- This 1989 Volkswagen can go 200mph?! In the middle of 1320Video’s tour of Germany, we found ourselves at the reason we crossed the pond - The RACE1000 1/2 Mile at Airport Magdeburg Cochstedt, aka Germany’s premier 1/2 mile event! We heard this is where European cars come to raise the bar and we were not at all let down! Starting with this 1300hp Volkswagen GTI, powered by a massive Turbo fused to a built 24v VR6 from a VW R32 (they even swapped 4motion drivetrain into it!). Denny Wimmer and his CRAZY mkii GTI really opened our eyes to the European car scene, giving us a taste of what else the RACE1000 had to offer. Make sure you check out the in cab footage and watch Denny casually peddle out of his 1300hp getting sideways while he furiously slams gears through a sequential gearbox!

MK2 my first love : D man this car.. it is all about 900kg gti_fun_toy! with upgraded coil-overs, vr6 engines, manual shifting and no power steering that feeling of pure connection with the road. without advanced technology that trying to do all the tasks instead of a driver.. priceless

you wont see this much in germany. the rules regarding aftermarket parts are SUPER strict. you arent even allowed to drive BC racing coilovers cause they arent Tüv certified
What do you need BC for if you can choose from Bilstein, KW, Weitec, H&R etc...?
ラウドネス you will see it a lot in germany when you look at right places. Nobody gives a fuck at TÜV, except those who build their cars to have them stand still and only look good at a meet. Those are the guys who cry over the Police. These guys have to drive trough the citys to impress teenage boys and girls.

Also I wonder how a Golf with little/no aero mods feels at 200mph...surely not the most stable thing given the basic car was designed for about 130mph! Very brave/crazy to take it up to those speeds!

Electronic measurements for speed measurements go to 4 decimals at most for land speed records and the rest is removed, usually it's 2 decimals, look at any 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or full mile run.
But to answer your question (had to use my calculator app 😂) it is 9995/10000 or 99949/100000 as the answer was 0.99949xxxx. 👍

It runs a smaller turbo on the streets and drag racing. At least they used too and it made about the same HP but its tougher on the drive train etc.
