We never see him think about other people. On top of that we also got to see his backstory and it shows what kind of a ninja he was. When he has gone rogue he is confused and disgusted of how the shinobi system made him into a weapon like that. But tobi says to him that he would fix this and tells him about project tsuki no me. The reason i am saying all this is because it shows that despite him hating what he has done. Its still his true self cause he said that the shinobi world changed him into this. And he never doubted his duty even tho he felt it was wrong Many people take his last moments as a shinobi that saved his friends but why? Only because naruto a guy who doesnt even know him said that? So we are all gonna ignore his whole backstory and his whole philososfy just because of one sentence naruto said? I think the writers intentionally let naruto say that to show that when you die as a shinobi youre way of life wont be remembered. Jiraiya and kisame died similarly: Both died trying to get information out to their comrades While trying to fend off 6 attackers, and taking down at least one of them in a land of water. Both the frog and the shark die in the water. Even guy quoted jiraiya's words to Naruto after witnessing kisame's death: "A Shinobi's life is determined by the manner of his death."

And Pain himself, nagato who thought up of a solution. Although, unbeknownst to them the real reason they were made in the first place, but their hearts was in the right place. They wanted it to be better for the next generation. The rest of the members are just powerful rogues may be, but the pillars are the ones holding everything together until the final revelation. It's actually cool how each faction represents three rival ideologies. Pain with more pain to stop the pain. Madara to completely ignore pain and succumb to illusion. And naruto to bear all the pain and rise through it. Interesting story telling, although was too convuluted for its own good, I think the author's original story would have made naruto a masterpiece. Not this cool godlike beings being shoe horned into everything, but ninjas with a mission. The base was pretty cool with Neji's fate vs will thing. Too bad he didn't follow through.

the reason I think Kisame’s death is so sad, because not long after this, his voice actor, Tomoyuki Dan was also died due to heart failure and nobody pays attention to that
I like that the tiger Gai makes isn't chakra, but air pressure from the force of his blows, but I like to think that _some_ of his chakra is used to give it form, make it a shape to keep it contained and directed. Imagine Kisame's surprise if he had actually pulled the only chakra present from the attack, causing it to explode worse (which is the point of the chakra, to keep it directed and from destroying more than he intends, but that far away from Gai himself and any spectators/living spaces, and that close to Kisame, it doesn't matter)

Not all of them were thrash or evil, they were just hurt or misguided individuals brought together by a corrupt man pulling the strings from the shadows. -Nagato taught Naruto about Pain and to see beyond himself and his own losses. -Kisame taught Naruto that even the bad guys can put their comrades before themselves. -Itachi taught Naruto about the meaning of self-sacrifice and what it means to be acknowledged as Hokage.

Only reason he used it on Madara was because of the immediate danger he posed and Lee’s presence encouraging him to do it.

Itachi pre-emptively activating his mangekyo just in case Kisame tries something funny is the proof how dangerous Kisame is. He didn't do it with Orochimaru or Deidara. Kisame's looks might not be showing how strong and crafty he is but that also makes him a great ninja.

The existence of reverse summoning really does ruin the point of this scene. The only argument that I can think of is he didn’t have a reverse summoning set up, which in itself is a bad explanation.
If you've never read Naruto carefully, it's really possible that you think that way. The reverse summoning jutsu works when the summoner enters the animal through the mouth like Sasuke did with Manda or as it was used on Boruto, and when (after entering the animal) the animal carries the summoner inside itself. Kisame would be captured by Yamato according to Yamato himself in the manga if he didn't use the sharks to devour him because Kisame only used suirou no jutsu (a known technique being used out of water, used by the weakened Kisame). Kisame would need to keep his distance and summon a large shark the size of Manda for example, and enter it while taking attacks from opponents. That wouldn't work. This only worked on Manda because Sasuke put Manda in a genjutsu (Manda said this before he died).

@@kffk9805 Kisame opted to run away instead of fighting so Guy would have let him leave instead of forfeiting his life to fight him. 7th Gate was enough but even if it wasn’t they weren’t in immediate danger and Guy planned on going to the battlefield later anyways. Only reason he used it on Madara was because of the immediate danger he posed and Lee’s presence encouraging him to do it.

The existence of reverse summoning really does ruin the point of this scene. The only argument that I can think of is he didn’t have a reverse summoning set up, which in itself is a bad explanation.
If you've never read Naruto carefully, it's really possible that you think that way.
The reverse summoning jutsu works when the summoner enters the animal through the mouth like Sasuke did with Manda or as it was used on Boruto, and when (after entering the animal) the animal carries the summoner inside itself.
Kisame would be captured by Yamato according to Yamato himself in the manga if he didn't use the sharks to devour him because Kisame only used suirou no jutsu (a known technique being used out of water, used by the weakened Kisame).
Kisame would need to keep his distance and summon a large shark the size of Manda for example, and enter it while taking attacks from opponents. That wouldn't work.
This only worked on Manda because Sasuke put Manda in a genjutsu (Manda said this before he died).
