You can fix plastic things by using superglue + baking soda. Hardens like crazy and it won't move or break ever again. Also, carboard on the floor helps a lot for the spillages 😛
I have the plastic skid plate on my '20. It is the OEM skid plate off of a 2018 Enduro R. If all things mounting are the same, I never mess with the pins that are held on by the nuts you are having problems with. The front bolts come out and I just slide the pins out of the rubber grommets in the frame by pulling the skid plate forward. Maybe you can just get those tiny nuts tight with loctite and not dusturb them?
I did not, since I am using distilled water. I have used distilled water as a stand alone coolant many years ago in “oh shit” situations with cars like if you run out or have a leak to get you by for a couple miles so the extra drops won’t effect the system. I would just be sure to burp the system and check levels right after. You can then monitor the level on the reservoir tank in case ya need more! Now I am no mechanics but have not found any issues since so take it with a grain of salt haha
I typically do this 2 times a season for normal street riding, could be a little excessive but I would suggest at least once before you put it up for the year or take it out. If your riding on the track, I would suggest before every time you hit the track since these bikes get HOT out there!
Thank you! I got it on eBay and even have a video around the install on my channel if your wondering how the process goes for this specific seat cover www.ebay.com/itm/154340166710?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=NrJoHh7TRX6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I would think? Maybe? I’m not too well versed on the makeup of specific coolants but I have always used engine ice for all of my bikes but when it comes to my cars, my coolant is a green/yellow. Not a great comparison from apples to oranges haha
@@АлександрМатюшевский-н5ъ wow that’s interesting, I’m not sure there is a specific one that needs to be used, I have always used engine ice and it has worked great!
I looked through my manual (which recommends only motorex fluid) and just found that is similar to any fluid with g12+ specifications. And of course I am saying about EU bikes
@@АлександрМатюшевский-н5ъ Haha I am not well versed on the EU bikes but I do know there are a lot of changes.. Motorex is a good brand and with their pratnership with KTM makes for a great combo! I believe engine ice is g12+?? Maybe?? I havent had any issues and put nearly 1,000 miles between the two flushes with no over heating issues!
I would recommend for cleaning out the system since it won’t do any harm if some is left over but honestly in internet will tell you 16 different things hahah
I did the same thing lol. I tightened it how I always tighten them but this was my first 690 so I wanted peace of mind using a torque wrench and I ruined the threads inside the motor lol.
I noticed during the end of you filling your coolant that your brake reservoir cap was leaking its strangely common happened to mine after 1800 miles or so. The sm project cap seamed to help getting a bit better of a seal on it if its something that was bothering you.
New subscriber for this video. Thanks

Hahah thank you for the tips! I tend to make a damn mess every time I work on this thing..

Thanks for the feedback! I ended up going that route but I had to grease the pins since the fit was so tight.. lesson learned the hard way.. hahah
@@LifeWellRidden we all learn those kind of lessons, bro. Just not all of us will admit it. I like your channel! Keep 'em coming....you present well!
@@ironken1796 appreciate the love! And I’m not gunna hide it haha I might as well educate people on what not to do!
Dont ypu have to bleed the air fron the system??
Yupp!! Just run it for a bit after topping it off and then re-measure/add from there!
When you finish flushing with water, do you have to wait for the water to «dry» out before you continue the process?

How often should this actually be done??

hey, thanks for the video. I'm in the EU, My 701 takes yellow coolant. Is that the same as blue in the US?

Hi. My 690 2020 goes with red/pink fluid. After looking through the manual I used my G12+ from my car.

Can I just add on the tank to reach the 2 lines?
I am sure that could work but mnay take some etxra time. I prefer the radiator route to fill.
@@LifeWellRidden thank you , I mean if I should drain it or just add more from the tank .
@@user-bp6gr5zz2k if your low, I would just add to the tank, it is pressurized so it should pull anything extra with it’
Some say to use it some say not to use distilled water. Some say to use it to dilute. Lol

It is not the same stuff because it would go down to negative 25 and that does not.
Hell nah, I'm never using torque wrench again after I broke my oil filter cap nuts.
Damn! I bought the smallest one thinking it would wokr best and I'm hoping thats the case
hehe, I broke mine, NOT using a torque wrench, snapped the bolt right in there ffs, those bolts are not strong and barely need anything ...

Appreciate the advice! I was wondering why it would do that so quickly..
