Thanks AZ. Stairway works better on piano than you might expect, and there is plenty to build up to in the final section. I'm really glad you like this version.
I agree. My comment will not be about this version only, but in general: what I like of these videos is that they "stick to the song" --- if I may say so. In many cases the tutorials on YT are "mechanical": chords are played and you have to imagine how it is sung --- or you have to complete by adding notes (and it is a lot of work). Not so, here.
I am only a beginner, struggling for weeks to play a few seconds of a song, and not even perfectly, but this is certainly how I would like that it sounds.

I think your approach is similar to mine in the respect that you would rather take the time to learn the version with the larger chords because, when it snaps into place, then the richness of the sound - that you are making and not just listening to - is an overwhelming experience.

I don't know if you still make tutorials (there are not so many from the last months) but I would very interested to hear from you a version of "Maybe I'm Amazed" and of "Oh Darling" (for this one I have watched many tutorials, none of which satisfies me completely for different reasons, and in one case I have even the impression of a confusion ). Anyway, there is enough on your page to occupy me for the rest of my life...
@@Marlene-ou5ol UA-cam has killed off its old content creators like me. It takes many hours of hard work to make a video and when each newly uploaded video gets fewer views than the number of people who subscribed to the channel last month then it's time to focus on other things. Therefore I continue to work on PlugAndPlink, which hopefully will teach many more people to play many more songs.

I love how this song is like some of the songs that start extremely chill, then slowly get more intense, adding more instruments very slowly.
I have to say this is by far, the best piano cover of Stairway to Heaven that I have ever seen. It's even better than the version I play.
This is possibly the best sounding version of STH EVER. Jaco Pastorius once again in Paul's left hand and that fabulous lead/rhythm in the right hand. Not sure whether JP has heard your version Paul? If not, he needs to! That Roland produced some fantastic sounds in your hands.

Thank you Rhys. UA-cam has changed a lot in ten years. They've tweaked the search algorithm to mostly push covers to the bottom of the deck. I remember in the early days it was much more fun because if you got in early you could outrank the original a lot of time. I'm glad you're inspired to learn this one, it is certainly a song which pays back many times the effort it takes to get it polished.
Wow, this is even better than the one with the 800,000+ views, proper natural. I'm thinking of learning this by heart for the piano in our language school, been playing a few pieces of Ludovico Einaudi with a blues improvisation on it, want to have this in my repertoire along with Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb. This has probably been advanced from the sheet music it was learnt from, but any suggestion about the best sheet music to buy for this as a starting point would be appreciated. Good job!

You deserve the comment Paul. I love your version and it leaves all others light years behind. I've heard it played hundreds of times by budding 'Muso's', from when I worked in a music shop way back in the 1970's and it was not too far from where you are either.
I too worked in a musical instrument shop in the late 1980s. When people walked in and started playing Stairway we used to cut the power to whole shop and wait until they went away.
You naughty boys, Ha Ha! What a coincidence! We did exactly the same thing when 'Stairway' was being played. One thing though, we had to be careful about who we switched off! Robert P was a regular in our town and his cousin was a friend of mine who regularly visited the shop, so we sometimes had to 'suffer' very bad renditions from other wannabe's from time to time. Keep up the great work Paul.

This song was played so much when it came out that it kinda turned into a joke. Everyone like it, but it became wall paper. It great to hear it presented this way and remember that it actually is a solid piece of music.
Than you Joe for pointing this out. I used to work in a musical instruments shop in south London and can testify to the frequency with which the opening bars were 'performed' by visitors to the shop. It is a solid piece of music and furthermore I think it is ridiculous that Led Zeppelin yet again are having to defend its originality in court.

I would pay to have the sheet music from you for this song. This was beautiful and yet I feel words don't give this video justice. I rewatched this video back to back 3 times already because of how good it is. A well spent 30 minutes.
