The one thing about you personally that I absolutely love, is your common sense and lack of shaking your fist in the air out of anger and frustration when something happens to your RV. Like you stated, 'stuff' happens - don't get upset because that only adds additional stress to an already crummy situation. It's always a pleasure to stop in and hang out with you and the beautiful Bella girl, you both inspire me to continue to remain calm when under the gun - and just take it in stride, rectify the problem - and back on down the never ending stretch of road! Great job Dave! Now I know who's RV to follow when I get out on the road in my yet undetermined RV, and that would be you Mr fix-it LOL. I hope you and Bella have an uneventful trip to Moab for a new(er) spare tire. Rock on my UA-cam friend, and may your journey be filled with happiness and peace of mind. I hope to meet up with you someday on the road so I can shake your hand, and give Bella a big ol' kiss. Peace...

Having the right tools really makes a difference and you certainly were prepared!
If you guys can't carry a spare tire with an actual wheel, at least carry a loose tire and the Roadside Assistance technicians can mount it on the flat wheel as long as the wheel rim doesn't get damaged.
    Great work!

If you guys need help out here give us a call. We'll go off road to assist you!

Well I finally got it done. I opened the spare wheel storage and took it out. I then opened the jack and chocking storage and got all that stuff out as well. Opened the lug wrench and accessories storage and got my trusty wrench and all was looking good. THEN I opened the little helper storage to bring him out and WTF! Empty! The lil bast**d escaped somehow and I had to change the wheel myself. Last Jayco RV I buy not having ALL required tools in place, I got my hands dirty! 🤪

My cousin carries some heavy boards that he puts under the levelers on his Class A that allows him to raise it high enough to lift the wheels off the ground, but then he uses a jack stand to keep it up there instead of relying on the levelers to take that load. I'll save you a ton of time and energy. When your outer duly is blown the way yours was, instead of jacking the unit up, drive the unit so the inner tire is up on blocks lifting the outer tire off the ground. No need to jack it up!!! Of course this ONLY works when it's the outer tire that has gone flat!

8R-19.5 I find them on Ebay, free shipping. 245/70-19.5 require a sizable investment in rims. I have taken one tire from the rear and put it on the front when I didn't have a spare. That stretch of time I had three flats in a weeks time. 8R-19.5 is tough cookie to find. Tire shop in Moriarty, NM has them. Samson make,$180 installed.Nowadays RV's use the 245/70-19.5

I have always been a do it myself gal. In my 20's I could dead lift the same weight or more as many men I knew... However, having 2 children in my 30's did a number on my body. At 53 I now have lost a lot of muscle and psoriatic arthritis has taken my joints from me. I wouldn't be able to do what you just did. If I could manage to get it done, it would be an all day job with lots of cursing and probably crying. Then I would have to park my rig somewhere quiet and be in bed for several days... My physical limitations sure piss me off and make me wonder, when I retire should I really be thinking about going full time? Using, much less WAITING on roadside assistance would drive me NUTS. Arrgh all the things to consider and honestly ponder before I make a decision.
This weekend I was camping and my elderly 16 year old dog passed away.... So I now know what it's like to be far from home, have to find and use a foreign veterinarian and go back to my rig minus one family memeber.... Damn sad and damn hard. I told myself it's good training for if I want to go full-time. My 2nd dog, a 10 year old Cattle Dog, was very sweet. She was with us and witnessed everything that happened with her Sister. We took a long walk last night and I cried a lot. Today we are better and have made it back home minus one. Thanks for the video Dave. Take care.

Is each wheel on the F53 the same wheel? Fronts and backs are same? You just turn one of the rear ones around with "concave" side out? (whereas the front wheel is convex side out, and the inner rear dually is concave side out like the front?

you must have a pretty good electric wrench. don't look like it had to hammer very long to loosen the wheel nuts!!

Dude I enjoy your channel but too many ads for a thirteen minute video. Good job on changing the tire. I agree with you; every RV should have a spare. You just never know where you're going to be and what is available in the area. And besides, if you've the right tools to do the job you don't even have to wait for roadside assistance if you've a spare on hand. Safe travels. (Again, ease up on the insert ad button.) LOL

That extra ad will help to pay for 1/100th of the new tire I need! lol Sorry, but ads are needed and sometimes an extra one! :)

@@DavesRVLife - I don't mind ads (I just click on "skip ad" when possible anyway) but this video just seemed to have MANY MORE than is usually included in a 13 minutes video.

Wow Dave!! What was the temperature there when you had to do that? Bet the heat made the job even more miserable. You are a great mechanic though and handled it well. Wonder what you hit. I would trace my tracks back and see if I could find it. Happy trails Dave and be safe.
