I get the impression that the stop start system wrecks your battery, too. My batteries last less than 1/2 as long as they used to. It ought to be possible to disable this feature from the infotainment system. Any improvement in miles per gallon is eaten up by replacement batteries. And, stop start batteries are very expensive, too. It's one of many gripes I have with my mk7 golf. I'll never buy a VW again. Expensive, poor UX, and very difficult to change the oil filter on mine, too.
There is one even more idiotic on the Golf 1.5 Tsi 130hp, where it shuts off the engine while driving - cruising mode... annoying and idiotic to save 0,001 liters of fuel
This works on a Caddy 2KN from 2016. A blessing, thank you mr-fix! Do you perhaps know how to permanently disable the ESC or TC system? The hazard lights trick works but as soon as i drive, it switches back on immediately.
Tried on my MY2019 Golf 7,5 and unfortunately it did not work. With voltage set to 12.1 start/stop still works as usual. Is there any other way to code it out on 2019 golfs?
Do you happen to know if this is available for a Golf GTE Hybrid? When i'm in GTE (Sport mode) when letting of the throttle the engine turns off and when applying throttle again it turns on again with high revs. It very anoyying and possibly bad for the turbo.
In the Mk7.5 the voltage method no longer works. Tried setting to 12, 12.1 but stop start still kicked in. Must try the temperature method. Voltage worked on RS3, TTRS and Tiguan but has stopped working on the Mk7.5 Golf R. The voltage method is accepted and stored but does not disable the stop start. Going to have to find another way
There's a third method that I found for Seat Leon 5F, which is basically the same as Golf MK7 and Skoda Octavia 5E. Instead of changing gateway adaptation you can change gateway coding and changing few bits related to the SS function. If you want to try here are some details: Module 19, Long Coding, Byte 03, Bit 2, disable Module 19, Long Coding, Byte 03, Bit 3, enable Module 19, Long Coding, Byte 04, Bit 0, disable Module 19, Long Coding, Byte 04, Bit 0, disable Module 19, Long Coding, Byte 15, Bit 0, disable
And one more thing that you can try. Please let me know if any of these work with your car. Module 19, Adaptation, Channel: Deactivation of start-stop function, new value: Stop prohibition: no start request
mr-fix understood, thank you very much! Love your video and keep doing what you’re doing 👍. Really helpful for me, because I got mk7 golf 1.8 tsi, I replaced all of the lights in the interior, LED reverse lights and blinker lights too, without any problems. This channel is incredible source of information for euro car owners like myself. Dziękuję bardzo z Kanady🤗
Hi @mr-fix - I use OBD11 as well with iOS. I have a VW Tiguan 2.0TDI from 2013, I tried long coding in module 19. but I only have 3 bytes (with index 0, 1, 2) and only got long adaptation, not adaptation, where I have to enter the channel 0-255. Do you have any idea how I can turn start-stop off please?
it's permanently disable. But is it possible to do that - after starting the engine the value would be "off", and I could turn it on manually with button if needed
i see you have the dynamic road sign display , do you know if it's possible to activate without having the camera, displaying the speed limit from the maps?
I also did this, but then with credits, today I received a message while driving, the car cut out Start stop system malfunction, but when I press the start stop button, nothing happens, but I do it, the car also cuts out very strange while I turn this off had done with obdleven
Would not recommend that. AFAIK disconnecting this small module on the battery will cause energy management system to fall back to save settings. This includes start-stop to be disabled but also no regenerative braking, improper battery charge voltage, possible issues with webasto and supplemental heater, function limitation of the heating fan, welcome lights, curve lights... I'm going to stick with coding method.
@@mrfixpl disagree. It was the first thing I made after buying the car. I spoke with the service about it and they told me that it wouldn't cause any problems. Few days ago it was checked with pc and everything is fine. Half a year of using and no problems at all.

Auto-Start Stop is the most idiotic feature ever included on an automobile.
Followed by undersized spare wheels and electric parking brakes

I have an audi and I can confirm this works for them too. I changed mine a few years ago and I don’t miss it at all.
I programmed the driver to press the deactivation button by default
hahaa, thats the right approach :D :D :D
Voltage of 12.1V works on 2018 mk7 variant blue motion

mr-fix Thankyou so much. I’ll give those a try and report back
@@OperaQld Did any of those solutions work? I'm looking to do the same to my September 19 Golf

Hi mr-fix, you can change also by temperature, but first you have to go to developer mode, than it works!
Thanks for the tip!
Jedna z ważniejszych modyfikacji
Hay, where can we buy this device to do this work thanks great video
There should be link in the description.
Could you just disable the function with the (disable start/stop system) cuz I saw it in your OBD 11 menu??
Why did you do it through voltage?
You can but you will just spend 10 credits and the app will perform the same coding procedure as I did.
mr-fix understood, thank you very much!

Happy to help!
Can you show how to invert button function?
There's no such option in MQB platform cars.

Ustawiłem w golfi VII tdi na 12V a nawet na 12.1V i start stop nadal działa. Dlaczego? Temperatury nie mogę zmienić.

AFAIK you can't do that in Golf MK7.

AFAIK you need the camera.

Why would you want to drive with your fog lights on all the time?
What app are you using.
OBDeleven. Should be linked in the description below the video
you forgot to say we need the Pro package
Well, it's up to you if you use OBDeleven Pro, VCDS, VCP, CarScanner or whatever.
Does that work with the seat ateaca
Sorry, don't know yet.

mr-fix I don’t know how you have the patience to reply to comments like this
Hey, that's the internet. Get used to it!
thank you for your reply. The microphone didn't work, so I asked ...
no need for harsh words, Bill
Just unplug it on the battery
How does that work?
Or you can just unplug the connector which is located on the battery. Takes 2 seconds.
Much faster and easier solution to achieve the same result!
Would not recommend that.
