Thank you for sharing this video on YT. It was until now missing so essential and detailed step by step M8 disassembly tutorial. It will help many people. Great job
Very good video Pat, im an ex vehicle tech and have a stage 4 kit in my garage waiting to fit on my 2019 street glide and didnt know if I was capable but you showed it can be done with out loads of specialist toots pretty easily. So thanks will be watching your assembly videos also.
Curious to know how you dealt with the forward center rocker cover bolt on the rear cylinder... the one that has NO F***ING ROOM to articulate a tool. Did you find a work-around? Thanks for the video; good stuff. Appreciated.
Hello, why did you choose to use the Feuling rocker arm stud and nut kit and not the S&S? Curious as you used the S&S rocker arm shafts.. I also see that Feuling sell shims for the rocker shaft, did you not see the need for this? Thank you in advance
Hey Patrick, the cam locking tool you used isn't the same one in the link. The one you used looks like it is better. As you know, it's not made for the Milwaukee 8, and they don't last long (at least not for me). Can you tell me where you got it. Thx. Love your videos.
Quick question that I am hoping either you or someone on here that has done this to a M8 can answer. I'm just a little confused because at the beginning of your video you say this all applies to 2017+ Harley Touring but when I go to the URLs for the Mainshaft Sprocket Locknut Wrench and the Evolution Solid Comp Sprocket Kit J&P Cycles site say they don't fit my 2017 Harley Street Glide FLHX. I try not to assume (lol, because we know what that does) that I would be able to use them on my 2017 street glide but wanted to get someone's thoughts on this. Thanks in advanced!!
Hi. Can I ask for your advice on my 2019 road king. I had to upgrade the engine to 117 stage 3 with V&S headers, KW exhaust and Fuel pack tune. The bike has annoying ticking noise (valve noise??) and numbing fine vibration that causes me to loos sensation in my feet. the biggest issue is that with the RPM less than 3 it feels and sounds like I have maxed out on the gear and need to shift ... I basically have to shift quickly to 5th gear and stay below 70 MPH to avoid the vibration and the noise. Would you happen to know what is going wrong here? Is it normal to have these issues with the upgrade? please help I don't and can't enjoy my bike anymore
@@jpcycles Cool thankd for the reply. I like the way you went with this series. No machine shop needed, just ordered parts. I think even i could do it!
Why would you want to do this ?? Counterbalancers ??? Buy a Yamaha Road star 1700 and you have an indestructible 100ft# engine that will last for years and you can enjoy motorcycling , unless you prefer stress and costs. By the way the 1700 is the blueprint for your M8 Harley just EEffed it up. 1700/102 cubic inches Dual plugs / 4 valves per cylinder Pent roof (Hemi) Ceramic lined cylinders ( no overheating) All gear to gear in cam chest and primary ( no chains or tensioners ) No map sensor/ ride by wire / or cutting out rear cylinder But it’s made in America .. To an extent or is it assembled in America

Great Video. Patrick I give you kudos for not muttering and swearing up a storm as you pull stuff off with just hand tools.
I try to use hand tools to show it can be done in anyone's garage. Cut most of the muttering and swearing out :)

Thank You for doing this and putting it on UA-cam. I am looking forward to seeing the process and final result.

I am struggling to get my motor mount off of my 2020 road glide … it definitely is different from that one. Any suggestions??
looked like a lot of oil in the cam chest. Oil sumping or weird camera angle ?
Be good how you showed us how to take the tank and other tins to work on the motor
if your going to take the tappets keepers off break the tappet keeper apart and use heat.

Please do this for a twin cooled
Would you recommend sendimg the case out to get a Timkin bearing conversion?
I considered this as it is the standard for Twin Cam builds but after I talked to some builders decided against it.

I think even i could do it!
ya do not let the rods smack the case they will dent it very easily.
what's the song at 5:22?
Why is this in 360p?
1 thing do not use power tools to break anything loose or to tighten anything.
Those are not "Allen bolts" they're socket head cap screws.
Lol yeah id hire a pro

Wow cool video
L need your help please let me know
It will be all doom and gloom if you need to disassemble a modern engine for faults.
Isn't it great, those m8 motors are like Lego. The biggest problem to me is only the budget 😂😂😂.
