The racers who compete in the Stockholm Open in Sweden are some of the craziest people out there. The guys at Donkey Tec had to one up them by not only racing on the Sweden Streets, but traveling all the way from Germany to do so! Though the team was knocked out of the Stockholm Open fairly quickly, they got in some crazy test hits and a few grudge races that you will see in this video! It was awesome to see these guys travel to Sweden simply to do what they love with their 1000+ awhp Volkswagen! What do you guys think of this monster?!

They did a good job making that R32 slower by taking out the RB 🙄
It's a GTS-t with the RB20, they do 15s stock and can't handle big power like other RB's. 👍
@@MafiaboysWorld it is in fact a GTR and it used to have an RB30 making almost 1000whp, then he took it out to put this BMW v8 in. Check out our video on the Valhalla cup to see the full interview with this car and driver

And the BMW V8 turbo build was more of a 'why not do it, because V8 turbo is cool' type of build.
And yes, it had an RB30 with 954awhp before, so it has seen its days of streetracing also. At the time of the video the car was mostly used for having a laugh and making burnouts :)

Donkey Tec is Badass!! To show up in Sweden from Germany to kick some butt in a Mk2 Golf is the stuff of legends. Pretty sure I know who that driver was from the 1320 Germany videos.

No matter what they say VR engine are will always be around and competitive. They are fast once they are tune right!!!! Vr is a legend in VW world. Same as 2jz and RB's in JDM. Thank you for sharing this real st racing bro!!

Check out the 0-400 s3 from Greece, vr6 swapped awd 1600+ hp, 1330+ whp with gtr transmission
Only issue is finding a transmission to hold the power without getting to expensive
@@ligmasurvivor997 you're right..but you can mount it longitudinally via custom/refabed subframe and then you get to have many options on your transmission..this r32 skyline could be a very possible donor!All transversely mount awd layouts suffer from big power figures due to the obligatory use of a transfer case and from there all sorts problems begin..especially in hard launches with all the load and inertia it has to cope through!I believe this kind of layout is inferior by design for such applications.It may be more cost effective and time efficient for the car manufacturers, but for big power/drag racing it's a no no

@@brandonruhl4525 Well let's take a vote.. top fuel rwd check funny car rwd.. check watching a 2000 hp gtr hike the front tires for 30+ feet and basically torque steering all over the lane and going slower then a car with the same power and rwd.. you check it I'm not. most of the 7.20 ish gtr's would run 6's if you got rid of the front wheel drive portion. Simple physics is why. Less drag and friction and a lot less weight taking off the fwd parts and not changing anything else is worth 2-3th by itself not counting the weight.
Don't get scared get AWD and get glad!
@@Scootermagoo I vote for what you just said. There is something about awd cars on the street , not the track. On a totally unprepared surface awd cars have that do it anywhere utility that you cant get in a rwd car. Your right however rwd set up properly is almost always faster

VR6 Rock solid heavy beast , weight is the only real drawback of these engines.
Brendon Morris I’ve had both a VR6 and a ABF 16v and there is about 45kg or approx 100lbs difference . They were both track cars , not drag cars. But I get what your saying. Also this particular car is AWD not FWD.
It's a very interesting motor, not as easy to tune as a 1.8 20vt but if it's built right, we're talking about insane hp/torque figures with very functional powerband. Sounds great also!! I believe the biggest problem is crankshaft related due to the narrow v-angle (merely 15 degrees)
@Brendon Morris I've built some on my own, happy you didn't brake one.. But that's about a thousand hp far from each other.. Also making 1600 on the dyno and putting 1600 down on drag tracks season after season is two different things.. Especially if you want it to Rev higher than it's supposed to.. A lot of guys who race them with extreme setups will have similar stories to tell you. I don't need reading forums, I'm way way older than most of them, have a nice day yourself too.
@Brendon Morris also it's narrow v angle (out of necessity for compactness) it doesn't actually scream reliability when pushed way over the extremes and revved to hell and back time after time. A well informed (studies along practical expertise) mechanic or even machinist could hardly disagree
Seems you're good I don't defy that, It'd be a mistake to but you should know better and you could know better since you're so passionate about it (and I think that's a very important attribute for someone aspiring to be as good as one could be.. That's why don't take it the wrong way with your attitude and all - if you care-) not to take anything away from you but you're being absolute on something a lot of people that build engines for a living and also for life, have witnessed again and again (35+ years for me).. About 80kgs of torque is all that crank can take for in a long time span, also about revving 8600 is fairly high, but after 9.5 things get easily ugly) Please take this in a good manner by someone who loves what he's doing as much as you do. Not being ironic here, nor would i ever.. After all we love doing the same thing!
