How To Fix The Front Suspension On A Jaguar XJ8

This video covers 2004 to 2010 model years of the Jaguar XJ8 vehicles equipped with a factory air suspension system.

1) You Can Do Nothing -- Some vehicles, like the one in this video, are IMPOSSIBLE to drive when the computerized factory suspension goes bad. And if you DO keep driving the vehicle, it is DANGEROUS. Some suspension failures end very badly, even causing an accident. Lou says, FIX THE VEHICLE as soon as possible.
2) Fix It At The Dealer -- Perfect solution IF you are willing to spend potentially MORE than the vehicle is worth just to fix the factory suspension. Most customers don't have the money. The ones that do are too smart to sink five grand or more into just ONE repair on an older vehicle. Lou says, PASS ON SPENDING BIG BUCKS.
3) Trade It or Sell It -- Good luck with getting a fair price for an almost undriveable vehicle. Do you really want to get rock bottom value for a vehicle you loved and had so much invested in prior to the suspension failure? And can you take on ANOTHER luxury vehicle payment that can easily land in the $500 to $800 a month range for years to come? Plus your insurance will go way up. Lou says, DON'T GIVE AWAY A GOOD CAR!
4) Throw Parts At It -- The sooner you understand that NOT JUST ONE part is broken, but an entire system is going bad, the better. We have had thousands of customers go the route of replacement parts and regret it. Our video library is filled with customer vehicles that had hundreds, even thousands spent on them before a conversion kit was installed. ALL of these active factory suspensions are complicated and do you really want to work on the same issue over and over? A bunch of cheap parts still adds up to a huge investment. Hello there, tried using a t60 torx bit to remove control arm and does not fit. Any suggestions ?
