  • The next phylum of Ecdysozoa that we will examine is Kinorhyncha, and it's another microscopic one. These creatures are called mud dragons, and they have a very interesting anatomy. They externally segmented and have a retractable head, or introvert, as well as other interesting features. Let's get a closer look!

It's truly extraordinary just how many ubiquitous organisms there are around the world that aren't well known outside of science communicators/educators & scientists within certain biological sub-disciplines...
*"Mud Dragons" (Kinorhyncha)* look like they had evolved way back in the *Cambrian Period,* as they closely resemble the worm-like organisms responsible for the *Cambrian Substrate Revolution.* (+) If so, then their morphology hasn't significantly diverged from their ancestors for over 500 million years (as they've apparently found an extremely stable niche in digging 'round through the mud of the seafloor).
(+) - Where tiny worm-like organisms penetrated & churned up the anoxic substrate which had previously been sealed below bacterial biomats, triggering important evolutionary radiation & diversification.

Ummm... Professor Dave, eyes are too complex to evolve. Dont show a basic eye that shows the start of eye evolution. Lol😊

@@Andres-nu3xh you do get I was joking about the eyes, right. That's what creationists say. This thing has light sensitive cells in its eyes which is one of, if not the first, steps in the evolutions of eyes.
