It wasn't as good as a spinner control, but it was better than the mouse.
I thought Enemy: Tempest of Violence looked like Prince of Persia but more polished. Then I saw the jumping. :P Does look good though. Cheers for the epilepsy warning >:D
No worries, we've agreed in the past that I will put one in every video since and I have. It's not much extra work but someone may be spared an extra bad day.
Sword of Aragon is an amazing game. I have an unknown number of hours playing it. I would still play it today as it has a playability to it that stll rivals strategy games today, i feel. The graphic might not be great but it plays well. There are a few instances of bad AI, but that aside, its a great game.
It's funny that looking for a name for a fantastic kingdom they ended up choosing Aragon, the name of a real kingdom (and a current autonomous community) of Spain. I imagine that it will sound exotic but surely some Spaniard ended up playing it because of the title thinking that it was something of a historical nature 😆
@@OldAndNewVideoGames I guess I meant morally dodgy as they have stolen someone else's work without paying for it. It seems weird they wouldn't get sued. Maybe they did?
Wow, so many great gems here! Multiplayer Lode Runner sounds fun, and Vektor Storm looks right up my alley.
Yep, multiplayer LR is definitely a highlight in this one.
Love your chanel mate❤
Toasty!😂❤❤
Thanks a bunch! :)

Amazing that such a historically important game like Alpha Waves can be so unknown...

nice ! At last the Elf is mentioned ! Played it on pc in the 1990's... Many thanks !
No problem! It is not very well known game.

It would've been an amazing exclusive!
Wow, Vektor storm looks really cool! Going to try it whenever I can.
It's worth it, give it a go.

Summer Olympiad! If I'm not mistaken, you can hit the bird on the diving event.
Oh, my God... That's so cool just for being so odd. xD
Sword of Aragon was one of my favourite games!
I played it a lot too. Though I don't think I've ever put any attention to the story back then though.
Mine Runner - I could be mistaken, but I think I only had a limited shareware version of this. I remember I had some other Amiga clone of Lode Runner, but it never worked properly.

Oh, this could be epic on a trackball!
I knew Mine Runner on the Apple IIe version (Load Runner), appart for the sound, the graphics looks like a lot the same. I remember it was really fun.
See, the difference between any Lode Runner and Mine Runner is that Mine Runner can actually be played in simultaneous multiplayer. :)
@@OldAndNewVideoGames that make a huuuuge difference then!!. Too bad we can't play together with an internet version
@@sebastientoccupe5704 I'm not sure if latest WinUAE does not allow for that. I'd have to check that if I get a chance.
@@OldAndNewVideoGames It would have been a great option to add to.
Awesome 👍🏻 good video.
Thanks! :)
Macaw45 had a wonderful playthrough of Enemy on twitch
:)

The strange jumping makes sense in the game's universe because it takes place on spaceships where there is simulated, but nevertheless low, gravity.
Yep, makes sense.
No worries, we've agreed in the past that I will put one in every video since and I have. It's not much extra work but someone may be spared an extra bad day.
Vektor Storm reminds me of Gyruss on the C64.
Gyruss is one of the most fun shooters on C64!
The Tempest of Violence looks good. Too bad I never knew it and after 1994 I have been using PC until now ...
I moved to PC 96-ish but I haven't played Tempest of Violence then either.

I liked it too. I wasn't perhaps great at it yet back then, but I did enjoyed it nonetheless.

I imagine that it will sound exotic but surely some Spaniard ended up playing it because of the title thinking that it was something of a historical nature 😆
And thanks to you I learned something new. I had to clue that it was true. :)
Is Vector storm a approved Tempest conversion or a dodgy knockoff version?
It's inspired, not official but it's also anything but dodgy. It's really good in fact.
@@OldAndNewVideoGames I guess I meant morally dodgy as they have stolen someone else's work without paying for it. It seems weird they wouldn't get sued. Maybe they did?
@@leighbyford635 :)
It is not Slam Tilt in the video, it is Pinball Illusions.
There's... neither in the video?
@@OldAndNewVideoGames Ok, now i'm confused :) Probably good comment, but not this video, or maybe wrong comment at all...
@@oktawianc7456 We'll never know ;)
Tempest or Elf
:)
I know a really obscure game - Bratwurst! It was a lot of fun though, but the music sucked.
Thanks for the suggestion, I've added it to the list. :)
Well, I don't remember 1997 at all!
I have that feeling sometimes too ;)
