In true Aussie style, it gets carted away on mattresses. Fabulous!

Once the lifeboat is on display in a museum, please feature it again.

Ace vid, Maurie Burgess used one to catch crayfish off the K.I. north coast before he was locked up in the Changhai P.O.W camp.

The Maid of Lincoln was in charge of my Great Grandfather, Captain Frederick William Marshal Millar of Glasgow Scotland. He was my mum's Grandfather. He sailed many ships in his time and married in New Zealand then moved to Melbourne. So, when he lost The Maid of Lincoln he was decommissioned for 6 months thus went home to Melbourne to his wife Margaret. She gave birth to a boy one year later - my Grandfather -SO if he hadn't sank the ship I would never have been born nor my sister, my cousins and aunts - our lives depended on him sinking the ship.
We are all amazed at this find and congratulations to all who helped revitalise the old lifeboat. I do wonder what The Captain would have said to the stowaway in that lifeboat...I can hear him now.

My great-great grandfather (Henry Crawford) built the Maid of Lincoln, so more than likely, built this lifeboat.

the captain of The Maid of Lincoln was my Great Great Grandfather, Frederick William Marshal Millar born 1855 in Glasgow Scotland. Learned the ropes on The Great Southern, sailed many ships one of which was torpedoed during WW1 but maid it to Perth for repairs because the torpedo apparently didn't explode to do maximum damage.

It's called preserving history first and foremost.
