Wish you showed more of the adjustability. I'm very tempted to get this monitor except that it does not have IPS panel and I worry about the QC and warranty issues. But at less than half the price of the Acer X34P or Asus PG348Q it might be worth the risk.

Hi there! Great review! I decided to pull the trigger because of your review! Quick question tho: does this monitor came with a built in speaker? I've seen the volume option in the option and my PC detect the monitor via DP, but I hear no sound at all even though I play around with the volume...
@@ScarA for what? if youre a gamer/working from home, youre probably sitting up close so viewing angles arent relevant. IPS actually are more expensive to have similar refresh rates to a VA or TN. IPS is generally wider color gamut while VA has better contrast and depth. you should read a bit more about the technology before making silly statements like this...
There are a few problems with your comparison! the actual price of the monitor is 600 euros (in CZ) where you can pick up the AOC cu34g2x with the same panel for 520 euros or less. Besides that I picked the AW3418DW last week for 600 euros ( on sale) considering the curved IPS vs VA and g-sync vs free sync, it is a much better buy.
Well, you can actually buy Mi Surface for around 400€ shipped directly from CZ warehouse (Banggood), meaning you would get item within 3-4 days. And to correct you - Mi Surface monitor also supports both free sync and also g-sync with all graphic cards starting GTX10 series.
im thinking of getting this you have said it is good for designers too so i do some graphic designing and illustrations what do you think about the colors?
@@NiuxTech in most cases it doesn't, because you never use windows across the entire width of the screen. It's actually better for window management to have multiple screens instead one large screen. Unless you use programs like DisplayFusion to create virtual monitors inside your larger monitor. That way you can press the 'maximize' button, and the window maximizes to a reasonable degree, instead of taking the entire screen
@@tundrastreaming you can create seperate virtual monitors simply by going to monitor settings and choosing one of presets. Also, working on premerie pro (at least for me) I love having my timeline without any monitor frames in between.
Unfortunately, I do not think it is flicker free. It's likely using PWM at a very high frequency > 2000Hz. On its website, it stops short of saying it is flicker free with the tautology: "No Visible Flicker - under normal operating conditions no flickering can be seen with the naked eye." which is really another way of saying it is not flicker free.
NiuxTech I think the aoc is cheaper because here in the Netherlands we pay 539€ with shipping cost for the aoc. I can only buy the Xiaomi from aliexpress of other China site’s for 520€ and besides that I pay customs clearance (TAX) aswel 21% above the retail price 👍🏼

HI bro Thank you for answering my questions 1.Is the color display on this monitor more saturated than IPS panels? I think the colors of the IPS panel are soulless. Please compare this to a laptop screen. And if you can, take a picture of the comparison between the monitor screen and your laptop. 2. Is the contrast rate of this monitor satisfactory? I want to buy this monitor and I just need to know these things Thank you very much
Hi. IPS panels are usually better for editing and color reproduction. I think it makes not much sense to compare with laptop, as every laptop has a different screens with different specs / color accuracy / brightness, etc.
Most probably you will not use monitor for pro level job, so it will be just fine. You can adjust colors / choose from different presets / adjust conttast & brightness based on your needs to match laptop (if you need so).
Hi, Niux. I also have a Razer blade, and I just recently got the Xiaomi 34" monitor. But the the DP cable doesn't fit with my razer, as there is no DP port on it. How did you get yours to work?
Thanks Duane! No problems after 6 months. Only thing I have noticed is colors reproduction. I might need to check and calibrate monitor, becauss sometimes It feels like colors are a bit off. But still - I have edited over 10 reviews on this display and the final video is pretty decent anyaways.
Hi, Niux. I am searching to buy the best ultrawide 144hz monitor. However, wherever I search I find the AOC one or Xiaomi one, and every video says "cheap" and "budget". I am simply looking for the best 144hz ultrawide, no price in mind. Which monitor do you think is the best?
Hi mate. Yes, still using almost every day for my work, sometimes also use it as a display for racing games + wheel. It's been more than 6 months since I have switched to Xiaomi Mi Surface and to be honest had no major problems during that period. Only 2 things I have noticed: 1) Color reproduction/accuracy. On the specs list it has great color accuracy, however when I am editing, I feel a bit that colors are a bit off compared to my laptop screen or mobile phone. Even though, I am still using Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro and I can still achieve result I want, so it's not a big deal for me at all. 2) Switching / resetting back to 60Hz mode. I have noticed that sometimes display goes back to 60Hz mode, even though before I have selected 144Hz. It only happens after I restart or turn on the laptop the next day, but maybe it's how it's supposed to work. Anyways, before I start playing any games - I go to settings to ensure 144Hz is selected and then I really enjoy the high fps, especially in racing simulators/arcade games. Other than that - this is a great display. I have zero regrets buying it and I am planning to keep at least for 1 more year or maybe longer until I feel a need for even better/larger display. There are no competitors at this price range to be honest, especially now, when you can get this Xiaomi display for 370 EUR / 440 USD...
@@NiuxTech thanks for your fast reply in great details! respect and subbed! I am actually in a great dilemma between this and the gigabyte g32qc. since both are priced nearly the same around 500usd! and both has their pros and cons. gigabyte having 50 nits more peak brightness and hdr10 support. whereas Xiaomi having the ultrawide. though my biggest concern is that xiaomi gives only 6 months warranty whereas gigabyte has 3 years of warranty. I trust xiaomi as a reliable brand but monitors can be subjective in this regard. in case anything goes wrong then there's no alternative other than buying a new one which is a burden! Just use it! Personally I am using Low Blue Light mode, to protect my eyes a bit more. But then I am editing (playing with colors) - I switch back normal mode.
Hey, @4:15 does the monitor have a Delta E 2000 over 3.8? Isn't that a bad value for colour reproduction? Just curious because I've heard that everything above 3 is quite noticeable. Great vid btw :)
Hi. Some brolls of my videos are used only for visual presentation. I haven't done colour reproduction/accuracy tests in that case, as currently I dont have tools for that. Cheers :))

Wish you showed more of the adjustability. I'm very tempted to get this monitor except that it does not have IPS panel and I worry about the QC and warranty issues. But at less than half the price of the Acer X34P or Asus PG348Q it might be worth the risk.
Having this monitor as daily driver for already 3.5 months now. No problems at all, good quality product for very reasonable price! I think you will enjoy it as well!

Hi. Thanks bro! I am using mini DP to DP cable (from Ugreen company). Works like charm 144Hz.

Quick question tho: does this monitor came with a built in speaker? I've seen the volume option in the option and my PC detect the monitor via DP, but I hear no sound at all even though I play around with the volume...

You can't compare it to other IPS panels without mentioning that they are IPS while the Xiaomi isn't. The Alienware being one example.
what else can u compare with this monitor then?
@@MaurizMuhammad Obviously other VA panels similar to it. The IPS panels are far superior compared to the Xiaomi.

Since I moved to work on 2 screens I can’t just use my laptop
Does the frame between monitors bother you of not at all? :)
On its website, it stops short of saying it is flicker free with the tautology: "No Visible Flicker - under normal operating conditions no flickering can be seen with the naked eye." which is really another way of saying it is not flicker free.

aoc cu34g2/bk Has exact the same specs
Yeah, almost the same, however AOC has "gamerish" design and seems to be more expensive than Xiaomi Mi Surface :))

HI bro
Thank you for answering my questions
1.Is the color display on this monitor more saturated than IPS panels?
I think the colors of the IPS panel are soulless.
Please compare this to a laptop screen.
And if you can, take a picture of the comparison between the monitor screen and your laptop.
2. Is the contrast rate of this monitor satisfactory?
I want to buy this monitor and I just need to know these things
Thank you very much
And if you are looking for pro level jobs - you should consider something in higher price range :))

Hi, how's the longevity, any new found cons and how's it to watch 4k movies.
Also loved the edit....nicely done👌🏽😊
Thanks Duane! No problems after 6 months. Only thing I have noticed is colors reproduction. I might need to check and calibrate monitor, becauss sometimes It feels like colors are a bit off. But still - I have edited over 10 reviews on this display and the final video is pretty decent anyaways.

Hi, Niux. I am searching to buy the best ultrawide 144hz monitor. However, wherever I search I find the AOC one or Xiaomi one, and every video says "cheap" and "budget". I am simply looking for the best 144hz ultrawide, no price in mind. Which monitor do you think is the best?
how is this display now? still good? saw a lot of negative feedback
Are you still using this display? if you are can you tell us about your experience after all these time?
Hi mate. Yes, still using almost every day for my work, sometimes also use it as a display for racing games + wheel.
It's been more than 6 months since I have switched to Xiaomi Mi Surface and to be honest had no major problems during that period.
Only 2 things I have noticed:
1) Color reproduction/accuracy.
I want to invest one time and keep it for as long as I can! so I am a little skeptical about this, normally I would opt for the gigabyte but I also really want to experience the ultrawide hype firsthand.
I want to use it for gaming and streaming. also a fair bit of coding.
*for work ultrawide should be a better choice but is it a problem for streaming?
what would you suggest me?
@@achannel6677 at the end just go with what do you feel like, follow what your heart says and wants. I has dozen of Xiaomi products and they never let me down to be honest.
