agreed..I saw Maiden 2 Days ago in Munich..I`ve been at a lot of concerts over the years, but Maiden had the best live sound I`ve ever heard

The O2 arena is as loud and unhospitable for soundguys as any other arena, and it sounded amazing. Incredible job.

Ive been to 100's of concerts and always wore earplugs to protect my hearing. Ive never seen Maid😅en live and they're on my bucket list.
It's SOOO cool to see what goes into making Maiden sound so good live. Pooch definitely takes a scientific mind to the art that happens on stage, and it shows in the final product - it's perfect!
Thank you for all your great work Pooch. I was able to catch a show last year in Anaheim California in September. Besides the band's fantastic performance, the show production was perfect in every way.

Was there as well. The Pond isn’t a great place for a concert as it’s very echoey…designed to be loud for a hockey game. Maiden sounded fantastic nevertheless. Thank you, Pooch.
I was at that show also, best sounding show i've ever heard inside of the Honda Center.
This was fascinating! As a IT professional, I was surprised to see how much was in the digital domain but as a sound aficionado, I was not surprised so see some analog gear in the mix. Great insight Pooch!
The sound on the last two tours has been nothing short of astonishing. What a legend
Before i even watch this, Pooch has done an incredible job giving the band a new live sound. The volume boosts for certain key parts and the clarity of solo's is better than ever since he joined. My favourite part though? when he smashes the volume up for the ending of Doctor Doctor! makes all the difference in excitement. Never got that in tours gone by recently.
I have seen Maiden live more than 15 times, and the band sounds better live now than ever. When Pooch joined I heard the difference right away between Book of Souls and Legacy of the Beast. Make sure you pay him well.
This man is worth his weight in gold! Big jump in sound quality from 2018.

The technical/production side of an Iron Maiden show has never been better, imo. (I’ve seen them live many times, starting with the original SiT tour.) Glad Rod S and the band takes the time and expense to make this tour even better. We notice! 🤘

Pooch is an A level engineer. Maiden is lucky to have him. And Pooch is lucky to have Maiden!
I saw the Book of Souls tour in 2017 which was my first Maiden concert and was utterly dissapointed by the sound (probably because it was a festival). Fastforward 3 years I saw the Legacy of the Beast show and I was BLOWN AWAY by the sound quality. This guy deserves all the credit in the worls specially because he has worked with so many pop/hiphop bands back in the day but has stuck with Maiden for the past 5 years because he is a fan
same, went to see them 2016 for the book of souls tour and the sound was crap, openers were 2x louder than maiden and the clarity of the sound was bad

The day before yesterday in Munich it sounded amazing. One of the best sounding concerts I have visited (probably the best sounding concert in total). Thank you so much Pooch for the hard work and for virtually showing us around on your rig.
Saw them in Glasgow recently. At the time, I thought they sounded fantastic. Possibly best I've seen them since the 80's.

Saw the show in Dublin and was blown away by the sound when the Somewhere in Time intro came on. It was loud as fuck but my ears didn't hurt at all. The rest of the show sounded fantastic.

I've watched and worked Maiden concerts since they started. They always sound great. Great band makes an audio engineer's job easy.
I was sat in the gods at the Leeds gig and my expectations for sound quality were not high. I was completely blown away both by the mix and the overall sound. Congratulations on a job very well done.
Reaper! Hell yeah. That's cool to hear Reaper being integrated into the rig. Best DAW out there. Wild how we now have full recording studios including time alignment and active room eq on tour! Up the IRONS!
I've been in some Iron Maiden live shows and the sound is always great. It's beautiful to know what happens offstage to make that possible. You do a really nice work and it's awesome to see how detailed is your attention to make this band sound perfect. Great video, guys!

I have seen IM 3 times in 3 different venues since Pooch took over FOH. In all occations, the live sound of the band (especially on the drums) was incredible, mind blowing!
Fantastic insight! No question that Maiden are sounding as good as ever on this tour. If anything, even better! Greatest band in the world supported by the finest crew!! Oh I do hope that 11:00 was an ITK hint at a live album from this tour coming at some point!! Up The Irons!!

I have been seeing Maiden since the X Factour and I don't think I've ever heard Maiden sound as good on stage 😳
I can understand the people who want to hear their rock heros through a analog signal chain and not through a computer that only simulates what‘s happening on stage.

Maiden have always sounded great live, but this was some of the clearest sounds ive ever heard at a gig, by any band.
Great and humble guy, doing it's best so we can all enjoy a perfect show. The sound on this tour is just absolutely mindblowing great. For me 2016 tbos was the first Maiden gig ever, I was attending a show in Wroclaw and I couldn't hear selective sound. What's more I've lacked earplugs and I got partially deaf for nearly 3 days after the show. After this year's concert in cracow the experience was tremendously better even from 2018 legacy gig which was also a giant leap from 2016 show. Pooch You're a hero making the band sound incredibely awesome!
Yes, big improvements.. There were many bands that were sounding much better than Maiden until recently.partly because they stuck to the old 80s PA for many years (well into the 90s)and also their old sound guys maybe was more “a part of the family” than great sound guys..?
Very interesting. Being an iconic band, with all the technology, you still want a bit of analog sweetness. Pretty cool.
If I remember correctly, it's a recording from Arena Kraków. I was there on June 13, 2023 and I had an amazing feeling of the sound. great job. Thank you.

Great to see the evolution compared to the old days. Have seen maiden many times since 1990 and they have certainly not been the best sounding band historically, but now something seems to have happened and this guy clearly knows what he is talking about.

In a concert in Ecuador. I ran into him after the show. He was so kind and paid attention to me and my friends. He didn't have to but he ended sharing a few words.
So your the reason we don't have to yell to the top of our lungs to hear each other after a concert nowadays. God bless the 1970's ! 😂 I hope they and you come to St Louis Missouri and some day in the near future. I love Maiden! I love them live too!

That's actually very common with top pro level live acts, in particular the largest ones. Even before digitalization, effects would be brought in and out or manipulated by the guitar tech (for example) during the concert. Frees the guitarist from worrying about where they are on the stage
@@ImpostorModanica yeah but one thing is having a guitar tech controlling the pedals from the wings (like I believe Janick does). What I did not know was that your engineer from would also have an input on that.
I was thinking that too, especially because some of them use AxeFx, which include seamless switching between scenes.
I found the Creamliner usage fascinating. Loved being able to understand it all because he designed his world so well.

Really interesting video, hope you got Nicko’s drum sound sorted after Birmingham because that night I couldn’t here any of his cymbals including the ride and hi hats, could only hear the hi hats on the count ins.
