Cheers for the Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing exclusive product for learning effective self defence moves without the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my cousin finally got amazing success with it.

Also why is he holding it so it's pointing out the wrong side of his hand (and also cutting his own thumb in the picture)? Shouldn't it point the same direction as the punching surface of a fist? (edit: actually, in another video I saw, I realized there's the potential of self-injury with the traditional punch-facing method if it rides up against your finger webbing. So maybe it's okay to be like a cat and paw at them with the knife like in this video)

Not only that but you also have the fact that knives are not defensive weapons they're offensive weapons. It's very difficult to successfully argue self defense in a stabbing in most cases.

Hmmm not a bad idea having a knife built into a wallet. Easy to remove when being demanded to fork over a wallet.
The problem is that you really don't want the police on egg shells when people reach for a wallet to produce ID. That creates a huge potential safety issue that can get you killed.

That ghost strike knife is actually pretty nice. I retrofit an iwb strut on mine and carry it crossdraw appendix, opposite my pistol and it rides at just the right height and remains concealed. Nice option.

I love knives like the Schrade SCH111! I've always wanted a tactical belt that could sheath a karambit on each side with just the rings showing so I could swoosh them both out at the same time like a badass, lol! I also love flashlight tasers, great for purses at work when 'you're not supposed to have weapons at the office'...

Great gear, but with the exception of the tactical pen (provided one can convince the court that it wasn't carried with self-defence in mind), and of the alarm device, none of the featured items may be legally carried here in the United Kingdom.
It sucks, I know, but that is the law we must abide by...

I have a friend from Alaska where the rules are a little different than the rest of this country, but ppl do carry knives up there, however, he told me, ....."if you pull out a knife on someone, you better use it." That is what he taught me about knives. Also if someone were to use one on you, they will most likely wait till theyre right up on you and will pull it out quick and shank you 3-4 times.
Knives are not something to play around with, buying one of these is for one thing, to use it. Also remember that two ppl in a fist fight both go to jail according the PD, they don't care who started it. It is the same with knives. Your in a knife fight, and YOU WILL GET CUT. GET OVER IT.
I feel like if you're in a self-defense situation where you need a knife, you'd be better off going for the neck than shanking someone a couple times.

I own a Schrade SCH111.
includes a "blood grove" for increased penetrating power? be honest schrade its not for any increased "penetrating power" its for structural integrity nothing more
Schrade had ONE good knife. Chris Tanner of Prepared Mind 101 designed the Jess X. The thing WAS invincible for $70. By the 3rd run they changed the grind destroying the design and muffed the heat treat. Tanner pulled his name and Schrade shot themselves in the foot.

All of these stuff is illegal to carry or use in public in Germany . Only hunters or fishing people with their license can use knifes in public.
The benefit of that is that you actually need to train to protect yourself. In the States plenty of fools buy guns and knives and just start carrying them without ever learning how and when to properly use them. The walk around with a ridiculous and false sense that they're now safe

Make sure to have a nice pointy knife when carrying with intent of self defense. A wide tip isnt going to go through crap nor will it scare as badly. From my experience the best combat knife you can use to cut through clothing are modern tantos. The special shape of the edge allows to cut through clothing with ease while also giving a excelent pearcing point. Always remember that a trust is deadlier than a cut but well placed cuts can also do a lot of good work
You don't really need to cut through clothing If you're skilled enough you can stab someone on the neck which would make it hard for them to breath and might kill them
There are many things that will work for stabbing, even a screwdriver will do the trick. What's really important in a edc knife is steel quality, length and handle grip design. you want the knife to be long enough that it can reach a vital organ if used for stabbing. Your going to want it to be made of good steel so the blade doesn't snap on you when you hit a rib or other bone. You also want it to hold a good edge for cutting open your attacker. And you want it to have a good handle/grip design so your hand doesn't slip off the handle and down the blade when the knife is covered in your attackers blood. There are many blade designs and what works for you comes down to personal preference, experience and what you will be using the knife for.
Now in regards to your comment, the best blade design for piercing and stabbing including clothing is not a tanto blade. It's a stiletto, dagger or poignard. Sykes fighting knife is a good example.
Although I carry a xds.45 and lcp2 as a backup i feel like I need a good knife to complete my concealed carry kit.
Not really because you're never going to be close enough to use it if you're smart. Also, edged weapons result in the highest rate of convictions when attempting to argue self defense. Statistically, you use an edged weapon you should plan to go to prison because the odds are stacked against you.

@@noahcarter1056 The problem with that is that because self defense is an affirmative defense the defendant has to prove by preponderance of the evidence and the fact that a knife is considered an offensive or dangerous weapon in untrained hands, it follows that if the prosecution can point to circumstances which allude to malice, they could well persuade a jury to convict on first degree murder. Rather, most people have the perception that someone carrying a knife is out looking for trouble, gang banging, or what have you such they're not likely to buy into self defense. Especially if the victim sustains any defensive injury whatsoever.

Given that most self-defense instructors start with RUNNING AWAY as the first, best option for defending oneself, I'm not seeing how any of these assist with self-defense as much as with setting oneself up to be killed via blood loss.

It’s not a kunai, it’s a push dagger. You put it in between your fingers a punch with it.
The tanto blade is made out of titanium nitrite with has shit edge retention it is scratch resistant but but the blade will easily chip
I have the pen one and its no joke. I tried it out on a very old car and it broke the whole window not any glass left.
An improvised slungshot made from a heavy set of keys on a 12inch heavy leather lanyard would be more effective than most of these is legal in all 50 states and most would never see it as a weapon let alone one of histories most effective and oldest personal protection weapons.

OK people look. All of these tools are great but if you want the best self defense tool out there it is actually, what we all already have. It is called your brain. If you can not get yourself into a heightened sense of awareness where violence is concerned you have already lost the battle. Any tool or device or gadget is useless if at first you do not engage your brain. If you are serious about defending yourself and your family locate a martial arts school and take classes, or at least find a school that teaches rape prevention seminars and self defense seminars. All the tools and gadgets are next to useless without proper training.
Knife is not a self defence item, it's even crazy to say it's for defence. Knife with blade like this leaves bleeding wounds that does little to stop stacker, punch him 20 times, but he'll probably bleed out after. If big knife, again, person will likely die after some time.

All this stuff about self protection devices is mainly irrelevant in the UK as most of it is illegal. What use is the alarm when the likelihood of anyone coming to help you is minimal? Nobody is armed so how can they help? This whole thing has become a joke in Great Britain,where self-defence is considered unfair to the assailant.

The first schrader knife looks like its just as likely to filet your fingers. In fact, you can see the user in the video has recently cut themselves. Additionally, the pepper ball gun is a terrible idea. If you're going to carry something that bulky why not just carry an actual gun instead of something thats likely to get you shot.
