Now that Impala SS is a true sleeper. Sounds like it has an LS under the hood. Please share some details about his gorgeous Chevy.

I'll try to make a walk around video of the build at some point, but it's a pretty simple setup. Would make a great daily driver, drives like it's stock till you hit the pedal and I drove it about 2.5hrs to the track through NYC traffic to make this pass then drove it home. Just an LSX B15 376 untouched from GM with a ported LSA blower, 2.45/9.06 pulley on E85 backed by a 4l80e/3.73's. Full weight, stereo with 12" sub, AC, back seats etc... It still has more in it. -1-2 shift way too soon @5600rpm and 2-3 at 6450 ( it makes power to 7k but had the 1-2 shift point low for local no prep runway racing since wheel speed got too high from spinning), 90MM TB choking it out, no ice in the ice tank, the Toyos broke loose a little after the 60 foot and i'm launching it pretty gently because of the street tires.

The 94 to 96 Impala SS cars are never a sleeper even with the factory LT1 engine they are still powerful muscle cars 💯😉👍.

@@neal6473 That's very true, but they sure didn't run from the factory like this one does. 👍

this one was in my yard stripped down to an empty shell on cinder blocks for 10 years haha. it was my first car, bought it in 2003. If I had the space/money I'd definitely buy more and built them up all differently. They are awesome cars and have a really unique feeling you don't get from newer cars or smaller cars.

@nocturnalcustoms376 I had a 92 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon for a couple of years that I should not have sold to modify my Audis at the time. I had the TBI 350 180hp and 300 torque,Flowmasters and regular maintenance. Smoother and more comfortable/cool than it had any right to be!

Thank you ! can't take credit for this video, my friend Bill who owns one of the nicest SS's i've ever seen took this for me while I was there bracket racing with the East Coast Impala Racing Club. Been trying to get better with my video taking/equipment but i'm usually too busy in the garage or racing to edit stuff. Get out there and race! Guys who don't get hooked the first time running down a drag track I think need a psychological evaluation haha

My dad and I used to own a 96 same color original owners. We took many 1st place trophies best in show etc etc. I think we went to this track once with the club we were in, which was SAIL, San Antonio Impala Lovers.
Your car is awesome, sounds great! Sits perfect on takeoff, what did you do engine wise?
We only ever did bolt ons, and exhaust. Dad focused more on the flashy stuff. I wanted it to scream. We built that car together, as my childhood, then he sold it. Then it got stolen the very next day. Such great memories, down the drain.

Thank you! These are such fun cars to drive, even more fun when you start making power with them with a stroker, LS swap etc... I'm surprised at how well it's hooking up with those Toyos that i'd barely consider a drag radial, really just summer tires. I boxed the chassis, built a few suspension components myself but the car is mainly set up for pro touring/handling and I made no adjustments to shocks or anything before racing. I can't punch it off the line, just rolling in kind of gently off idle but it's doing well.
engine setup is just a "stock" GMPP LSX B15 376 crate engine with a factory GM LS7 cam (sounds like a stock idle), ported LSA blower 2.45/9.06 pulley on E85 backed by a 4l80e and 3.73's. I built it to do long road trips with comfortably and it does that well. I think I can get low 10's out of it on a better tire and probably 9's with a cam swap but I love the sleeper idle.

just a really mild LSA supercharged 6.2 LS. Nothing crazy, it would be a great daily driver. full weight with AC, stereo and 12" sub, back seats and everything.

    Type of rear end work?

    • @nocturnalcustoms376

@@ericperry4934 80e built by Accurate Transmission Inc in CT. Been holding up like a champ, hundreds of passes and thousands of street miles and even a little road course time lol
I built the rear, factory 8.5 10 bolt with an Eaton 400lb posi, moser axles, arp studs for the carrier caps , solid pinion spacer, 3.73’s and a moser stud girdle diff cover.
Since I usually run it on my street tires the car doesn’t 60 foot what it could/should , I’m not hitting the tire hard off the line, I get into it kinda gently so it doesn’t spin which is why I’m only getting 1.6ish 60 foots but that also makes it easier on the rear. I think the car could probably go 10.4ish if I can get the 60 foot down on a good tire and really get it off the line hard.

345/45/17 on a 12” stretched stock wheel on the rear and 255/50/17 up front . I notched the rear rails and did a little work to the wheel wells to make the 345’s fit.

Look closely . island flashes the et very quickly so you’re probably seeing the 131.16 which is the mph. If you watch it carefully you’ll see it flash 10.67 which was the ET, but I mean you can also time it with a stop watch if you’d like haha should be obvious if you’ve been around drag racing for a while, you can tell a 13 second car from a 10 second car even when it’s no time.
