While I haven't flown on Alaska Airlines in some time, I'm very intrigued by this card, especially if the companion certificate ends up being valid for partner bookings. May also just be a sign up bonus play. Great update Matt!
I am stoked about this. I live in Alaska, so 99% of my flights are Alaska Air. The international companion ticket and lounge access is huge. Lounge access is $550 by itself and the SeaTac has some really nice lounges. And you cannot buy a day pass at most of the Alaska air lounges, so a membership is the only reliable way to access them.
The 3x on foreign purchases is novel and definitely quite interesting, but it's not on my radar since AS isn't a major carrier at my local airport and I probably wouldn't frequent AS lounges (maybe if partner airlines are involved it would be more beneficial for me), but there are other cards I'd want to get first before this one
I was thinking about getting Hawaiian Airlines credit card 70,000 bonus miles. Transfer to Alaska Airlines. Use the miles with American Airlines. I fly out of Gainesville, Florida. Only delta and American Airlines fly out. Great job on UA-cam ♥️
@@MattWelterOfficial The companion pass is huge for me. I fly to Asia a lot and I’m based in Seattle. I’ve also been a Mileage Plan member for over 20 years. This card is a shoo-in for me.
@@Chris-N916 It's huge for me too! I definitely want to use that internationally more often, but even just for flights over to Hawaii I'm getting $3-400 in value.
Not sure yet, the multipliers will be the key here, curious on the accelertaed paths as well. The lounge pass does nothing for me as my work pays for my lounge plus every year. I wonder how much overlap we will see from my 100K benefits? I know they really devalued the system next year by eliminating the extra 100K bouns points for reaching 75K and 100K. The only thing that was good that came out of all this was the 10K rollover and being able to earm EQM on award bookings.
Hey Matt. Great video. Im thinking about this new card when it comes out. Have to weigh the benefits which might be hard to justify living in the midwest. I just got the Alaska Mileage Plan card in October for the 60K offer.
What are your thoughts on the initial components of this Premium Alaska Airlines Credit Card?

As with any airline, the more u fly the airline the more each card in lineup is useful.🤙

Joined the Alaska Mileage Plan to get on the waitlist. Could be a game changer
I like Alaska & curious to see what type of premium card they'll come out with. Thanks for the info + video!
Nice breakdown! This one is definitely on my radar
Definitely getting it!
I'm definitely considering it as well! Thanks for watching Chris!

I’ll consider it. I’m wanting to acquire more Alaska miles so I’ll take a look when the card is live
The global companion award certificate might be huge. I travel to Asia a lot so this card might be a must have.
I’m on the waitlist for this card. Let’s see what it offers. Thanks for the vid, Matt.
