I felt that a little too much
Reminds me of the Wii Classic controller
Luckily that had grips you could buy for it
The Wii Classic Pro was such a good controller, very comfortable. Thumbsticks could've been much better though. The D-Pad was almost perfect, but it squeaked uncomfortably on hard rocks.
Lol I thought Super Nintendo. Like he did.
@@TheAbsol7448 the Wii U Pro controller was just a classic controller that was slightly better put into an Xbox 360 controller shell I wish they would have put it into a switch Pro controller shell because the Switch Pro Controller shell is basically an improved Classic Controller Pro shell.
@@bland9876 I guess, but I like the Classic Pro shell a bit more. And I wasn't talking about the Wii U Pro.
Split-screen controllers are getting better but split-screen games are becoming rarer and rarer
Honestly I miss them the only games I have that are split screen is pvz garden warfare 2
I want to get rocket league if you can can you suggest any split screen games I can play with my younger sister? I really want to play with her but she isn’t that good at shooters

You're a BAD influence Kevin Kenson: You made me buy the Hori Mini Pad and now you're making buy the Wireless one. I loved the blue one, even beat Resident Evil revelations with it.
George Bautz yours too
Black Johnny mine three
Stop being rude to willymaze that probably happened to some people too
He also made me buy the wireless one :(
George Bautz actually no he didn’t, he hasn’t claimed anything as his, all he did was create a playlist for public to see so so what? It helps people find things quicker in one playlist, you don’t even deserve two subs as you haven’t done jack shit to earn them. Sorry for the harsh reply.

MY SMALL HANDS ARE SCREAMING YES. I was just complaining the other day how I love the mini hori pad but I wish it was wireless
I prefer these to the dualshock models. Old school shape, and a modern layout: perfection.
I just realized mine is 2 yrs old, I burn through the Sony controllers in about 6 months.
Man this reminds me of the neon red and neon blue Joy cons
Of course they release this a few days after I bought a hori pad mini for my brother
It's an import
Awww nice 👍
U are a nice brother
@@chipsmann8286 It was he birthday, and he is 6 and has a hard tie holding the Dualshock 4, so why not?
What an awesome brother!
The lack of thighs on the controller turns me off
Lemon scotthewoz
It's not always about the thighs, it's about dem booty
Edit: boobs are the replacement of booty. i find ass bootyful
I made thighs out of wood for my old snes controller. Was quite worth it makes playing megaman x easier
I understand. I love me some thicc thighs as well.
We're talking about the same thing, right?
Why isnt this the top comment😭😂😂
The Hori mini is great for my 6 year old son, it’s perfect size for his small hands. The only issue we have with it is the wire gets all tangled! I can’t believe it, this works out perfect! Thank you for the video. Liked and subbed
Hi Kevin, my controller is having issues. It will connect for a few seconds, but then freeze up. Any ideas why?
Thank you for making this video. I already have the original blue wired controller for my son, but was looking for a wireless version for him. This was so informative and you pointed out a lot of pros regarding the updated features for the wireless version, which truly makes it worthwhile to purchase. Thank you so much!
Hey it may be 8 months after you left this comment but if you see this I was hoping if you could tell em about your experience with this controller. I’m looking to buy one for my younger sister cus she’s 8 and her hands are very small so she has a hard time gripping the ds4 so is this a good controller and if so is there any problems that y’all have with it
@@ilhandaanish2381 Hey! Sorry, I just saw this reply to my comment today. It’s been an awesome controller for my son and he had the same issues due to his hands still growing into comfortably gripping the DualShock 4 controllers during gameplay. This controller worked out perfectly for him and made it comfortable for him to play. The only issue I have is that it sadly is not recognized by the PS5. So, any backwards compatible PS4 games he used to be able to enjoy, he’ll have to play on an actual PS4 instead. The DualSense controller is a little beefier in size than the DualShock 4, so he’ll just have to get used to the new size to play PS5 games unless an alternative one comes out for smaller hands, or kids.
@@djprofessx Hi sorry I am late, but I have good news for you. You can play the HORI Mini Wired Gamepad on the PS5 and you can also play your DualShock 4 as well, for this to work you need a special data USB that allows you to connect your PS4 controllers to your PS5 however you can only play PS4 games on your PS5 with your PS4 controllers so don’t expect to play games like Astro’s Playroom with the wired gamepad.
I have the wired one, love it.
That i might consider if its around 20$. DS4 on sale is literally on 3$ more than this...
GreGgaeRasta Fari it’s not necessarily just used as a “cheap controller”
I also have the mini one and I use it primarily for fighting games, because the dpad is 100 times better than the DS4 dpad. Also use it for APEX, because using the R2 on the mini feels wayyyy better than the R2 on DS4
Hate it
@@ras_krystafari3333 You say that but when you own a switch and want a fucking regular controller it cost more than my damn game which was like $60 and controller is $70
@@blupuck the dpad is good? I'm about to use it for dragon ball. Thanks
i was looking for a wireless controller since i have PSX2 in a portable hard-drive and it can play it on my work PC and now with a little wireless controller!!! I SEE THIS AS AN ABSOLUTE WIN!
i can play me some PS2 during lunch and even on down time (if any)..
thats great news. have you tried it with steam?
@@GhostD0G8 now you are playing with fire
@@anuar.m.y have you tried it? you would think steam would recognize it as a ps4 controller.
The TP button activates the stick as a touch pad. Like when you need to swipe left, press the TP button then move the joystick left.
how's the battery on this? i ordered it yesterday... but i'm curious how it holds a charge. does the battery charge by micro usb? usb c? same chargetime as a regular ds4?
What's interesting is that if you 3d print a modern controller grip you can basically make a hole and fit the entire horo mini gamepad wireless controller in it!
"you need to hit a lot of buttons quickly" ok, i believe you

The wireless option is showing 60 on Amazon, so not too much cheaper than a DualShock 4. I’d probably pay the extra 5 bucks just to get the nice pr controller. It’s not that much cheaper though
I had this controller and after a while it would start disconnecting even if it's plugged in
I own the wired one... my dualshock 4 sits in the corner since ive bought it... and yeah i just won my first warzone solo game ising this controller.... so much more easy to hold and the sticks never become loose.. ive owned it for like a year now still feels new
Is it 2.4g wireless or bluetooth? The lag is the most important thing and wasn't mentioned on the video
These would be perfect for the new mortal kombat 11 coming out, for your second player fighter. Very old school fight pad type controller
You sir, are the master of B roll! Great video and next level production quality as always.
Amazing review my sis wanted to play Games for the first and she enjoyed it But her hands were to small for the dualshock 4 So i got her the wireless Hori Mini controller from play asia and she loved it
Just got my Hori wireless thru a special store imports stuff directly from Japan. Unfortunitely after one hour play, the next day the controller is no longer functioning
i tought it was a touchpad simulating button, not turbo button
Is it just me that prefers wired controllers and not having to worry about batteries?
PS4 does not used batteries that is Xbox
Imagine playing an FPS with one of those 🤣🤣
fortniteeee
Honestly, that would be a good idea.
@Who cares 123 duh, its a TPS you just now figuring that out?
They have it here in Okinawa. It’s nice buying things out here due to the exchange rate; makes for cheaper purchases. Although, that’s not always the case.
I lost it when I read "dove may cry" in the subtitles
It works perfect for my 2 lil boys. They love it n they also use it on there PS3.
I would prefer a click over the way l2 and r2 already work. Faster actuation is important. Also turbo?
"the lack of triggers is a bummer" honestly the only games that really need or require analog triggers are racing games if anything analog triggers are bad for fps because of the travel time I hate seeing people complain about analog triggers when not a lot of games even use them
So everyone talks about the controller and I’m sitting here like “why is no one noticed his eyes there so beautiful”
I need a second controller for my ps4 to play with friends and I can get this for 18€ should I get it (even if it’s a bit for fps ?)
For racing games it's a no go..
Because you can't slightly brake or throttle with an on/off trigger.
Damn that clear red color, really throw me back when playing tekken 3 on ps x
If you're looking to buy it and you own RDR2 there's one more thing to point out you won't be able to use the Dueling function in the game because it requires a bumper.
Lol that controller looks uncomfortable. I’ll stick to my DualShock.
Prison Mike lol
Walmart sells dualshocks for only 11 bucks more than what this costs lol
@@dennylafoss WTF THAT FUCKING CHEAP FOR A DUALSHOCK 4????

So I can use it to play Genshin Impact~
Also PS5 supported?
Does it work on ps5? Please answer me Kevin
Does it work with mobile devices?
Thanks alot for this video! Really needed this to see if this controller is worth it or not :)
Ok. Kevin looks exactly like my pastor 20 years ago. He even sounds like him. It's scary. Lol.
Wow that's amazing controller with actual shoulder buttons instead of triggers.
It's not a turbo button it's a touchpad button
Kevin kenson is just a shopping channel, and i love it for some reason
I'm wondering what the battery life of this is like compared to a dualshock 4
I wonder what the battery life is like on this controller...
Thank you so much for this!! Hopefully this will work with Remote Play. It's clunky to be pocteting an entire duelshock around, and if it falls out.. Game over.
I'd literally pay someone $400 to significantly decrease the thumbstick tension on this controller because i love this controller but hate how strong the thumbstick tension is on it. I'm very serious so if someone is willing to take my $400 offer then respond to this msg. Especially if you live in kansas city
Could be a good travel controller. Ty for the fine.
Looks good for a remote play experience on a mobile phone
Looks really cool, really nice alternative for a backup, but when I went to the link to check it out the controller price said $78.63, idk if it's a mistake from Amazon but it contradicted what you were saying here.
Btw I really like your videos man, keep up the awesome work.
Wolf Knight HOLY CRAP! It doesn’t even look that comfortable
@@hunnahunnahunnasyou saw the price too right?
Ps4 controller, Loli edition.
I wish the endings weren't so abrupt but then if they weren't I'd feel like something was missing.
Does the lack get better when u use a Kabel?
L1 and R1 did not give me confidence. Are they accurate and comfortable for fighting games? The wired hori appears to have more solid L1 and R1. Maybe it's just an impression, but I'd like your opinion.
PS: Sorry for anything, I'm Brazilian and I'm using google translator.
The back Buttons are like bricks i deffintly prefer the ones that are on the ps4 controller its much more smooth to push down.
kevin, you've got a great channel and you really help me with which accessories to buy for my game consoles! Thanks for being awesome!
It's red it's clear it's wireless
I LOVE IT I NEED ONE IN MY LIFE
It looks adorable and looks like a back up controller and I wish I didn’t buy that DualShock 4 pro controller
But I will have 3 controllers then which is good
is there any PS3 alternative controllers that you could recommend?
alot of hori controllers kevin has shown us...
BlazeTheDrago you’re like the Justin Y but only for this channel
Hori is probably paying him, youtube tech videos are basically modern day commercials these days... it’s why you rarely see critical reviews from any of these guys
@@dennylafoss If Hori was paying him he'd have to state it in the video by law. This is an unbiased and fair review of a good product cheaply priced. He mentions both the pros and cons of the controller, and the video isn't dominated by one or the other.
@@Oliver-wv4bd lol he doesn't mention he's getting paid if you buy anything from the links in the description either. But instead of giving you the link where he got the controller for 37 bucks, he gives you a link to Amazon where it's 70. Wanna explain that? Let's face it, the UA-cam tech community is a bunch of bullshitters, there are very few honest tech promoters and reviews
@@dennylafoss Yeah I know what you mean, but tbh tonnes of people know that he gets money from that link anyway. I would definitely love to see a review of this controller from a smaller UA-camr, but right now this is all we have, so as a rule of thumb we should take his vids with a grain of salt.
looks like bigger joy cons
Imagine playing solos with that piece of controller.
How about using claw on this controller feel, does it impact your aim a lot?
Easy travel size, if you want to remote play from your laptop.
It doesn’t seem to have a light bar which is a requirement for psvr & the camera
Right now I have a mixed feelings about this controller. At one side is quite appealing to buy video review at second are comments about how wonderful this product suits.... kids. My problem is that I am looking for good, relatively cheap, solution for replacing great ( but overpriced) original playstation controller. But! I'm no kid. Hands aren't small and only my doubt is if I will have any kind of discomfort with this cute replacement? Video review implies positive reaction but comments are more like fixed lot of directed towards exclusive audience of users. I'm honestly confused.
it feel cramp after 1 hour of using
it's for children afterall
@@kittikorn6674 here we go... Good idea for children use only. Looks like I have no other option, but back to original pricey option...
@@77refined it's a good reminder to take a break so I don't mind

Does the wireless one have less thumbstick tension? The wired one has too much tension so i hope the wireless one doesn't.
I want that controller so fucking bad
Now we need 2player games...
You can get a dualshock 4 for $40 on black friday or find a sale thoughout the year seems pointless to buy this for $36.
Only reason why I like wired cause u don’t have to charge that what’s working on my nerves when I’m in black ops

Didn't know about these controllers, they look nice, i'll have to buy one now
is the dpad good for fighting games
Is it possible to pair it with an 8bitdo wireless adapter? I’d probably buy one if it can
it should work. i ordered this controller and will be trying this too... but if it's licensed with sony like they advertised... it shuld have same functionality as the regular DS4... i actually want this for when i travel. with my laptop/tablet i want a portable easy to carry controller that's full featured... this is perfect.
Does it have a headphone jack?
Can you use headphones with this controller?
Taizai 05 no there is no headphone jack
I bought the blue wired version last year and it was BAD. At least Hori is righting their wrongs with this wired version. Sidenote: Hori's Fighting Commander controller is AMAZING for fighting games or any 2D games that don't require analog sticks.
Was looking to buy one, but they ran out of stock 😭😭😭
I almost would have though the buttons replacing the triggers would be good for FPS games, kind of replicating hair triggers
Does this still work for PC? I wanted to use this for my laptop when I'm on the go.
It shows up as a PS4 controller in Steam, but almost none of the buttons actually work. It doesn’t show up in DS4 windows either, so sad cuz i bought this to use with PC :(
they do not sell the wireless ones anymore :/
