Don't feel too bad because I was eleven and I wasn't old enough to go. I guess my older siblings should have gone and taken me but we couldn't afford to see elvis for ten bucks.

I am a late Hippie. I was 13 when this happened. But it was the blueprint for my ilfe. However we had a really hard time in the 70s keeping up the spirit of peace and love. Everybody said that beeing a Hippie was "out" which I refused to believe till today. Beeing kind and postitive is always "in".

This all brings up many feelings and memories! I almost went to Woodstock. Instead drove too Florida in rain to register for 1st year of college. But! I made up for not being there. Started playing guitar and played in some great bands in Boston. Then became a photographer. Been published many times including 5 music magazines. And have two books. Even photos in the Smithsonian from 9/11. So I took that Woodstock spirit and used it in my life. Finally made it to the 50th at Bethel Woods and Yasgurs Farm taking photos. Then my Mom passed away the next week. I guess i went full circle. Even got to meet Michael Lang at Yasgurs Farm . He seemed to be at Peace with everything. And hats off to Elliot Landry for all the great photos. PEACE! PS. Some of my 50th photos did make it into a great local paper in Northampton Ma.

Much appreciated video. I knew photographer Jim Marshall was at Woodstock but not Elliot. Excellent work, sir, one frame at a time. No motor drive, no autofocus, no checking on the back of a digital camera to see if you got things right, just a couple old Leicas you could probably go to war with. Wish we could see more. Great job.

Another Woodstock like that one unfortunately won't never happen again. Nowadays we are living
dangerous times, greedy politicians, racism, hatred among people, lack of love and peace, sharing and so on. For me, that festival set the example.

I don't think anyone who was at Woodstock (and I was there for the whole thing), returned home and continued to be the same person they were before it. It was a transformative event, in my then, young life.

Lots of history there, I was 5 but people camped on our lawn! My mom was friends with “Maxie” who’s land it was on. Her brother (my uncle) was a medic there and is in a few somewhat famous pictures. There is a really cool museum there now (Bethel Woods) and well worth a visit especially on a concert day.

Did Elliot Landy take the pictures that were used in the LIFE Magazine Special that came out months later...? Because if he is, then I saw him a few days after the end of the show with his camera up there on the stage pointed and snappen in my direction and I found myself in the special, but of course, the details of my face are not sufficiently detailed to convince anybody but myself...! It was a very big and professional looking camera that I saw...

So that’s the way it happened. And if it didn’t happen it’s nice to know why it didn’t happen so in the future if we want to keep doing something we need to know why something stopped in the past if we want to keep it going. It's Only Going to get Larger as the World Shrinks with an ever increasing pace , The fantastic speed with which the world is shrinking there is sure to be an even Larger Celebration of Love and Peace :) QC

Elliott is not the Official Photographer at Woodstock; Henry Diltz is the Official Photographer - (nor is he one of two official photographers as he says.)
Barry Z Levine also had full stage and helicopter access as still photographer on the Academy Award winning film WOODSTOCK.
Elliott is hard to believe in more ways than one - see the Diltz related comments below.
