Is This Tire Accessory CAUSING Flat Tires?!?! - LTV Unity CB

I am definitely not a tire expert but I have learned some things over the last 8 years owning our 2016 LTV Unity Corner Bed RV. Unfortunately, we had to learn the hard way that valve extenders, while convenient, ended up causing us more problems. TPMS are a great safety device, but for now I have decided to keep things simple and use short steel stems along with regular manual tire pressure measurement to monitor our tire pressure.

I didn’t know there was such a thing as extenders. Luckily I can get my hands in there between my tires.

I totally agree.
My wife recently purchased a 2018 Winnebago ViaT, it came with 4 Acola wheels and 4 tpms fittings.
I’m planning on removing them and doing the as you, carefully monitor the tires as we travel. It might be a little more work, but a human visual and pressure test is more accurate.

I love the idea of TPMS but after what we experienced, just worried about having more issues. For how we travel, regular manual checks seems to work well.

Do you use TPMS? Do you have extenders? This is a potential weakness to be aware of for tire safety.

I obsess over RV tires. One blowout on I-95 late summer, near Daytona Beach. 2 hr. eta wait for roadside assistance. Ended up changing it myself with heavy traffic whipping by me. Never again.

Oh no, what a nightmare. I don’t have a spare tire on my Unity, so unfortunately I’d be stuck waiting for help. So, obsessing about it probably not a bad idea except sometimes things are beyond our control.

LTV is on my wishlist. You’re right I’ve never seen a spare for LTV’s.

I have seen some on the LTV Facebook group that have placed spares attached to the hitch, it’s an option if you need the spare but obviously takes away from using the hitch for bike rack etc.
