My daughter recently enlisted (made it in the army band as a bass player) and left for boot camp this week. I’m super proud of her and scared for her at the same time. Seeing all the supportive messages on this video helps me feel a little more at peace for her and her upcoming journey. I wish I had the time to respond to each of your comments. I am so glad that this project has made a positive impact on so many. Thank you all for your service and support!
Both my husband and son were Army Rangers. My husband was lost to an accident. My Son, and only child, could not process what he had experienced and took his life This song is one that I can only wish that he had heard.
This song brings tears to my eyes. I - a Marine for eternity - was a machinegunner with Echo/2/4 in '66 and '67. I lost too many friends, brothers actually, and reflect often, too much probably. Many S&D operations, 17 - but who's counting. I love and pray for your sister. NOBODY understands unless they were there also. God Bless and Semper Fi!!!
YOU ARE DEFINITELY WORTH IT AND MUCH MUCH MORE! THANK YOU IS NOT ENOUGH BUT IT IS ALL I CAN AFFORD TO GIVE! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU ALL SAFE!
Hi I am a triple Amputee with PTSD I now reach out to help others as I fight my own battles I am proud of all the families and folks dealing with it Norm
❤❤❤ I am an Army brat and the sister of 3 brothers who are veterans. God bless our veterans and heal them. Thank You All for your great sacrafices and commitment to service for the USA!
Thank you every man and woman for defending my freedom at your own expense. This is the first time I have heard this song sung well enough that I could understand the words. If you are fighting demons because of the experiences you have had to endure and see, please get help. Don't let the enemy succeed in taking you. Stand Tall!
Thank you for this heartwarming song, so many people don’t know the pain of those who suffer in silence. They see not the pain, thank you my sister you are never alone.

WELCOME HOME brother so glad you made it out. My heart is heavy over the weight you carry sir but I want you to know how much I a civilian living in a free land because of men like you appreciate you and your brothers sacrifices made on others behalf. My buddy Vinny To is from Saigon he immigrated to the states in 79. His father served with the south Vietnamese airborne a real high speed outfit. After the communists took over they rounded up and killed many who'd fought against them Vinnys dad included. Vinny is now an American citizen and so thankful for those who helped his country men like you Curtis. Thank you sir for serving this nation especially at the time you did so for a nation falls when no one answers the call to duty. The despicable treatment you all received upon returning home is a dark stain upon American history. If it hadn't been the likes of men such as you Curtis America in fact the world would be a much darker place.
My Heart breaks as I listen to this very touching Veterans version of Hallelujah, I cannot begin to imagine the Pain some will never be able to clear from their Minds. My close High School buddy just Retired last year after 40+ yrs of Active Duty (82nd Airborne, 101st Airborne, 10th Mountain); I Pray he will not face the same mental trauma so many of our Combat Veterans live with each day. God Bless each and every one of you and please know our Prayers are with each of you daily; and most of all,, Thank You for the very Freedom you allow each of us to enjoy every day of our lives!
Thank you for sharing this truly emotive song. As a former Royal Navy sailor, this really brings home the need to help and support to all Service personnel, no matter what flag we fight under.
I have a Kurdish friend. Im Australian. Was security forces with US forces fighting against Islamic State. The night before opening the road to Mosul he told me they had a camp fire and his best friend dance kurdish dance and sang some songs..my friend is shy and not a dancer but they had a good night. The Peshmerger with did some hard yards the first days and my friend with US servicemen imbedded were quickly bombarded by suicide bombers & downpour of mortars - my memory is failing me now as I get old...but his lost his friend to a mortar, the air support did not arrive and they were 4 days with only biscuits and water - he was texting me goodbye & telling me he loved me and to take care of his parents. He survived. Do you know, no one ever said thank you to him until I met a US citizen in Sydney and was telling him his story and he passed on his "thank you" - my friend cried. Thank you for your service to humanity. And this is a beautiful version
@Thereelshera I've listened to this about 5 times. It's beautiful and touching. It also strikes a chord with a new relative of yours who was also diagnosed by the VA with severe PTSD. You don't always have to be in a war zone. There is stress being ready at any time to do so. And, living in countries where many people hate the USA and you sign your life away leaving base. Thanks for sharing this and our thoughts are with your daughter and her journey.
Thank you is not enough for making the ultimate sacrifice and being brave enough to put your life on the line selflessly!! You the soldiers are truly heroes!! Thank you from my family to yours. We will continue to pray for each and everyone of you.
Thank you. I will make sure to share your words with my sister, who is the main singer for this video and hence, is also the one who recently retired from military service. I am proud of her and also grateful for the sacrifices she has made.
I couldn't have said it any better. We are a grateful nation, but sometimes the words thank you does not seem adequate. But...Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have service men and women in my family. I am so proud of them. And of all service men and women. God Bless America!!!🗽🇺🇲🇺🇸
When I came home to the farm, I was lucky. First of all, in our rural community the older men and women couldn't be nicer to us. They had known most of us since we were little boys. It was almost like everyone treated us like we were their own sons. Second of all, my dad got calves at about 450lbs and fed them out to about 1400lbs. It was working with these cattle that I felt the most at peace. They were like a cathartic to me. Those cattle brought me back to the world. USMC Dec 1969-Sept 1971
Wonderful - Listen to it again.... A cry for brothers in arms not to succumb to their tragedies. We slowly learned after Viet Nam not to treat our vets like shit for people who seemingly didn't give a shit about us - but have we learned what we've asked our vets to do, almost ceasely return to an overwhelming number of people of a nation who at the end didn't give a shit about us - to wit - 13 beautiful Americans lost simply for trying to leave.
My M-48-A3 was on Hyw 1 18 miles outside of Da nang, we hit a large mine in the road. It blew me out the hatch, the rest of the crew I assume were killed, I was found 6 hours later laying in the weeds. When I finally woke up I was in some hospital in Japan. I got my hearing back an they sent me back in an gave me another tank. Now in my later years of my life I'm Divorced an my hearing is worse to the point where I'm having to learn hand sign language. I left the war behind and it followed me home. Just to make a point I bought a new 2020 Ram 2500 pick up truck. To this day honestly I only have 21,000 miles on it, I don't go around people much at all. Only when I need groceries, or to pay bill, or to go to my V.A. appointments, other than this I stay at home with my 5 cats an that's it. Curt. U.S.M.C.
To start thank you for your service, but that doesn’t seem like it’s enough. You song is a beautiful tribute to all service men and women. No matter what you are true heros in our eyes. Know your pain is also our pain your fight should be our fight. My father was a WWII veteran. I know he had demons D-Day, the battle of the bulge of. But he never spoke about it at all. You brought the struggles to light with this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
