As a Raider fan, the biggest mistake made was not going with our interim coach and hiring Josh McDaniels.
in hindsight it is so sad Mark Davis was just hustled and conned by Josh McD.
That's very true. The real tragedy was the wasted potential of a Derek carr and davante Adams combination. It was a good idea that just seemed to fall to the wayside after McDaniels gutted the team.
Terrible decision.
as a packer fan it's a win because now we have a qb that throws to all his WR and not just his favorite target
If Watson can just stay healthy he can be one of top guys at the position. As a Packer fan I like the trade.
The metrics say he’s Martavis Bryant. He does a couple things really well. Top guys at all he position? No shot.
@@scattau41 I guess you didn’t see the cowboys game when he had 3 touchdowns. He’s big and one of if not the fastest guy on the field most of the time. Being a Packer where they seem to produce good to great receivers all the time. I think he can be one of the top guys. He just needs to stay healthy and he can become a player defenses have to game plan for

As a raiders fan, i love Adams and watching him in has been fun. That said, Mcdaniels needed to go on a full on rebuild. The Gruden era team needed to get blown up, especially if we werent gonna go with the coaches/players from the gruden regime. That means trade Carr when his value was at its highest, and trade players for picks/cap relief.
Evaluating this trade just in a vacuum, i thought it was quite fair for all party's involved. Raders get the top reciever in the game to help their qb. And packers got valuable high picks to jump start their rebuild. Win-win imo. Yes even if those players the packers got dont turn out to being Adams level good, if they help contribute to a good packers team, it is a win.
As a general rule of thumb I'm very much opposed to trading significant draft capital plus handing out a massive contract. It's like paying double. It often results in a positive short term effect but the roster suffers in the long term. The other issue from the Raider's perspective is they badly misjudged their roster by thinking they were ready to compete. As special as Davante is he is now 31 years old and the Raiders won't have a championship caliber roster any time soon. Teams should be competing for a Super Bowl or building a roster that will allow them to.
If we draft Mitchell we will have a championship roster. Defense wins 🏆
Packers won this trade big time. Depth at a significantly lower cost.
I’m a Packers fan and I thought this was one of the more fair trades in recent memory. The Packers got fair value for an elite WR, and turned it into a very good LB and a WR who I believe can still be a #1 guy. And the raiders got Davante Adams.
They did mess it all up, because it’s the Raiders…… but they did get Davante Adams lol

Adams ain’t going nowhere and he doesn’t wanna get traded. That whole media narrative is dumb. He chose to be a raider, it’s where he wants to be. Maybe next year when they can cut him

Things change quickly in the NFL. He wanted to play with Derek Carr, but he's gone now. They were a playoff team when he got traded, but now he's gone 14-20 with the raiders. The Josh McDaniels era felt like a lifetime; trauma like that can change a man. Not saying he'll force a trade or that he's unhappy there, but it's flawed logic to say he's loyal to the org just because he wanted to go there 3 seasons ago. I'll be shocked if he is on the 2025 Raiders.
I feel like this is one of those trades where both teams are ok with it. Like the Khalil Mack trade (had Mayock not completely crapped the bed with those picks yes I'm still mad).
Packers because Adams said he wouldn't play for the Packers. I believe what Adams says. They got a 1st and 2nd for someone who won't play for Packers.

I definitely must say I like having Adams with Raiders. If anything I enjoy my Adams/raiders Jersey. I hate to think how bad the raiders would be without Adams.
Adams didn't want to stay. Even if both picks were busts you make that trade.

I don't mind the trade because there is no way a non-qb is worth a 44 million dollar cap hit. I know it's not at that number yet, but still... Dude is just too expensive.
Happy for Tae to get what he deserves in pay, but I think Rodgers and the organization bungled resigning him.
This trade will really pay dividends once Drake Maye falls right into the Raiders laps

I’ll give you QB, even though I’m ok with letting O’Connel ride another year. RT makes sense, but corner? Jack Jones is future superstar and Nate Hobbs is just good, yea we could use 1 more with Amik gone, but I’m not too worried. For RB, I think Zamir is going to have a breakout year next year, sitting behind JJ could only of helped his development + he was technically better than Jacob’s statically last year, not saying that he’s a better back, but numbers do carry some meaning. I’m perfectly fine with wideout, TAE is staying at least another year, Myers is a good 2, and Tre Tucker looked really solid his rookie year, and only got better as the season went on

@@salaga6574 what's mixed to you? Filling 5 spots is not a rebuild. I'm not being sarcastic, we have 3 Recievers we need another one what happens if Tae or Jacoby gets hurt? We need a starting CB opposite of Jack J. Bennett's not proven. What happens if Jones or Hobbs get hurt? AOC is a 50/50 question mark. We need a better prospect with a higher upside to compete with him in practice for one, and to go against Mahomes. Scoring 3 points ain't cutting it. Z. White looked good but we need one more RB with some speed to challenge for the second position against the RB from the Vikings.
Davante is the biggest loser in the trade for he will probably never even sniff the playoffs again witj the Raiders. He's rich, though, and maybe that's what's most important to him.
