Byrna is my choice less lethal. Then spray oc can.
the problem with the byrna is that although it is a great idea and they likely have the best potency of chemincals in their ammo compared to others, they have a serious design flaw. The ammo eventually breaks when stored in the magazine. This changes everything. if the ammo casing is too weak to withstand the strength of the mag spring, then you have to store it in the tube it comes in, but that makes the thing almost useless. You need to be able to keep it in the mag and ready to use in a moments notice. Byrna needs to either make the mag spring softer tension or increase the casing strength (and then possibly increase the speed of the projectile, to ensure it still breaks on impact. It is frustrating to me that people both who design things and many who find them such as this video channel dont do IN DEPTH RESEARCH to make sure they are offering the BEST possible product. seriously it is a fundamental flaw in an otherwise would be great product. why was I able to discover this flaw but you apparently didnt? did you look at reviews and tests and reports of people who own and use this product? I did. and i found it to be a deal breaker.
however, all that said, If they fix that flaw I would buy the byrna, until then, no thanks.

Nowadays self defense gear and gadgets are getting more and more important to have.
na mate all you need most of the time is a bunch of keys and we all have them. in the one or two situations slashing your keys at the face and kicking them in the balls doesn't work. your probably fu^ked regardless of what you are carrying.
best self defense is to not get there in the first place, and if you do, run. I think these weapons are handy as a last resort, but you shouldn’t rely on them like car brakes whenever you see fit.

I know that feeling, pepper to the face lol!!! Had to go through it when our department switched to OC From 587. I’ve also been through CN and CS.
I got pepper sprayed 3 times once for calling a woman cop a cunt. Twice was after I was handcuffed. I even kicked out the car window when they put me in with the windows rolled up. I won in court years later when they tried to change it from misdemeanor damage to police vehicle to felony. Apparently the estimate went above the felony amount. But I ended up winning in court because they didn’t leave the windows down 3”.

I want to buy a gun with pepper balls but I don't know which one is the best, I would like a video showing the different guns on the market and their characteristics.
I have seen in some videos that the byrna hd jams with some shots and that it shoots very little pepper powder. I have also seen the tcp launcher g22tech that shoots much more pepper powder and the shot is much stronger.
Who's gonna be carrying around the new "X83 Omega Cosmic Bomb Blaster O-Matic" when you can literally just carry a pocket knife or pepper spray and call it a day?
For a civilian, the pepperball pistol will get you shot as others will assume it is a real firearm and will return live deadly fire

I keep my Tipx with pepper rounds for home defense and pepper spray for out and about. Mine is the orange version and I still get nervous it might be mistaken for a firearm by a cop.

That bolo business is groovy. Glad to see it. When I was a kid I played with bolas and caltrops. Caltrops are three or four prongs made of thick steel wire that are twisted together so that when dropped at least one prong is always pointing up. The bolas was about four feet long and the caltrops were tied to the ends. Throwing it was counter intuitive. You'd think you'd throw it sidearm but you don't. You wind up a couple turns swinging it around over your head in a circle then throw with a sharp downward overhand flick. it takes practice. It should fly straight at the target still swinging in a circle. I could throw it at the 4"x4" wood post for the clothes line and it would wrap around five or six times then THUNKTHUNK! as the caltrops bit into the wood. The damned caltrops spun faster and faster as the line shortened wrapping the post. I figure I could take down a running giraffe pretty impressively. As I understand it bolas were invented in the Andes so dudes could catch wild alpacas no shit. I frikkin LOVE THE TINY NINEY! I wonder what that pistol costs?
The knives and pen are ridiculous. So you're gonna have to let someone get right up on you before defending yourself. I have the Byrna gun, was my best investment. No permit needed. Works real well. Have had to use it one time to keep from getting robbed. I keep it with me on every call I get.

Springfield 911 is not the best choice in 2020. Springfield Hellcat and Sig P365 are similar size, lighter, and almost double the ammo capacity. Sig comes with tritium 3 dot night sights and Hellcat has tritium front sight with rear U notch. Hellcat and P365 also come in optics ready versions if red dots are your preferred sighting method. 911 is also heavier than the P365 and Hellcat.
In my state, Louisiana I'd go with a 22 mag or 22LR with a 6 inch rifled barrel because I can own one with no license or registration at all. I had a Sport King I loved that was stolen from me and aim to replace it. The reason is because I don't believe in the idea of giving the State any info on me or my guns because during Hurricane Katrina they did come and Take peoples guns leaving those people defenceless. You can stop a man with a 22 and even kill them as the 22 is the caliber of choice for assassins. You may have to fire more than one round but it will do the job.

Knives n blades are best for those who know how to use them properly. Against a baseball bat or pipe, ya better know how to use a knife or blade!
The trick is get in close as soon as plausible. The longer your dodging around swings the higher the chance you have of getting hit. Taking a hit when your grappling with the person there isn’t enough leverage to hurt THAT bad. Try it out with your friends if you don’t believe me.
Self defense preparation is eligal in Canada.
The pen not a good idea if you're good enough to make that pen effective or an effective you don't need a weapon to begin with.

*Never trust the lock on any knife* I was a third class Bosun's Mate on a refueling ship in the Navy. I was off duty but we were refueling ships and my buddy lost his knife somefuckinghow and he needed one or would be in deep shit for not having one and he might in fact need one to save his life or others. Things can get sporty when you're on one end of 150' of line, holding on, paying out and hauling in as needed to keep it from hitting the water and getting ripped out of everyone's hands but anyway I gave him my precious. It was a Buck 110 folding hunter. It was sharper than any store bought razor, because I literally spent hours on it daily. It opened with the slightest twitch of my wrist and lightly clicked into the locked position. Not locked, just in the locked position.
I told that dude. Don't even remember his name now but he was a black dude around 21, like me. I told him to ask someone else 'cause my knife had a "broken" lock and was an accident waiting to happen. Dude didn't have time to go asking around so I showed him how it almost falls open and you could just push it closed, sliding right past the lock more like a detent. made him swear, yeah, you know where this is going. I made him swear that he wouldn't blame me or the knife and he damned well better not tell anyone the blade lock didn't work. The blade stayed open just as well as any folding knife, it just didn't lock. So dude takes the knife and heads to his refueling teams station. I take a nap 'cause in four hours it's my turn out on main deck above the arctic circle in the asshole of the North Atlantic.

In the next item after the very first knife is a type of gun looking thing I can't remember what it's called shoots out the pepper balls that would kind of seem like it's a good idea right and tell you look at it and know that it runs off a CO2 cartridges CO2 cartridges a problematical on the numerous scale they can leak out over time while you're sitting there and needing to use the weapon you go to use it it's fully loaded and brand new cartridge never used and nothing when you pull the trigger because it leaked out you want something that's reliable CO2 cartridges are not reliable not a good idea.
The main thing with these guns are that the cylinder remains unpunctured..and thus uncharged till you need it...and the first pull of the trigger punctures and charges...the second pull releases the first shot. Always good to finish off the charge after all is said and done, and reload with a fresh 12g cylinder. Thus no residual pressure remains whilst the piece is on standby....
None of this makes sense to me. False sense of security - if that’s what you’re looking for , great, enjoy it. A good knife or if you can get a CCW then that’s about as good as it gets. Good luck to all, it’s crazy out there.

Don't tell me it cannot happen, I saw it happen everyday during Hurricane Katrina leaving homeowners defenseless. No one believes Shall Not Be Infringed because if they did, they wouldn't give such info to tyrannical government. The ATF defines a firearm as a projectile weapon propelled by an explosive and that's what all the laws licenses and regulations support. We need Non explosive alternatives like a gauss/coil gun or rail gum but the technology isn't there yet.. problem is gun manufacturers who can design better are not doing it.
