I remember watching this episode with my dad when it first came out , and he was like “I think that’s madara in that coffin” and in my head I was like “stfu dad, how can that be madara when he’s standing right there” imagine my surprise when we found out he was right towards the end of the series😂
This bit was clear to me that it was madara coming back to this episode. Nobody knows that Madara is actually still dead after Tobi convinced everyone he was Madara.
Honestly, I thought Tobi was really Madara and that coffin was Uchiha Shisui or some random character we've never ever seen before and another one of Kishi's ass-pulling when it first came out.

@Nick The writers were pretty savvy with keeping detail hidden until that moment in time. It wouldn't have been impossible for Kabuto to gain (part of) the remains of Hashirama/Tobirama since his mentor (Orochimaru) knew full well how to get those 2 back from the dead.
My favourite part about this is that Obito got Kabuto to agree to a one sided deal. Kabuto uses his Edo tensai to capture the rest of the Biju and then Kabuto would get Sasuke. However, Obito leaves out one important detail. If Obito gets all the Biju’s he’ll summon the 10 Tails and then become its Jinchuriki and after a minute he’ll start the Infinite Tsukuomi. Once the Infinite Tsukuomi is cast then Kabuto will never actually get his hands on Sasuke outside of his dreams. Obito knows this, but Kabuto doesn’t. So he effectively tricked Kabuto here into believing that he was one step ahead of Obito, when in reality Obito was never going to give him Sasuke.
Kabuto was pretty formidable when he fought Sasuke (and Itachi). I wonder what would've happened had he taken both brothers out. Could he have overpowered Obito and Madara after the fight with the Uchiha bros?

When Madara comes out however, that's a different story. But later, Obito laughs, because he realizes that Madara is in a whole different league than Kabuto and that he wouldn't let Kabuto control him, which he later proved. I first thought Rin was in the coffin (I knew about some plot points before watching Naruto since I play a lot of Ninja Storm with my friend) with Kabuto revealing he knows it's Obito behind the mask. But this is even better. Kabuto doesn't know it's Obito because how could he? What he does know, is that Obito isn't Madara, who he claimed to be. And let's be fair, Madara is over a million times more useful than Rin lol.

The real reason is that it's not the real body of the deceased, only a recreation with its chakra signature. The real body still belongs to the vessel until the soul is freed or sealed. Then the vessel dies. So the chakra is real, therefore the jutsu and kekkei genkai are real. But the body is only made out of dirt. That's why Madara lost his eyes when he got reincarnated, because his real eyes where not in his body anymore (But that whole thing is a big plotthole anyway)

That instance is the only known example of truly resurrecting someone from a reanimated corpse, so there's no other metric to compare it to for it to not make any sense. And while it would make sense for a person brought back to also have their eyes restored, I would argue that not being able to restore Madara's eyes also makes sense. According to the anime at least, Son Goku - Four Tails - was surprised that Madara could summon the Gedo Statue because he was under the impression that Madara was still a reanimation (and therefore possessed "fake" Rinnegan eyes). So in the same vein, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that using Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth on a reanimated corpse would not be able to reanimate "fake" Rinnegan eyes - simply because it is too powerful to replicate.

I’ve been watching the dub since the beginning of the show, because it’s what I watched as a kid. I don’t know why people say it sucks, because every voice actor does a great job at making their character unique and fitting the role. But I definitely see why people watch sub now. They’re both great for their own reasons.
To be honest, I didn't think that he wasn't Madara, so it didn't occur to me that the guy in the coffin might be Madara. As regards Tobi's identity if he's not Madara, I figured we didn't have enough information on anyone to know who it was. I was hyped to see how OP Kabuto would become but it's a little surprising to realize that Black Zetsu was responsible for at least some of Kabuto's success, and that goes to explain why Itachi wrecked him so hard. He just hadn't matured enough yet.
If you think about how smart Obito it’s crazy because he knew that the infinite Tuskimoyime would put him under the genjustu so he wouldn’t have to hand over sasuke

Me and my brother was talking about the person behind the mask when he was introduced. I told my brother it was obito behind it because in the manga of shippudden, the scene started out with kakashi and how he got his one eye sharingan. Boom, almost a decade later it was obito.
What people fail to understand is that Óbito wasn’t scared cause he was “overpowered” but rather that if he didn’t join forces with Kabuto, his Madara persona would have been exposed before the war even started instead of during the end of the conflict.

This could be the logical explaination on why Nagato's corpse are fully remained in Amegakure when Obito arrive to steal his Rinnegan

Just the fact that Kabuto said don't worry I haven't told anyone about this, in retrospect, was a big clue, Obito was worried he'd be exposed as not actually Madara. Some people guessed he was Obito, early on, since it's only his right eye that's shown through the mask and Obito gave up his left eye.

The real reason is that it's not the real body of the deceased, only a recreation with its chakra signature. The real body still belongs to the vessel until the soul is freed or sealed. Then the vessel dies. So the chakra is real, therefore the jutsu and kekkei genkai are real. But the body is only made out of dirt. That's why Madara lost his eyes when he got reincarnated, because his real eyes where not in his body anymore (But that whole thing is a big plotthole anyway)
@@Inuwoodx I wouldn't call it a plot hole, because it isn't something that can't be rationalised. That instance is the only known example of truly resurrecting someone from a reanimated corpse, so there's no other metric to compare it to for it to not make any sense.
And while it would make sense for a person brought back to also have their eyes restored, I would argue that not being able to restore Madara's eyes also makes sense. According to the anime at least, Son Goku - Four Tails - was surprised that Madara could summon the Gedo Statue because he was under the impression that Madara was still a reanimation (and therefore possessed "fake" Rinnegan eyes). So in the same vein, it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that using Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth on a reanimated corpse would not be able to reanimate "fake" Rinnegan eyes - simply because it is too powerful to replicate.

If Kabuto can resurrect Nagato, it means he knew where his body was. And this was before Tobi went after Konan? It doesn't add up. Maybe Kabuto simply didn't tell him where the rinnegan

I’ve been watching the dub since the beginning of the show, because it’s what I watched as a kid. I don’t know why people say it sucks, because every voice actor does a great job at making their character unique and fitting the role. But I definitely see why people watch sub now. They’re both great for their own reasons.
There’s nothing wrong about watching dubs, but If Im being real with you, you’re missing out the good part of subs.

To be honest, I didn't think that he wasn't Madara, so it didn't occur to me that the guy in the coffin might be Madara. As regards Tobi's identity if he's not Madara, I figured we didn't have enough information on anyone to know who it was. I was hyped to see how OP Kabuto would become but it's a little surprising to realize that Black Zetsu was responsible for at least some of Kabuto's success, and that goes to explain why Itachi wrecked him so hard. He just hadn't matured enough yet.

Me and my brother was talking about the person behind the mask when he was introduced. I told my brother it was obito behind it because in the manga of shippudden, the scene started out with kakashi and how he got his one eye sharingan. Boom, almost a decade later it was obito.
What people fail to understand is that Óbito wasn’t scared cause he was “overpowered” but rather that if he didn’t join forces with Kabuto, his Madara persona would have been exposed before the war even started instead of during the end of the conflict.
