- In this video Matt & Adam take viewers on a journey to Casper, Wyoming where they found an 2006 F550 Rollback: 131K on it, and the previous owner converted it from manual to automatic? We have no idea exactly why, but it passed the "What to look for when buying a 6 Liter" test that Matt lives by. Come along for the ride, and learn a few things, then watch us put this rig to the test, and get ready for the upcoming build videos.

Oh wow so beautiful and clean tow 🚚truck 🚚F550 4WD🚚
That’s a beautiful truck, I can’t believe someone swapped out the ZF6 for a 5R110 Torqueshift though! The orange 73-80 squarebody is really nice too! What happened to the poor OBS though? When you run the rollback, you don’t have to put the wheel lift down to stabilize it. Roll the bed back until the front of the bed is out of the locks and then start tilting it down until the subframe feet come in contact with the ground and then roll the bed back until the edge touches the ground. You want the subframe of the bed to take the weight of what you’re loading, not the hydraulic cylinders. Then when you have something loaded, tilt the bed down just a little so that the edge doesn’t scrape on the ground, but the subframe feet are still on the ground. Roll the bed forward (so it’s going up hill), then you can put your straps or chains on the rear, provided you already attached a strap or chain at each front corner and then tilt your bed down. You want to roll it forward enough that the front of the bed is close to the bed lock but not far enough that it comes in contact with the bed locks. A lot of times there’s an arrow on the side of the bed to let you know to roll the bed to that point and then to tilt it. Can’t wait to see more of the F550 and see if it gets swapped back to a ZF6!
Thanks for the info I bought it solely to move my stuff around so still learning how to use it.
Congratulations on the truck 😊
As a guy who operates a rollback day in and day out, I will say an automatic is pretty killer in a rollback. We are constantly going forward and backward back and forth, constantly stopping and starting, and frankly I'd get pretty worn out running one with a manual, My heavy wrecker is a manual 9 speed but I don't do nearly as much tight maneuvering back and forth nearly as often as with the rollback so it isn't too bad.
Hmm that's an interesting view point.
Hey atleast you guys have gas atations and fast food and etc.. we don't eat fast food but the billage i gre up in just got internet of any sort 5yrs ago and the coosest gas/fuel station is 28 miles away.. thats the closest one 😂😂❤ and i bet im not even in the most remote town haha but its pretty remote..😅😂❤❤
