Merci d'avoir posté cet extraordinaire enregistrement. Lili Boulanger avait 18 ans quand elle a écrit ce sublime nocturne !

It seems that Nadia Boulanger's teaching influenced even more great composers of the future than the unique works of her younger sister. This beautiful recording makes me wish to hear Thibaud or Kreisler playing the same repertoire. Bit too late!

Nadia influenced Piazolla to stay with his tango, and not trying to do european music. With a good result!

Savitri Grier's interpretation of this beautiful piece is also worth hearing - also on You Tube

The pianist is the composer's sister. So she must be the closest to know how her sister wants this piece to be played.

And the violinist is to whom Lili dedicated the 2nd mvt. of this work ("Cortège"). Really amazing to have this interpretation documented.

2ndviolinist don’t worry, it doesn’t have any sense even in French, basically she says that in Wikipedia she (?) is referred as « He » on Wikipedia, same for Ginette Neveu (who was apparently her aunt), and she is not happy because « they are women and not men » !! 😂

the book of Rosenstiel is signalized as containing a lot of errors about events and dates and also analysis...... better is, but only in french i believe: "A la recherche de Lili Boulanger" of Jerome Spycket, nusician and writer
