F1shittyGarage sxs has faded out finally. The problem is the soft comfy riders need power steering, big ass suspension, no gears , heated thumb grips. It’s more comfy on a grizzly than a sport quad and they do the same thing , go the same speed .
I just turned 18 and started working, and my dad gave me his 06 Ltz 400, slightly modified. I'm so happy, he knew I always loved that quad and gave it to me as a present, and it's street legal too !
I never broke in a machine and they where always just fine. Most important IMO is to always let the motor get to full operating temperature before running it hard regardless if new or broken it.
Same here. Riding it hard the first few hours is actually good for it since it sits the piston rings better. After I had my mustang cobra rebuilt by a highly reputable shop, I was told by the owner to bring the rpms from 2000 rpm to 6000 rpm and let the engine bring down the rpms back down to 2000 and do that 3 times. And this was right after the 1st start up and it had warmed up from normal driving NOT IDLING.

My ltr450 with walsh suspect and fox shocks gave me the confidence did feel in the yamaha or honda. Handles like its on rails and never worry bout over shooting or landing short on jumps. Amazing machine
Awesome Pete- just bought one of these myself- HARD TO FIND! I installed the Vortex ECU and I have the FCI intake and Fat Boy 4 National arriving soon- the Vortex ECU brought my 450r out of the bog coma.... it's an entirely new machine. Good luck and great videos!
Excited for u buddy. My 2011 yfz450x is a monster. Blew it up in 2012 bc of drain plug leaking oil after clutch service. Built the way i wanted after the mistake, this thing is stupid will race any quad I'm ky. Never had a competition. Best race was a mild build polaris 500 outlaw. You've got a real monster
Sweet addition. That blue is stunning! I always felt Yamaha had a "meet and potatoes" look to their Blaster, Banshee and warrior. They've made some sleek machines with the Raptor and YFZ. Have fun at Little Sahara. I've been needing to get it there. Just got back from a week at the Hatfield/McCoy trails earlier this morning. My ATC 350X got more attention then previous trips.

Get a Curtis sparks exhaust and curtis sparks drop in camshaft if they have the aftermarket CDI box still get that too that gives you a 1000 more RPMs. you will not be disappointed i have that on my 400EX its very loud and woke as much as you can get before hard mechanical work like boar kits and shit. Im very happy with the 3 Curtis sparks mods I put on mine
@@kdcustoms1272 i have the full system and the sparks drop in cam and sparks after market CDI box which gives me a 1000 more RPMs. It woke my quad up alot without boring it out.
Be carful. One of the things I noticed with my 2020 YFZ450r. That I actually had to go get serviced was. I was out In the woods with my cousin and his buddy’s. And the power completely shut off to it. And I thought I fried it but the Terminal on the actual battery, the stock Yamaha battery had been breaking off. Just something to be carful about because it shut off on me mid ride.
its awesome to see someone actually respecting the machine they just bought and run the engine in smoothly, rather than thrashing it right out the gate. cudos man. size wise whats it like? I had an ltz and regret letting it go, want to get a new quad, thinking this or a raptor 700. im 6ft4 though so tricky to get a smaller bike without looking like the BFG riding it
Thanks man! The Raptor 700 is definitely the more comfortable out of the 2. I have a few taller friends and they fit perfect on them. I really enjoy riding the YFZ if I want to be more aggressive but the Raptor definitely has its place for those fun, casual rides 😊👍

You inspired me to get a sport quad so I picked up a 07 z400. Haven’t got to ride to much because the chain kept popping off. But I just installed new rear axle,sprocket and chain. Now it should be good to go!
@@hiTCAM00 hell yeah, my mechanic was supposed to make sure my crank was balanced but he broke it somehow so now im waiting on a crank and she should be back together in no time. They are a hell of a lot of fun to rebuild but the guy who had it before me rebuilt pretty much everything, except he fucked up on the motor

I have a 04. You won’t be disappointed. But do a fci intake, dasa exhaust, vortex ecu and it will really wake it up.

Awesome atv!! I just picked up a ds450 myself. Always had older atvs this one is only 2010 but wow what a difference.
First thing you gotta do is switch out the clutch basket for a older model they all explode

I got one on my raptor 660, It's the best single exhaust you can get for a 660. love it.

Sparks is old news for the yfz. Rossier, empire are much better
