I love how versatile and clear the Fishman’s are, but I just love how the Majesty has that bottom end to it. Feels more full and not as thin. Like that chunkier sound.

I had a majesty 8 string and I really hated the finish. It’s sooooo glossy that it’s impossible to keep fingerprints off of and develops a stick to it during long sessions.
I personally didn’t like the dimarzios. They sounded like Ibanez pickups from 2001. It’s a weird low-mid frequency that’s really difficult to EQ.
That being said, the neck is extremely comfortable.

Glad you like it! I have the same version but with fanfrets and no floyd rose. I also did a small mod: for anyone who didn't know, there is a third voicing, namely coil tap, which first needs to be installed. So i put both voices 1 on one knob and both pickups coil tapped on the other knob. In total that gives you 4 different voicings for each pickup position! That's really cool

I've had my SLS for a little over a year now. It has taken me a long time to get used to it. I absolutely HATE how it sounds when I'm jamming out or just riffing, but I'll be damned if it doesn't sound great in a mix. I find I have to do much less post processing.
My overall opinion of the SLS is that it's a well built machine of a guitar, but it's also very cold and sterile - which has it's uses, but it's not my go-to guitar for composing.

    • @Vector-X777
      @Vector-X777 Рік тому +2

I feel the exact opposite. I have the C7 FR SLS Elite and I was used to it immediately. I feel like if you want it to be clear live you have to crank it. Turn that gain up.

Sounds great I have these pickups in a ESP. I’m not sure how it is on the schecter but on the ESP witch has two volumes and the tone knob. When playing with distortion If you pull the middle volume knob it gives you a beefier sound than the cocked wha sound. It’s my favorite setting or voicing on the Fishman fluence.

Thanks for commenting. Yes they both have their strong points. Depending on which amp I am playing, I may prefer one guitar over the other. That said, the majesty definitely has a more balanced sound through all of the amplifiers.

I own two Majestys (with Rainmaker and Dreamcatchers) but I must say, I love the clean sounds of the Schecter a bit more, and the sound is a bit more aggressive in high-gain situations too. Something sounds a bit dampened or muffled on the Majesty. Only slightly, but it is definitely there. The Majesty edges out the Schecter on the highs (leads) for me though.

The reason the top frets dont adjust is because they are part of the body either bolted or nechthrough...that section doesnt flex...truss rod at either end doesn't change that...

Sounds great. I have a C1 Hellraiser with EMGs and love that guitar. I have two guitars that have Fishmans. One is an Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul and the other is a BC Rich V. I love the pickups. The clarity is awesome and the alternate voice has more of a punchy chime while the standard has more of a rounder sound. Schecters are great guitars for the money and I am glad they are adding Fishman and Sustainiac options

I have a Majesty Koa Top and a JP15 (both 6 string) that are def my main axes, but I also have a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 with the EMG 81 and Sustainiac configuration. I love those pickups, I have that same guitar, but its the orange six string one , and I have the Banshee Mach6 model. I do have a music man sabre but i don't play it much. my favorite is my charvel guitar's, along with my strandberg with fishman modern fluence. The schecter neck seems a bit wider than my other guitar's. But still great guitars. Glad to see you dig it.

The Fishman Fluence Modern's are my pickup of choice and have them in several of my guitars......really glad to see you try some other guitars, and it will be great when your Kiesel arrives.
I think the pickups, and guitars that they are in, all contribute to each instrument having their own specific vibe....and most are as you say....just a different flavor and create different feelings.
I've never owned a Schecter, but every time I tried one.....I thought I should!

Gotta love people that say, well that’s an expensive guitar so it sounds great, just to buy a guitar with Fishmans, which are the best sounding pickups on the market. I have a Solar 1.6 BLB with fisman moderns and it sounds killer. Especially when u pull the knob for a mid cut voicing.

I’m curious how well have the frets held up on this guitar? I know they are stainless steel but some cheaper brands seem to lie about the quality of frets. Have these held up and show no wear like quality stainless steel frets? Thanks!

Great guitar, even better once setup and please spend time on voice 2 bridge position for rhythm and leads. It’s voiced to be a more passive sound and is just as usable as the active voices. I’m happy to hear some Fishman pups thru your amp as that is what I run on both my 7 strings. So much low end bite on low tunings. Super tight

That Schecter is really nice. It's in that "sweet-spot" between boutique and cheap. It's more affordable, but it's still really nice.
It's a great guitar, at a decent price. One thing to mention is: where is it made. That is an important thing for me, because I won't buy anything if it's "made in Chyna". I see these are made in South Korea.

I’ve only ever played Ebmm in guitar stores and they are amazing quality second to none but unfortunately my price range is in line with the Schecter I have a sls elite 7 with the hipshot bridge and sls elite evil twin 6 and for being about half the price-of the Ebmm I think that makes the Schecter stand out from others I paid about as much for 2 Schecters for about the same price no shade for the Ebmm but I think Schecter is killing the game with features and quality to price ratio. Just my opinion. If you go with the mid priced Schecter you will never go wrong one thing with the fluence moderns if you dial back the gain slightly and change your pick attack I think you might like it even more

It was interesting seeing you do something a little different by reviewing a different guitar. Makes sense for the channel too since not everyone has a majesty and now you have something with different pickups.
I am the same way with guitars. I find a guitar I like and I just stick with it. I have other kinds of guitars, including a Fender Strat, a Gibson Les Paul, and an Ibanez Prestige S, but I mainly just play the majesty. Only other guitar I play with any regularity is the Jason Richardson Cutlass, which is pretty similar to the JP guitars anyways.
I remember seeing an interview with Steve Vai where he said that he only feels comfortable playing his Ibanez JEMs and he will not play anything else.
But it seems like you acclimated to the Schecter pretty quickly and it’s not all that different from the majesty in terms of the neck and feel. It’s not like you had to get used to a telecaster with a 7.25” radius neck or something.
