Porsche are beautiful cars but oh my gosh, the Roma is so gorgeous it makes the 911 look mediocre. I think Roma looks best in dark colors, this particular model isn't even the prettiest version of it.
She nailed it with the final word. If u can afford EITHER of these cars in the world of 2023 with insane prices on vehicles of this caliber, then its a pretty high chance you can afford to own them both, so why choose 🤷🏾♂️
I love that Bordeaux leather interior in the 911 Turbo, I have a Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid Sport Turismo with black and Bordeaux leather. And I also have a Roma, I daily drive the Panamera because it's incredibly practical as for the Roma we take it out on special occasions.
Porsche has never been a trophy car- its for someone with fine taste and appreciation for superlative engineering and to add the indulgence for absolute tearaway driving. BTW, lovely presentation by Alex- she's so amazing and with Rory, probably one of the best automotive duo on the planet. Heart broke knowing she's married and has kids 🤣 Just kidding!
I would take the Roma. I've owned 3 Porsche's and while they handle great, the looks of a Porsche leave a lot to be desired. The Roma has the edge, even if its slower and not as practical.
I would also take the Ferrari its more fun to drive, i prefer RWD, it sounds better, its better looking especially given all 911s look basically the same for many decades. Its also a more prestigious brand. If i was some kind of racing performer that needed to win races i would take the 911 but i dont need that.
As a former Ferrari owner, I can easily tell you that any Porsche you buy will have a higher manufacturing quality. A brand-new Ferrari is one car, and the same brand-new Ferrari with 25000 miles on it is an entirely different car. That does not always apply to Porsche, at least in my multiple Ferrari and Porsche ownerships over the past thirty years. I have found that my Porsche was always of a higher mechanical and construction standard than my Ferraris. I have two Porsche, but I sold my last Ferrari several years ago and will never buy another one. My daily driver is a 2020 Panamera with 41,400+ miles on it as of today.
Neither are affordable for 99.9% of us. They're both fantastic and pointless in equal measures. I'd personally have the 911 out of the 2, but in a world of financial crisis and wars, they look a bit silly to my eyes. There's plenty of sports cars that will give you just as many thrills for less. Lotus emira for example
Excellent presentation! If find it personally very hard to analyze the “beauty” of the 911 because I have loved them for so many decades. Its looks are “iconic.” And by that I mean I can’t analyze the curves, or shape objectively in any sense, it is just a “911,” and they have always been amazing to contemplate (especially the thrill of the mid-70’s turbo)…the looks are intertwined inexorably with the whole experience. The interior and the technology user interface on the Roma is garbage, just plain and simple…garbage. With regards to price you will never ever see a Roma at the price you quoted. Options are insanely expensive and just a modicum of options (ones most owners would consider essential and not flamboyant) will make it more expensive than the 911 Turbo S. I think it is curious you mention that perhaps it would have been more “fair” to compare the Roma to the 911 Turbo (rather than the S) when the price differential was essentially the same on either side of the Roma (+/- 10K pounds). Why? The comparison to the 911 Turbo S is perfectly appropriate, and in fact as mentioned the Porsche is still cheaper than the Ferrari. You ultimately chose the Ferrari for the same reason so many do…the emotional magic of the Ferrari brand is king, and has been for decades. Objectively their cars are not superior to many of their competitors, but none of their competitors have that magical prancing horse on the bonnet.
"The interior and the technology user interface on the Roma is garbage"? I strongly disagree; the interior looks fantastic and is highly customizable in terms of color options (you can also spec it with dual color), stitching, materials, seats and other details. There's an online configurator you can use to explore the many available options. The infotainment interface could indeed have been better but, really, who cares?
Objectively their cars Are superior in their class, from the 430 and 458 to the 296 and sf90. Also the Turbo s is essentialy a car that is aimed at comfort and speed while the Roma although a Gt car is more made for driving dynamics. But i agere with you on the beauty of 911’s.
@@zix_zix_zix Well, we can agree to disagree then. Their digital interface has no place in a Ferrari IMO. The iPad-like tablet in the center console looks as though it were designed in an elementary school art class. As far as the rest of the leather, etc., it is the standard Ferrari stuff which means it is nice but not particularly special. I have been an owner of numerous Ferraris and currently have a 458 and an 812GTS. Have you ever spent any time in an Aston, Bentley or Rolls? Now those interiors are indeed special.
@@tobiasjtaule8867 When it comes to being “objective” the only true objective measure of a sports car is track time standardized by using same driver, same track, and same tires (preferably on same day testing). You can look up track times online easily, ie: Big Willow. Just recently there is a video containing lap times in France at Nevers Magny-Cours Club, same driver and tires listed (easily searchable on UA-cam). You know which car consistently kicks Ferrari’s butt on track after track? The “lowly” Corvette Z06. Ferrari’s for many many years are not the top dogs performance wise at any track in the world. In addition, when it comes to reliable, usable, and exhilarating club racing events the cars that dominate are Porsche 911, Corvette, BMW, and of course the Mazda Miata. The reason for buying a Ferrari is the pure emotion the brand brings, and unfortunately increasingly the status symbol (especially in our social media driven world).
@@Rob02138 I am not a fan of the infotainment screens either - particularly when they stick out like a tablet. I am afraid this is the trend of the days though and literally every manufacturer installs them on their cars nowadays. Obviously, these systems are going to be completely outdated in a few years, no matter how cleverly you have managed to incorporate it into your interior (like Bentley do with their rotating system). Moreover, I can appreciate the plushness and the rich materials in a Bentley or Rolls but I would not want something like that in a Ferrari (especially in mid engine models). It's just a different feeling and sensation. I believe that Ferrari have worked very hard to offer the driver EXACTLY the feeling and sensation needed for their cars - obviously this is not just a matter of materials and interior design but a combination of every single part, the noise, the stiffness, the dimensions etc. Congrats for owning those great cars btw :)
IdK, I think I'd go with the Porsche. Modern Ferraris just don't do it for me anymore. Maybe its supercar oversaturation but their styling just hasn't been the same hook-me-in since the 458 era. I would definitely go with the 911 Turbo over that Roma.

For a normal non race car driver the Ferrari badge would be hard to resist… as long as it wasn’t your only car.. (pole today for Charles 🏎️🏎️) 😎
Porsche are beautiful cars but oh my gosh, the Roma is so gorgeous it makes the 911 look mediocre. I think Roma looks best in dark colors, this particular model isn't even the prettiest version of it.
Ferrari so good, she's willing to sell her house, her grandmother and her child. That's about the right amount of excitement
Tough choice is money is no object. But the Roma is more romantic with a lot more sensations in it.
The Roma is such a beauty though... that design is 🔥
Everyone is commenting on how great the cars are however the cinematic production is absolutely on another level 👌
I have to agree, I have both vehicles but find myself in the Roma a lot more often...........
In Gran Turismo
Lmao
She nailed it with the final word. If u can afford EITHER of these cars in the world of 2023 with insane prices on vehicles of this caliber, then its a pretty high chance you can afford to own them both, so why choose 🤷🏾♂️
When you see that childless smile, you know it’s the one
I think I'll choose the one that you'll choose. I trust your judgment
3:25 on that day little timmy was kicked out of the house and was replaced by a BEAUTIFUL Ferrari Roma. I mean who wouldn't?
I love how she described the Porsche as an angry bullfrog lol 😆. I've never heard that one
Waiting on the power between 3 & 6000, rpm in my old school book you call that lag, so when you're waiting to get going, the Porsche has already gone
Porsche has never been a trophy car- its for someone with fine taste and appreciation for superlative engineering and to add the indulgence for absolute tearaway driving. BTW, lovely presentation by Alex- she's so amazing and with Rory, probably one of the best automotive duo on the planet. Heart broke knowing she's married and has kids 🤣 Just kidding!
what do you consider a trophy car

I would take the Roma. I've owned 3 Porsche's and while they handle great, the looks of a Porsche leave a lot to be desired. The Roma has the edge, even if its slower and not as practical.
From the side and back the Roma looks like a Jaguar.
Yes I agree !!!!!
I would also take the Ferrari its more fun to drive, i prefer RWD, it sounds better, its better looking especially given all 911s look basically the same for many decades. Its also a more prestigious brand. If i was some kind of racing performer that needed to win races i would take the 911 but i dont need that.
I definitely go for engineering and practical thought.
- Therefore I go Porsche ❤️
You didn’t mention the reaylibility of the prsche the gearbox of porsche never breakdown
Porsche all day long!!! Dream car!!! I love it!!! How it looks, outside, inside and how is sound!!! And the acceleration just astonishing!!!
Totally agree. I'm sorry, but I'm one of those people that find it difficult to tell any Porsche apart 😂
How this channel is so underrated is so unbelievable 😮
Neither are affordable for 99.9% of us. They're both fantastic and pointless in equal measures.
I'd personally have the 911 out of the 2, but in a world of financial crisis and wars, they look a bit silly to my eyes.
There's plenty of sports cars that will give you just as many thrills for less. Lotus emira for example
Since most would hardly need the performance, the Roma is a better buy and has that appeal for the money
The 911 is better, but I'd choose the Roma just because it's a Ferrari 😍
Fun is everything. No need for outright speed.
911 is Timeless
All Porsche looks the same with old school looking, so my vote goes to Ferrari Rome it looks amazing 🔥🔥🔥❤

Well, we can agree to disagree then.

When it comes to being “objective” the only true objective measure of a sports car is track time standardized by using same driver, same track, and same tires (preferably on same day testing).
Roma gives vibe of a Maserati...
I cant say no to that Roma...boy i tell you, its a beauty
I'm not really a Porsche guy, but 911 100%.
Unless I can sell the Ferrari without getting sued
Where in Wales was this filmed?
What question is that? 911 all day every day.
As a 911 owner of over 20+ Years, and someone who has owned 914, 924, 944T , 928 GTS, and many other German cars, not just Porsche, but it wasn't until i got my first 911 C2, and now the 911 C4, I totally understand the "PORSCHE, There is NO Substitute." Slogan.
Great review Alex. I'd take the Roma 🔥
