Great video my friend! And nice 450! I was actually thinking about doing the same with the intake on my 2024 700R and was gonna try the Niche aftermarket lid that lets it Breathe better but i wound up just getting the fci intake! I truly believe both methods gotta be close in performance, especially with that Niche lid! One thing i noticed before getting the big 3, is that taking the air box lid off definitely makes a difference! I ran it like that for a while and it was fine! Im still amazed at how much bigger the air intake/filter is for the 450 vs the 700! I had the trx450 fuel custom intake on my z400 and i guess thats why the 700 intake seemed so small! Lol anyhow! @TerrellSpivey it was an eye opener when I saw just how restricted the OEM intake is. It's going to be alot of fun seeing what performance I can squeeze out of it with minimal modifications. 🤘🏼
Ironic............ I have a YFZR sitting in my garage right now (The American Flag Practice quad) with sheered off flywheel bolts and who knows how much damage!! Great choice of upgrade!! My old Race quad that you've ridden and been around many times, had the same GYTR Billet intake flange that you did with a Twin Air foam filter. The only difference is I did what Logan did, and added the FCI intake Tube to the stock air box because the stock intake tube has a sharp angle that limits airflow. Love that stem and bars as well!!! So clean looking!
I was looking at the rp race also, the full length one. I had the gytr adapter on my blue Raptor, works great and made a big difference and you still have ability to run a lid in wet conditions. i may go with an ecu flash from EHS racing to avoid the piggy back trouble. Not sure yet.
I dont like the thick odi lock-on grips either, I like the thinner grips also, and I have big hands, just feels like I have more control. Do the gbc ground busters let you kick the back end around and cut donuts ok? I ran the xc masters bit the hooked up so well they wouldn't really let you kick the rear around, they would try to bite and 2 wheel. I ride for fun and like to cut up.

@@vintagetrikesandquads4012 Jeff Schrick has a dyno and software to flash the ECU. He doesn't have any base maps yet, so I'll put mine on the rollers to really get the most out of it.
I went to order the handle bars but they have different height and sweep selections. Would you be able to tell me which one you specifically got? Thanks in advance!
@mikemcghee2460 it will make life much easier, but you do, at least, need a tune. If you send your ecu to Alba, and they can reflash it and get you riding with a slip-on. Stock ecu's are more of a pain to tune on a dyno than the Vortex or other fuel controllers.
@@trevorwilkinson8647 you can definitely feel the stiffer springs in the new clutch. Hinson also has a BTL Slipper clutch that may have a lighter pull.
I'm looking into buying a quad. Since you've owned both, how would you compare the Yfz 450 to the Honda 450r? I'm looking for 2006- 2008 year models. I borrowed a Honda 400 and am looking into one of those as well. I'll be riding in the same areas you ride and possibly Glamis/buttercup.
@asg7861 the new YFZ is better right off the showroom floor. In the handling and suspension department. The carbed YFZ was good, but Honda was better IMO. The Honda is easier to build power out of with simple mods like jetting, open airbox, pipe, and cam. But the YFZ is awesome right off the bat. I had to add shocks, arms, axle and linkage to get my Hondas up to par with the YFZ.

@donwon1374 I ordered the oem thrust washer, lock washer and hardware from Rocky Mountain ATV. The hinson components came straight from Hinson, and the gear came on a used oem basket I bought off of someone second hand.
Funny how he didn't mention some the other parts like the beadlocks and tires that's about 800 or so right there easy. None of what he is saying is cheap!!!
@jessefletcher2736 😆 What is funny? The front wheels are some rolled lip GPS with some already used GB III front tires I've had AND it's one of the first things I mention in the video, so... what are you getting at?

@@jb1.. the Ground Busters act more like an MX tire. They have a controllable slide and a softer "stickier" feel to them.
Also forgot to say you’ll have to check out the RP exhaust heat shield to keep from melting boots on that back section of pipe

Did you buy the Hinson with the gear already installed, or did you have to buy the OEM basket first and remove it?
@vintagetrikesandquads4012 I bought a used 09-14 basket off of someone so I could rob the correct gear off of it.
With the new clutch you installed, does that make the pull harder? I have an old injury in my left hand so I like an easy pull.

How did you get the RPexhaust to fit with the parking brake cable guide? Or did you remove the cable guide?
