    I made this last night and it was AWESOME! I did some modifications: I fried my epis a little, then added the beans and topped with chicken stock, then coconut milk powder since I was trying to keep the liquid levels down. I also used an immersion blender since I wanted to keep the bean skins and solids in the mix. It's not quite "sos" at this point but it's AMAZINGLY good!

    Thank You! I am Haitian, American born. I am the youngest and never really "learned" how to cook Haitian food. I have the basic concepts but that was it. My current boyfriend is Haitian. He loves food and is always hungry and looking for a meal. I found your channel, hooray! I was able to prepare this recipe as well as white rice & pool nan sos. Everything I made was well seasoned and amazing! Thank you so much. Excited to try other recipes.

    • @LamiseO
      @LamiseO  7 років тому +13

      I actually had 18 cups of water for this dish. As I mentioned I added 8 cups plus 10 more as the water dried out during the cooking process. That pot definitely appear smaller on camera. I will never lie about how much I use :), but you can definitely use less if you wish.

    please stop promoting the use of Maggi cubes. It is not traditional haitan cooking. it is poisoning us. our food doesn't need those cubes. when our food is cooked right, our food never needs flavor boosters. MSG is poison. the rest of your recipe is good. the maggi kills it.
